Mrs. Taylor died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at Martin Health Care Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 21, 1904, in Weakley County, Tenn., to Charles Freeman and Rausie Taylor Freeman. She was a homemaker and a member of Sharon First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Garrett Taylor.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Taylor of Sharon and the Rev. Jackie Taylor of Williamsport, Tenn.; one daughter, Charline Dunlap of Decatur; two sisters, Dorothy Brundige of Martin, Tenn., and Ruth Helen Freeman of Chicago; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Mr. Thomason died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born June 14, 1935, in Blount County to Ernest C. Thomason and Zona Elizabeth Ellis Thomason. He was retired from Mental Health Services.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Elizabeth King of Blountsville; two stepbrothers, Buddy Thomason of New Jersey and Lois Jones of Georgia; and one granddaughter.

Mrs. Adams died Friday, June 29, 2001, in Decatur. She was born July 30, 1923, in Limestone County to Dupree Campbell and Katie Peek Campbell. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was the widow of Razzie Lee Adams.
Survivors include two sons, Danny Lee Adams of Moulton and Daniel Ray Adams of Decatur; two daughters, Pam Steelman of Athens and Paula Mullins of Decatur; two brothers, Charles Campbell of Prospect, Tenn., and Ted Campbell of Athens; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.

Burial will be in Bell Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Mr. Clopton died Thursday, June 28, 2001, in Decatur. He was born April 4, 1973, in Morgan County to Napoleon Clopton III and Ellistine Wiggins McDaniel. He was a packing clerk at Cinram Video Corp. in Decatur. He attended West Morgan High School and was a member of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother of Decatur; seven brothers, Richard McDaniel, Willie McDaniel, Roy McDaniel, Michael Clopton, David Clopton, Carl Clopton and Ray Clopton, all of Decatur; four sisters, Coretta Goodloe of Trinity, and Mendy McDaniel, Lillie Turner and Meshelia McDaniel, all of Decatur; and his grandmother, Lillie Mae Wiggins of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Hampton, Roderick Bolden, Corey Wynn, Willie Sears, Roderick Goode and Calvert Turner.

Mr. Jones died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at his home. He was born March 19, 1910, in Athens to Charles and Amanda Jones. He was a former resident of Mobile and lived in Pensacola for more than 50 years. He retired from George A. Hormel Food Co. after 30 years of service. He was an active member of East Brent Baptist Church and a volunteer with the Arthritis Foundation. He was the brother of the late Ralph Jones.
Survivors include one son, Charles Jones III of Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Julia Bonifay of Pensacola and Glynis Hyde of Mobile; one brother, Aaron Jones of Tuscumbia; one sister, Kathleen Thornton of Athens; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Martin died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at his home. He was born Feb. 11, 1936, in Limestone County to Johnny and Louise Martin. He was retired from 3M and was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church. He was the brother of the late Bobby Martin and Mike Martin.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Martin; two sons, Roger Martin of Athens and Larry Martin of Ardmore; two brothers, Wade Martin of Athens and David Martin of Loogootee, Ind.; four sisters, Evelyn Hagood, Judy McMahan, Ellen Holden and Gail Chambers, all of Athens; and five grandchildren.

Mr. McMurry died Friday, June 29, 2001, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Dec. 15, 1925, in Walker County to J.D. McMurry and Mendana Glenn McMurry. He was a retired machine operator from Goodyear Rubber and Tire Co. A U.S. Navy veteran, he received the Military Cross of Honor. He was a member of the American Legion Post 15, Disabled American Veterans Post 11, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4190, Decatur Shrine Club, Decatur Fraternal Order of the Elks, Cahaba Temple, Shrine of Huntsville, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry 32nd Degree of Huntsville, Nunn-Oden Lodge 398 of Masonry and Bethel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Flossie McMurry; three sons, Bobby Lee McMurry of Vinemont, and Larry Don McMurry and John David McMurry, both of Hartselle; one daughter, Linda Kay Eddy of Hartselle; two brothers, Ben McMurry of Hanceville and R.J. McMurry of Joppa; three sisters, Lucille Ponder of Cullman, Mary DeGuilio of Woodhaven, Mich., and Florence Quick of Hanceville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ms. Preston died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born May 17, 1912, in Moulton to James Madison Preston and Lucy Dutton Preston. A beautician for 50 years, she was the owner and operator of Beauty Bar on Johnston Street. She was a member of Central Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Irvin Preston of Moulton; and two sisters, Pauline Preston Peck and Bertha Preston Dobbins, both of Hartselle.

Mrs. Steed died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. She was born March 30, 1922, in Birmingham to Thomas H. Fitzpatrick and Mary Faustina Crawford Fitzpatrick. The Fitzpatricks moved to Decatur in 1936. She attended Sacred Heart Academy in Cullman and later worked as a bookkeeper for her father at McGough Bakery in Decatur. She married Frank J. McLaughlin Jr. in 1949. After his death in 1982, she married William E. Steed Jr. of Decatur in 1988 and the couple lived in Guntersville. She was active in Saint William Catholic Church and involved in numerous civic and social activities, including being a charter member of the Cherokee Hills Bridge Club of Guntersville and the Saint Ann's Bridge Club of Decatur. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Dr. F. Joseph McLaughlin of Nashville; Dr. John M. McLaughlin of Sioux Falls, S.D., Dr. James T. McLaughlin of Montgomery and state Rep. Jeffrey McLaughlin of Guntersville; one daughter, Janet McLaughlin of Nashville; one brother, Thomas Fitzpatrick of Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Louise McGough of Birmingham and Dorothy Russ of Sierra Madre, Calif.; and 15 grandchildren.

Mrs. Tuchinsky died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at her home. She was born April 4, 1916, in Camp Verde, Ariz., to William McBride and Louise McBride. She was a hairstylist for Metro-Goldwyn Meyer for 20 years and then worked in real estate and banking.
Survivors include one daughter, Mona DeMars of Hartselle; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Way died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Aug. 20, 1939, in Moulton, and was retired as a sheet metal mechanic from W&S Electrical in Decatur. He was a member of Christ Worship Center in Madison.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Blankenship Way; one son, Dennis Steven Way of Trinity; one daughter, Rhonda Mote of Moulton; two brothers, Jerry Doyle Way of Somerville and Waylon Way of Moulton; two sisters, Doris McKay and Dorothy Smith, both of Moulton; and five grandchildren.
