HARTWELL, Ga. -- Funeral for Sarah Margaret Temple Cheek, 83, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Black officiating.

Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Shelton Funeral in charge of local arrangements. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 9 to 11 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cheek died Thursday, May 31, 2001, in Decatur. She was born July 31, 1917, in Hart County to Reese Cleveland Temple and Mary Magnolia Frye Temple. She was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Hartwell and attended Central Park Baptist Church in Decatur. She was the mother of the late Tony Mauldin and the sister of the late Perry Temple, James Temple, J.C. Temple, Ruth Moorhead and Sue Floyd.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Cheek Sr.; one son, Eddie Cheek of Sandersville, Ga.; one daughter, Connie King of Decatur; two brothers, Jim Dodd Temple and Inman Temple, both of Hartwell; two sisters, Lorene Bradberry and Louise Cordell, both of Hartwell; and five grandchildren.

Eugene Douglas Corum
78, retired parts manager

MOULTON -- Funeral for Eugene Douglas Corum, 78, of Moulton will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Shelton and the Rev. Darryl Woods officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Corum died Monday, June 4, 2001, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Lawrence County, to Benjamin A. Corum and Bessie Lee Darnell Corum. He was retired as a parts manager. Mr. Corum was the father of the late James Douglas "Jim" Corum and the brother of the late Beatrice Hodson and William B. Corum.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Sparks Corum; three daughters, Barbara Gail Corum Burleson of Decatur, and Sandra Jo Corum and Anita Sue Corum, both of Moulton; one sister, Sara Corum Geiger of Decatur; and two grandchildren.

Marjorie Eubank Durham
77, U.S. postal clerk

HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral for Marjorie Eubank Durham, 77, of Harvest, was Saturday at Harvest Baptist Church with the Rev. Douglas Wever, the Rev. Wheeler Kidd and the Rev. Stanley Durham officiating.

Burial was in Huntsville Memory Gardens, with Spry Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Durham died June 1, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Giles County, Tenn. She was a resident of Toney for 40 years and a retired Madison Post Office postal clerk. She was widow of Leonard Eugene Durham.

Survivors include one son, Stanley Durham of Decatur; one brother, John R. Eubank of Pulaski, Tenn.; one sister, Frances Pigg of Pulaski; and two grandchildren.

Agnes B. Dutton
72, seamstress

MOULTON -- Funeral for Agnes B. Dutton, 72, of Moulton will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Elmer Fowler and Kenard Devaney officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dutton died Sunday June 3, 2001, at Haleyville Health Care. She was born March 7, 1929, in Lawrence County to Elbert Blankenship and Ethel Wilkerson Blankenship. She was retired as a seamstress from the sewing industry in Lawrence County and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Billy Dutton of Moulton; one brother, Starlin Blankenship of Moulton; four sisters, Gladys LuAllen, Clara Mae Yarbrough and Christine Powers, all of Moulton, and Lee Jones of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Philip Alvin Hall
90, retired rural mail carrier

ADDISON -- Funeral for Philip Alvin Hall, 90, of Addison was to be today at 2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Phillips officiating.

Burial was to be in Arley Congregational Church cemetery.

Mr. Hall died Friday, June 1, 2001, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born March 11, 1911, in Maine to Arthur Dillwyn Hall and Jennie Mae Briggs Hall. He was a retired rural mail carrier. He was an Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Anna C. Hall; two sons, Richard Clark Hall of Vinemont and Lowell Ray Hall of Cullman; four daughters, Janice Hall Bell of Hartselle, Phyllis Ann Antle, of Canyon, Texas, Brenda Louise Beard, West Point, Miss., and Evalee Hall Hallmark of Muscle Shoals; one sister, Alice Elizabeth Hall Erickson of Everett, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and one step-grandson.

Pallbearers were to be Tim Hallmark, Matt Hallmark, Adam Gardner, John Allen Beard, David Hall and Robin Johnson.

Lela Mae Crow Hunnicutt
82, retired schoolteacher

Funeral for Lela Mae Crow Hunnicutt, 82, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church in Decatur with the Rev. Martin Fischer and the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton City Cemetery with Ridout's-Brown Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hunnicutt died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at her home. She was born Oct. 7, 1918, in Courtland to William Elbert Crow and Jetta Martin Crow. She was a former resident of Huntsville and Decatur. A retired schoolteacher, she taught in school systems in Lanett City, Morgan, Marshall and Lawrence counties, and she retired from Huntsville City School System. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a past member of Whitesburg Baptist Church. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Union. After moving to Oak Ridge, she was a member of High Places Community Church. She was the widow of James Cullen Hunnicutt Sr. and sister of the late Ruth Crow Roberson, Cecil Crow, Clarence Crow and Wiley Crow.

Survivors include one son, James Cullen Hunnicutt Jr. of Birmingham; two daughters, Sarah Ellen Hunnicutt of Columbus, Ga., and Cathy Hunnicutt Sloan of Oak Ridge, with whom she lived; two sisters, Hazel Halbrooks of Louisville, Ky., and Mary Ellen Sharrott of Hartselle; one brother, Winston Crow of Decatur; and five grandchildren.

Toby Conrad Lenz

Toby Conrad Lenz, 43, of Madison died today, June 4, 2001, at his home. Roselawn Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

Barry Thomas Russell

NASHVILLE -- Funeral for Barry Thomas Russell, 44, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home with the Rev. Milton Hicks officiating.

Burial will be in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Shelton Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Mr. Russell died Friday, June 1, 2001, at his home. He was born Nov. 15, 1956, in Nashville to Cloyd Russell and Faye Russell. He worked at Expression and Changes salons in Decatur for the past 10 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Christy Russell of Nashville; his parents, of Decatur; and one brother, Larry Russell of North Carolina.

Clarence Oscar Sandusky Jr.
74, Meadow Gold retiree

Funeral for Clarence Oscar Sandusky Jr., 74, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Barnes officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11 at the funeral home.

Mr. Sandusky died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at his home. He was born July 17, 1926, in Alabama to Clarence Oscar Sandusky Sr. and Arrie Naomi Betterton Sandusky. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired from Meadow Gold Dairies. He was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Edith L. Sandusky; one son, Robert D. Sandusky of Birmingham; one stepson, John W. Long of Nashville; one daughter, Betty Metcalf of Decatur; one brother, W.H. Sandusky of Decatur; two sisters, Katherine Ford and Dorothy Burleson, both of Decatur; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Anders, Charles Ford, Jim Burleson, Al Metcalf, Jack Betterton and Jimmy Wallace.

Lyda J. Smith
77, homemaker

Funeral for Lyda J. Smith, 77, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Sparks and the Rev. Wyman Logan officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Aug. 9, 1923, in Kansas to Norris Baxter and Callie Baxter. She was a homemaker and a member of Bible Baptist Church in Hartselle.

Survivors include her husband, Hilry Smith; four sons, Michael Rutherford of Decatur, H. Mario Smith of Rockland, Idaho, Julian Smith of Priceville and Jonathan Smith of Decatur; one daughter, Rebecca Jo Skidmore of Huntsville, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Sons and grandsons will be pallbearers.

Orlan A. Burnett
74, self-employed

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Orlan A. Burnett, 74, of Danville was to be today at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Mack Carter officiating.

Burial was to be in Center Cemetery.

Mr. Burnett died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 2, 1926, in Winston County to William Henry Burnett and Pearl Evelyne Alexander Burnett. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 4190 and was self-employed in the catering business.

Survivors include three sons, James Burnett of Danville, Eddie Burnett of Moulton and Johnny Burnett of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three daughters, Martha E. Bylow and Kay Payne, both of Decatur, and Barbara Sue Lee of Danville; one brother, Gilbert Burnett of Cullman; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Brannon, Gary Burnett, Kevin Burnett, Larry Burnett, Michael Burnett and Howard Bylow.

Sue Ella Cunningham
85, cook

CHATTANOOGA -- Funeral for Sue Ella Cunningham, 85, of Chattanooga will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church on Avondale with the Rev. J.W. Williams officiating.

Burial will be in National Cemetery with Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Cunningham died Friday, June 1, 2001, at East Ridge Care Nursing Home in Chattanooga. She was a cook.

Survivors include one sister, Alberta Cohen of Decatur.

Toby Conrad Lenz
43, U.S. Navy veteran/ chemical technician

Funeral for Toby Conrad Lenz, 43, of Madison will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Culotta officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Lenz died Monday, June 4, 2001, at his home. He was born March 23, 1958, in Athens, Ga., to Jack D. Lenz and Ella Clement Lenz. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a chemical technician with Daimler-Chrysler Corp. He was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Visitation in Huntsville.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Lenz; two sons, Jacob Lenz and Noah Lenz, both of Oshkosh, Wis.; his mother of Huntsville; one brother, Robin Lenz of Huntsville; and one sister, Lisa Fouche of Huntsville.

Silvia Francisco Matias

Graveside service for Silvia Francisco Matias, 8 months, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Roni Noriega officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 at the funeral home.

The child died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at her home. She was born Sept. 16, 2000, in Morgan County to Luis Francisco and Gasilda Matias.

Survivors include her parents of Decatur; one brother, Abrelio Francisco Matias; and one sister, Maria Francisco Matias.
