MOULTON -- Funeral for Edna Lee Kerby, 67, of Town Creek will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. John Fike officiating.

Burial will be in Lagrange Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Ms. Kerby died Friday, July 13, 2001, at Shoals Medical Center. She was born Dec. 13, 1933, in Colbert County to Lonnie and Nannie Kerby. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one brother, A.J. Kerby of Town Creek; and two sisters, Martha Kerby of Town Creek and Birdie Scoggins of Littleville.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Zelma Flynn New
87, homemaker

SOMERSET, Ky. -- Funeral for Zelma Flynn New, 87, of Moulton was Friday at Lange and New Brothers Funeral Home with J.S. New officiating.

Burial was in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset. Lawrence Funeral Home handled local arrangements.

Mrs. New died Monday, July 9, 2001, at Hendrix Nursing Home in Double Springs. She was born March 15, 1914, in Kentucky to Tom and Betty Troxtell. She was a homemaker and attended Denham Street Baptist Church. She was the widow of Jeff Flynn and Oscar New; the mother of the late Hester New, Elizabeth New, Joann New and Bernice New; and the sister of the late Willard Troxtell, Edward Troxtell, Gola Troxtell, Thelma Jones, Christine Gossett, Grace Flynn and Myrtle Flynn.

Survivors include seven sons, Jimmy Flynn and Ardell Flynn, both of Somerset, Robert Flynn of Kidder, Ky., Herstal Flynn of Moulton, Charlie Frank Flynn of Connersville, Ind., and Oscar New Jr. and Kenneth New, both of Las Vegas; three daughters, Mary Schneider of Las Vegas and Diane Gossett and Darlene Rogers, both of Somerset; four brothers, Jack Troxtell, Charlie Troxtell and Frank Troxtell, all of Somerset, and John Troxtell of Science Hill, Ky.; 26 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Linda Sue Wilson

ATHENS -- Funeral for Linda Sue Wilson, 54, of Elkmont will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bowden officiating.

Burial will be in O'Neal Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wilson died Friday, July 13, 2001, in Hartselle. She was born Oct. 25, 1946, in Madison County to Leonard Green hall and Edith Green hall Johnson. She was a waitress and a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Wilson; four sons, Charles Griffin of Somerville and George Lynn Griffin, James Wilson and Randy Wilson Jr., all of Athens; one daughter, Revonia Dutton of Hartselle; three brothers, Richard Earl Green hall of Moulton, Lenny Green hall of Hartselle and Ferrell Green hall of Boston; and three sisters, Dale Chambers of Decatur and Janice Green hall and Marcia Gulley, both of Athens; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Walter Lynn Green hall, Thomas Kulick, Jeff Dutton, Lenny Green hall, Richard Green hall, Johnny Chambers and Jeff Chambers.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Athens-Limestone County.

Alma Irene Sizemore Wright
81, homemaker

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Alma Irene Sizemore Wright, 81, of Holly Pond will be today at 4 p.m. at Williams-McCracken Funeral Home with the Rev. Sherman Bailey and the Rev. Mike Owen officiating.

Burial will be in New Hope No. 2 Cemetery.

Mrs. Wright died Thursday, July 12, 2001, at Woodland Medical Center. She was born Jan. 30, 1920, in Cullman County to Edmond H. Sizemore and Viola McGriff Sizemore. A homemaker, she was the widow of Thomas Mandel Wright and the sister of the late Hobert Sizemore and Hubert Sizemore.

Survivors include one son, Donald W. Wright of Moulton; one daughter, Carolyn W. Gunter of Holly Pond; two brothers, Hurshel Sizemore of Calera and Hullon Sizemore of Holly Pond; one sister, Mona Alene Hammock of Birmingham; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

William 'Willie' Joseph Amerson
67, retired welder
ATHENS -- Funeral for William "Willie" Joseph Amerson, 67, of Harvest will be Monday at 1 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Dwight Rayburn and Frankie Murphy officiating.

Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Amerson died Friday, July 13, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Dec. 3, 1933, in Limestone County to Ronald Gray Amerson and Mary Eunice Barnet Amerson. He was a retired welder and a member of New Oakland Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and adult Sunday school teacher. He was the brother of the late Herman Amerson.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel Tarpley Amerson; four sons, Roger D. Amerson, Billy Don Amerson, Steven W. Amerson and Michael T. Amerson, all of Harvest; two brothers, James Amerson of Decatur and David Amerson of Bloomington, Ind.; two sisters, Louise Haggenmaker of Madison and Stella Hicks of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

Council Edward Ayers
43, packager

Funeral for Council Edward Ayers, 43, of Decatur will be Tuesday at noon at Macedonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Lynne Herring officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Ayers died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born March 29, 1958, in Morgan County to Joe Ayers and Dorothy Mosley Ayers. He was a blender at National Packaging Co. in Decatur and was a member of St. James Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include four sons, Fabian Scott of Huntsville and Mario Ayers, Council Ayers Jr. and Brandon Ayers, all of Decatur; two daughters, Kantraria Swoopes and Latonya Ayers, both of Decatur; his mother of Decatur; four brothers, Joe Ayers Jr. of Atlanta, John Ayers of Hillsboro, and Pertis Ayers and Michael Ayers, both of Decatur; and three sisters, Janice Ellison and Joyce Taylor, both of Decatur, and Eva Wortham of Philadelphia.

Pallbearers will be Isaac Lockett, Tommie Allen, Zack Porter, James Johnson, Dexter Stevenson and John Ellison.

Nellie 'Nell' Neal Cagle

Funeral for Nellie "Nell" Neal Cagle, 82, of Madison will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Curtis Sampley officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cagle died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Madison Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 19, 1919, in Lauderdale County to James Sharp and Lillian Sadler Sharp. She was a homemaker and a member of Beltline Church of Christ. She was the widow of Leonard M. Cagle and the sister of the late Homer Sharp, Edward Sharp and Annie Mae Reagen.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Martin Cagle of Decatur and Harry Cagle of Montgomery; two daughters, Gwen McCaffrey of Madison and Ronda Cagle of Decatur; one brother, Lowell Sharp of Decatur; three sisters, Bess Mitchell, Rachel Dewberry and Alyleen Sharp, all of Florence; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Clark, Curt Osborn, Danny Hawkins, Darron Fleming, Marvin Smith and Randy Parker.

Cora Katherine Isabell

ATHENS -- Funeral for Cora Katherine Isabell, 91, of Athens will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Duell-Clark Funeral Home in Versailles, Ky., with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home handling local arrangements.

The family will receive friends Monday night from 5 to 8 at Duell-Clark Funeral Home.

Mrs. Isabell died Friday, July 13, 2001, at her home. She was born June 17, 1910, in Carrollton, Ky., to George and Bertha Pittman. She was a homemaker and a member of Midway Baptist Church in Midway, Ky.

Survivors include one son, Herman Lee Pittman of Versailles; one daughter, Johnnie M. Allred of Athens; and five grandchildren.

Tammy Lannette McDonald

Burial will be in the church cemetery with Peoples Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. McDonald died Friday, July 13, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born June 13, 1972, in Limestone County to Ellis and Ida E. Rainey. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Corey McDonald; two sons, Corey McDonald and Jacobly McDonald, both of Athens; two brothers, Donald Rainey and Michael Rainey, both of Athens; and one sister, Jackie Rainey of Athens.

Ladye Joe Meadows
73, retired telephone operator
ATHENS -- Funeral for Ladye Joe Meadows, 73, of Athens was to be today at 3 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Rick Craft and Aaron Johnson officiating.

Burial was to be in Athens City Cemetery.

Mrs. Meadows died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born Sept. 19, 1927, to Joseph Newton White and Frances Ozelle Holland White. She was a retired South Central Bell telephone operator. She was a member and employee of the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program in Athens.

Survivors include two sons, Sonny Meadows and Travis T. Meadows, both of Athens; four daughters, Ladye Carol Wales, Kathy Harris, Patty Joe Meadows and Tracy Davis, all of Athens; two sisters, Jewel Rowe and Mary June Newby, both of Athens; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Mark Wales, Jeff Wales, Buddy Rowe, Steve Malone, Tony Brown and Stephen Nix.

G.T. Norris
59, construction worker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for G.T. Norris, 59, of Hartselle was to be today at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert Smith officiating.

Burial was to be in Center Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Norris died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Aug. 13, 1941, in Morgan County to Albert Norris and Emma Holiday Norris. He was a construction worker.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Norris; one daughter, Mary Ann Hill of Hartselle; five sisters, Aline Burnham and Carolyn Mae Norris, both of Decatur, Minnie Lou May of Hartselle, Ella Dean May of Moulton and Louise Jones of Vinemont; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Horace Owens, Andy Tidwell, Billy Jo Norris, Mike Crowell, Andrew Jones and Fred Tidwell.

David Irvine White
88, retired office manager

Funeral for David Irvine White, 88, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Wells, the Rev. Asa Boozer and the Rev. Charles Boling officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the funeral home.

Mr. White died Sunday, July 15, 2001, in Decatur. He was born Aug. 29, 1912, in Kansas City, Mo., to Gilbert Green way White and Mamie Watkins Hayes White. He was a graduate of Branham and Hughes Military Academy in Springhill, Tenn., and retired from the Alabama Department of Transportation as an office manager after 44 years of employment. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur where he was on the administrative board and a member of the Julian Harris Lend a Hand Sunday school class.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie W. White.

Pallbearers will be Irvine White, Douglas Weinman, Mike Henderson, Jeff Henderson, Jon Anderson, Tom McCutcheon, W.O. Lipscomb, Larry Durham and Dale Johnson.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or to a favorite charity.

Thomas Herman Foster
85, carpenter

HARTSELLE - Graveside service for Thomas Herman Foster , 85, of Hartselle will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 7 at the funeral home.

Mr. Foster died Monday, July 16, 2001, at his home. He was born Nov. 30, 1915, in Scottsboro to Thad A. Foster and Rosa Lee Foster . He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union for 50 years.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Dressler Foster .
