Funeral for Katrina Michelle Wilkerson, 31, of Decatur will be Thursday at noon at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Franklin officiating.

Burial will be in Blackwell Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be in the church one hour before the service.

Ms. Wilkerson died Friday, June 29, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born July 15, 1969, in Morgan County to Billy Kyle and Wanda Wilkerson Elliott. She was an operator/team leader at Englehard in Madison. She was a graduate of Decatur High School and attended Calhoun Community College. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Quentin Wilkerson and Quincy Wilkerson, both of Decatur; her stepfather and mother, Albert Elliott and Wanda Wilkerson Elliott of Decatur; three brothers, Woodson Kyle, Joel Kyle and Ben Polk, all of Oneonta; two stepbrothers, Bobby Elliott and Albert Elliott Jr., both of Decatur; three sisters, Carolyn Alexander, Jeanette Vergis and Peggy Elliott, all of Oneonta; and four stepsisters, Janice Thompson, Connie White, Dorothy Franklin and Gloria Edwards, all of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Harold Swopes, Darryl Elliott, Hollis Shackleford, Larry Hodges, Darryl Clemmons, Anthony Moore, Jimmy Petty and Bishop Barbe.

Thelma O. Bradford
74, retired secretary
MOULTON -- Funeral for Thelma Odell Bradford, 74, of Pulaski, Tenn., will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Lovelady officiating.

Burial will be in Old Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Leighton. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.

Miss Bradford died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at National Health Care in Pulaski. She was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Franklin County to Noah W. Bradford and Nancy Belle Edgar Bradford. She was retired as a secretary from Continental Insurance Co. in Birmingham and was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church in Leighton. Miss Bradford was a graduate of Mount Hope High School and a graduate of Anderson Business College in Florence.

Survivors include six brothers, Alton Bradford of Moulton, Leroy Bradford and Thurman Bradford, both of Russellville, Milton Bradford and Edward Bradford, both of Leighton, and Glenn Bradford of Mount Hope; and one sister, Marie Kennemer of Anderson.

Brothers will be pallbearers.

David Lenin Kutz
80, retired engineer

Funeral for David Levin Kutz, 80, of Decatur will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Pope and Rev. Randy Vanlandingham officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Kutz died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1920, in Boiling Springs, Pa. He was an engineer for the Nike Hercules Missile project at Redstone Arsenal and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 15. He was past president of the Greater Decatur Bowling Association and former member of the Decatur Board of Education. He was the father of the late Richard Atkinson.

Survivors include two sons, Victor L. Kutz II of Decatur and Donald Atkinson of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; one daughter, Lois Cornman of Decatur; a son and two daughters in Pennsylvania; one sister, Jane Clepper of Carlisle, Pa.; one stepbrother, Clarence Rhodes of Lewistown, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Mullican, Leon Smith, Fred Hamilton, Tom Davis, Jim Lentz and Gene Dirks.

Memorials may be made to Ninth Street United Methodist Church.

Ruby Alice Preston
89, beauty shop owner

Funeral for Ruby Alice Preston, 89, of Decatur was to be today at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Carlisle officiating.

Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Miss Preston died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born May 17, 1912, in Moulton to James Marion Preston and Lucy Dutton Preston. A beautician for 50 years, she was the owner and operator of Beauty Bar on Johnston Street. She was a member of Central Park Baptist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Irvin Preston of Moulton; and two sisters, Pauline Preston Peck and Bertha Preston Dobbins, both of Hartselle.

Pallbearers were to Sonny Preston, Harold Preston, Allen Preston, Joel Preston, Mark Peck and Bob Elrod.

Nellie Belmont Willis
86, homemaker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Nellie Belmont Willis, 86, of Athens was to be today at 11 a.m. at Sardis Springs Baptist Church with Tim Keenum and Calvin Inman officiating.

Burial was to be in Sardis Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with McConnell Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Willis died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at Limestone Health Facility. She was born March 10, 1915, in Limestone County to John Dedmon and Bessie Yarbrough Dedmon. She was a homemaker and a member of Sardis Springs Baptist Church. She was the widow of Buford Willis, the mother of the late Bessie Faye Willis and the sister of the late Dewey Dedmon, George Dedmon, Delbert Dedmon, Horace Dedmon, Ira Dedmon and John Dedmon.

Survivors included three sons, Buford L. Willis of Nashville and John Willis and Jerry Willis, both of Athens; one daughter, Nellie Ann Worley of Athens; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Horace Willis, Bobby Willis, Jimmy Willis, Jason Worley, Steven Willis and Allen Willis.

Grandchildren were to be honorary pallbearers.

Paul Kendrith Beasley
ATHENS -- Graveside service for Paul Kendrith Beasley, 78, of Athens was Tuesday at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Matlock officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Beasley died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at Limestone Health Facility. He was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Athens to Ronald Beasley and Willie Beasley. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. He was brother of the late Cleo Beasley Huber, Jalena Birch and Tom Beasley. Brenda Poe was his niece and legal guardian.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert Beasley of Athens and James Beasley of Chicago, Ill.

Helen E. Carlson
82, beautician

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Helen E. Carlson, 82 of Medfield, Massachusetts, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Teal officiating and McConnell Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Thursday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carlson died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at Denmark, Mass. She was born Aug. 24, 1918, in Athens in Arty Rogers and Nina Eddins Rogers. She was a self-employed beautician. She was a member of First Baptist Church Ladies Club in Needham, Mass.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Edward Carson of Medfield, Mass; two sons, Jim Hannah of Woodland, Ga., and Bobby P. Hannah of Roswell, Ga.; one stepson, Dr. Bryan Carlson of Medfield; one stepdaughter, Ingrid Carlson of Newton, Ga.; two grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

David Levin Kutz

ATHENS -- Funeral for Huey Elvis "Billy" Moore, 72, of Athens will be today at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny McMullins officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.

Mr. Moore died Monday, July 2, 2001, at Athens Limestone Hospital. He was born May 2, 1929, in Limestone County to the Rev. W.B. Moore and Flosse Moore. He was a retired carpenter and a member of First Union Baptist Church. He was father of the late Billy Wayne Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Moore; two sons, Dwight Moore and Tim Moore, both of Athens; one daughter, Rosemary Moore of Athens; two sisters, Willodean Gatlin of Athens and Jewel Coffman of New Hope; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Danny Moore, Tommy Moore, Donnie Gatlin, Phillip Gatlin, Roland Lee and Gwynn Rose.

Weldon E. Norton

FLORENCE -- Funeral for Welson E. Norton, 64, of Killen will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Elkins East Funeral Home.

Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Norton died Tuesday, June 3, 2001, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence. Full arrangements will be announced.

Charles William 'Butch' Shoemaker
52, retired sheet worker

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Charles William "Butch" Shoemaker, 52, of Rogersville will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Hester Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Joshua Bassham officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Shoemaker died Friday, June 29, 2001, in Limestone County. He was born Dec. 10, 1948, in Limestone County to Floyd Shoemaker and Jewel McAllister Shoemaker. He was a U.S Army veteran and a retired sheet worker.

Survivors include one son, Chris Shoemaker of Yulee, Fla.; one sister, Ann Barnes of Athens; four half brothers, Terry Williams, Stevie Williams, Frankie Williams and Kip Williams, all of Rogersville; two half sisters, Sherry Bassham of Athens and Linda Cox of Anderson.

Dortha Lauderdale Bean
93, homemaker

HARTSELLE -- Graveside service for Dortha Lauderdale Bean, 93, of Falkville will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with Rev. Ira Williams officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bean died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. She was born June 21, 1908, in Mississippi to Thomas Lauderdale and Eulah Pease Lauderdale. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Hartselle. She was the widow of Frank P. Bean.

Survivors include one daughter, Becky B. Bramlett of Cullman; two sisters, Jane L. McCutcheon of Falkville and Mary L. Blizzard of Decatur; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Patrick G. Bramlett, Michael A. Bramlett, James K. Bramlett, Timothy J. Bramlett, Nathan Williams and John E. Wright.

Wyatt Lacy 'Sonny' Blake Jr.
64, underground coal miner

DOUBLE SPRINGS -- Funeral for Wyatt Lacy "Sonny" Blake Jr., 64, of Double Springs, who has relatives living in the area, was to be today at 2 p.m. at Christ's Fellowship Assembly of God with the Rev. David Hert, the Rev. David Nelson, the Rev. Frankie Godsey and the Rev. Nelson Bullard officiating.

Burial was to be in Fairview Cemetery with Nichols Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Blake died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at his home. He was born June 28, 1937, in Double Springs to Wyatt Lacy Blake Sr. and Emma Lucille Jacobs Blake. He was a disabled underground coal miner.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Ann Terry Blake; one son, Wyatt Terrell Blake of Double Springs; one daughter, Rita Kay Blake Patterson of Double Springs; one sister, Martha Frank Blake Godsey of Double Springs; and three grandchildren.
