Maymie Palmer George
90, retired Goodyear worker

Funeral for Maymie Palmer George, 90, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Oak Park Church of God with the Rev. Carl Maynard officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Roselawn Funeral Home.

Mrs. George died at home Sunday, June 10, 2001. She was born Feb. 18, 1911, in Giles County, Tenn., to John Henry Palmer and Ginny Dicky Palmer. She was the widow of Fred F. George Sr. and the mother of Fred F. George Jr. She was a member of Oak Park Church of God for 50 years. She retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. after 29 years.

Survivors include one son, Don G. George of Decatur; one daughter, Colleen G. Crafton of Florence; one sister, Frances P. Kornis of Decatur; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Parrish, Buck Rogers, Daniel McClendon, Gregory Parrish, Alan Crafton and Samuel Parrish.

Thomas Henry 'Tom' Haney
77, retired auto mechanic

ATHENS -- Funeral for Thomas Henry "Tom" Haney, 77, of Athens will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Mike Poff officiating.

Burial will be in Oakgrove Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Haney died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born April 20, 1924, in Limestone County. He was a retired auto mechanic and a Christian for many years.

Survivors include his wife, F.A. Haney; one son, Tommy G. Haney of Athens; four daughters, Shelia McConnell, Sonja Blackburn, Cindy Mosley and Freida Pressnell, all of Anderson; one sister, Clara Mae Cribbs of Athens; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Aejelan Demitry Jones

Funeral for infant Aejelan Demitry Jones of Courtland will be Tuesday at noon at Reynolds Funeral Home with the Rev. L. L. Roberts officiating.

Burial will be in Garth Cemetery.

The infant died Thursday, June 7, 2001, the day of his birth, at Decatur General Hospital.

Survivors include his mother, Yolanda Jones of Courtland; his grandparents, the Rev. J. B. Jones and Daisy Jones of Courtland, and the Rev. Clifford Kelly and Deborah Kelly of Birmingham; his great-grandmother, Carlene Lewis of Birmingham; his great-grandfather, Issac Mason Jr. of Chattanooga; and his great-great-grandmother, Virginia Kelly of Birmingham.

Homer Lee Elders
59, Elders and Son Tree Service employee

ATHENS -- Funeral for Homer Lee Elders, 59, of Athens will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Dewey Craft and the Rev. Donald Clem officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Elders died Monday, June 11, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Oct. 25, 1941, in Giles County, Tenn., to Thomas Wilson Elders and Clara Ozell Elders. He was a Pentecostal and an employee of Elders and Son Tree Service. He was the father of the late Terry Elders and Jeff Elders and the brother of the late James Wayne Elders.

Survivors include his son, Frankie Lee Elders of Elkmont; his mother of Athens; one brother, Bobby Dean Elders of Athens; and two granddaughters.

Debra Lynn Ferrill
46, schoolteacher

GOLDSBORO, N.C. -- Funeral for Debra Lynn Ferrill, 46, of Goldsboro, formerly of Morgan County, will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Oak Forest Road Church of Christ with Robert Goff officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Seymour Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and at other times at 203 Meadow Road, Goldsboro.

Miss Ferrill died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro. She was born Nov. 22, 1954, in Decatur to Jerry L. Ferrill Sr. and Mavis Johnson Ferrill. She was a schoolteacher.

Survivors include her mother of Goldsboro; her brother, Jerry L. Ferrill Jr. of Goldsboro; and her sister, Lisa R. Collins of Goldsboro.

Memorials may be made to Wayne County Mental Health, 301 Herman St., Box DD, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

Emily Grace Barber Hale
Infant

Funeral for Emily Grace Barber Hale, 7 months, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Les Jones and B. Kay Jones officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

The infant died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Nov. 8, 2000, in Decatur to Mike Hale and Rebecca Barber.

Survivors include her parents of Decatur; one brother, Justin Barber of Decatur; her grandparents, Rodney Hale and Cora Hale of Trinity, Avery Barber of Decatur and Billy Denson and Betty Denson of Hillsboro; and her great-grandparents, Madalynne Hale of Potts Camp, Miss., and Gladys Woods of Holly Springs, Miss.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Hale, Jason Moore and Chris Hale.

Mary Lawson Jared
81, homemaker

ELBA -- Funeral for Mary Lawson Jared, 81, of Elba and formerly of Decatur, will be Saturday at Hayes Funeral Home with the Rev. John I. Baxter officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Elba. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jared died Friday, June 8, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta, Ga. She was born June 10, 1919, in Danville, Va. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of W. F. Jared and the mother of the late JoAnn Ryan. She was the sister of the late Clyde Lawson Jr. and the late Theleska Nordquist. She moved in 1988 from Guntersville to Elba, where she was an active member of the Elba United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, John Michael Jared of Elba; one daughter, Bettie Grejda of Evans, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Lois Elaine Jones
76, homemaker

HANCEVILLE -- Funeral for Lois Elaine Jones, 76, of Hanceville will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Wright officiating.

The family will receive friends two hours before the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born April 29, 1925, in Meridian, Idaho, to Alvin B. Corbin and Nora Taylor Corbin. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, James "Jimmy" Jones; one son, Vol Jones of Hanceville; two daughters, Paula Hazelrigg of Somerville and Daphney Walker of Briarfield; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Lucille Weinman Lindsey
82, retired assistant EMA director

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Lucille Weinman Lindsey, 82, of Hartselle will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. W.G. Henry, the Rev. Bill Cole and the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lindsey died Monday, June 11, 2001, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born April 10, 1919, in Morgan County to J. Earnest Weinman and Ola Thompson Weinman. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hartselle and was involved in the United Methodist Women organization for many years. She was in various business and professional organizations. She retired as assistant director of Emergency Management Agency of Morgan County. She was the widow of William D. Lindsey Sr. and the mother of the late Ted Weinman Lindsey and Sandra Leigh Lindsey.

Survivors include one son, William "Bill" D. Lindsey Jr. of Decatur; one brother, Paul Weinman of Hartselle; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jay Harrell, Burl Landers, Marshall Lewey, Mike Lindsey, Terry Lindsey, Alvin Prince, Kenneth Standridge and Doug Weinman.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund or Habitat for Humanity.

June Owens
86, retired construction worker

Funeral for June Owens, 86, of Moulton will be Wednesday at noon at Freeman Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. H.N. Snodgrass officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church for one hour before the service.

Mr. Owens died Friday, June 8, 2001, at University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. He was born Jan. 21, 1915, in Lawrence County to Alf Owens and Mary Priest Owens. He was a member of Freeman Tabernacle Church and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army who served in the Normandy invasion and in Northern France. He received the EAME Theatre Ribbon with two bronze stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal II. He was a retired construction worker.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Owens of Moulton and Johnnie Byars of Detroit; two daughters, Loraine Owens-Robinson of Moulton and Janice Alexander of Huntsville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Troy Gholston, Norris Gholston, Ray Owens, Reginald Owens, Charles Lee and Calvin Lee.

Frances Sullivan Raby
62, homemaker

GALLANT, Tenn. -- Funeral for Frances Sullivan Raby, 62, of Fay- etteville, Tenn., formerly of Limestone County, was to be today at 4 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home with the Rev. Edwin Fannin officiating.

Burial was to be in Riverview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Raby died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born March 17, 1939, in Limestone County to William Harris Sullivan and Nella Vinson Sullivan. She was a homemaker and a member of Apostolic Life Church.

Survivors include her husband, Elgie Raby; two sons, Billy Wilkes and Bubba Wilkes, both of Fayetteville; three daughters, Pat Marks of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Jo Daly and Lou Moyers, both of Fayetteville; one stepson, Ronnie Hodge of Napa Valley, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Patsy Whitson of Springhill, Tenn.; three sisters, Martha Murray of Charlotte, Tenn., Mary Ann Haney of Athens and Linda Vincent of Bunker Hill, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

Mildred B. Richardson
92, retired bookkeeper

ATHENS -- Funeral for Mildred B. Richardson, 92, of Harvest will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Copeland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Phillip Babcock officiating.

Burial will be in Copeland Cemetery with McConnell Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Richardson died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at Lynchburg Nursing Home in Lynchburg, Tenn. She was born Feb. 18, 1909, in Madison County to Asa Oakley Brakefield and Lena Sanderson Brakefield. A Madison County resident since 1938, she was a retired bookkeeper for Park Plumber Supply. She was the widow of Robert Richardson Sr., the mother of the late Robert Richardson Jr., Joe Richardson and Marie Richardson, and the sister of the late James Brakefield and Elizabeth Thompson.

Survivors include one daughter, Frances Prosser of De Kalb, Texas; two sisters, Lucille Cutshaw of Maryville, Tenn., and Sue Rapuano of New Haven, Conn.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Copeland Presbyterian Church.
