ATHENS -- Funeral for Janice Osborne Klevorn, 61, of Athens will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Larry Sanderson officiating.

Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 5 until 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Klevorn died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at St. Luke Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo. She was born Aug. 22, 1939, in Limestone County to Tommy Osborne and Merle Osborne. She was a member of West Huntsville Church of Christ. She was a member of the Huntsville Chapter of Alabama Association of the Deaf and a member of the Alabama Association of the Deaf. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Klevorn of Athens; one son, Jeff Klevorn of Athens; and one brother, Don Osborne of Athens.

Pallbearers will be Boyce Crocker, Ken Walker, Jerry Smith, Chester Williams, Roy Leslie and Gerry McBride.

Memorials may be made to the Alabama Institute of the Deaf and Blind Huntsville Chapter at 1001 Monroe Street, Huntsville, AL 35801 or the Alabama School for the Deaf, attention Business Affairs, Baynes Hall, South Street, Talledega, AL 35160.

Betty Jane Lane

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Betty Jane Lane, 70, of Hartselle will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earl Holt and the Rev. Mark Goree officiating.

Burial will be in Basham Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lane died at home Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001. She was born Aug. 26, 1930, in Morgan County to Burrel Walker Braswell and Mattie Lou Means Braswell. She a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was the mother of the late Bruce Lane, who died in the Vietnam War.

Survivors include her husband, Harold W. Lane; one son, Terry Lane of Hartselle; one brother, James Braswell of Decatur; and two sisters, Heddy Thompson and Marie Ratliff, both of Hartselle.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Evelyn Edith Myles
76, homemaker

Graveside service for Evelyn Edith Myles, 76, of Ardmore, Tenn., will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Myles died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at Sunbridge Care Nursing Home in Ardmore. She was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Limestone County to Will McBay and Belle Johnson McBay. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Leon Lewter Jr. of Cullman; one daughter, Margaret Dittoe of Manheim, Pa.; two sisters, Maxine Irons and Irene Powers, both of Decatur; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

John Lee Rea
91, retired NASA plumber

HUNTSVILLE -- Graveside service for John Lee Rea, 91, of Huntsville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mapel Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Ledford officiating with Laughlin-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Rea died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Big Springs Manor. He was born Feb. 1, 1910, in Franklin County. He was a retired plumber and steamfitter for NASA.

Survivors include one son, Robert Rea of Decatur; two daughters, Nell Johnston of Huntsville and Fay Ogden of Winston Salem, N.C.; two sisters, Jane Hester of Atlanta and Virginia Longo of Reno, Nev.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mark Terry
43, truck driver

MOULTON -- Funeral for Mark Terry, 43, of Moulton was to be today at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with Charles Clayborn officiating.

Mr. Terry died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in Sikeston, Mo. He was born May 25, 1958, in Lawrence County to Herman Lewis Terry and Vernos Peebles Terry Grisham. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and a truck driver for Emerson Electric Transportation in Missouri. He was the brother of the late Doyle Terry.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth George Terry; three sons, Charles Cramer, Thomas Cramer and Christopher Terry, all of Moulton; one daughter, Lorraine Terry of Moulton; his mother; one brother, Herman Terry Jr. of Moulton; two sisters, Lucy Jordan and Mary Ann Tucker, both of Moulton; and one granddaughter.

Marion Franklin Atkins Jr.
76, funeral director
CULLMAN -- Funeral for Marion Franklin Atkins Jr., 76, of Hanceville will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Smith and the Rev. Dewey Briscoe officiating.

Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Atkins died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at The University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. He was born July 12, 1925, in Georgia. He was a funeral home director of Moss Service and a World War II and Korean War veteran. He was former president of National Quartet Association, Alabama chapter and president of Woodmen Lodge 1894. He was lead singer for Harmoneers Quartet for 18 years and taught cardio pulmonary resuscitation for the American Red Cross four years. He was a member and Trustee of Houston Congregational Christian Church in Houston.

He was the son of the late Marion Franklin Atkins Sr. and Beaulah Jerusha Keel Atkins and brother of the late Inez Moormann and Bernice Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Winnie Lou Atkins; five daughters, Marilyn Whatley of Northport, Jane Campbell of Danville, Beverly Wright of Hanceville, Carol Atkins and Joyce Atkins, both of Cartersville, Ga.; two brothers, W.E. Atkins and Hardie Atkins, both of Cartersville; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Bobby Crawford Barker
88, Healthcare worker

GUIN -- Funeral for Bobby Crawford Barker, 88, of Hamilton will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Norwood Funeral Home with Wayne Voss officiating.

Burial will be in Taylor Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service.

Mrs. Barker died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born in Alabama and had lived in Guin and Hamilton for 30 years. She was a Baptist and a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She worked for the State of Alabama Home Health Care.

She was mother of the late Terry Jo Barker and daughter of the late Willie Garfield and Dora Mae Tingle Crawford.

Survivors include, one sister, Dora Mae Wise of Reno, Nev.; three brothers, Grady Nolan Crawford of Coon Rapids, Minn., James Ray Crawford of Olive Branch, Miss., and Randall M. Crawford of Trenton, Tenn.

Mary Powell Hand
71, homemaker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Mary Powell Hand, 71, of Falkville will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Bell Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hand died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Morgan County to Walter Jasper Powell and Daisy Powell. She was a member of Bell Springs Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Ricky Hand and Bobby Hand, both of Falkville; one daughter, Barbara Hand Duke of Falkville; two brothers, John Powell of Cullman and David Powell of Decatur; and five sisters, Jewell Ball, Dorothy Shadix, Bea Murphy and Gracie Etheridge, all of Cullman, and Martha Cobb of Hartselle; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Leland 'Pete' Carl Harris
58, machinist

Graveside service for Leland "Pete" Carl Harris, 58, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Harris died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Jan. 16, 1943, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Carl Harris and June Marie Harbor Harris. He was a machinist and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Louann Harris; two daughters, Paige Clark of Hartselle and Brooke Harris of Decatur; two sisters; and one granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Fox, Brien Clark, James Tanner, Larry Torain, Jay Anderson and Randy Gillespie.

75, retired school bus driver

Graveside service for Brown Orr Young, 75, of Courtland will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Annie Mae Willingham Memorial Gardens in Courtland with the Rev. David Young officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6 to 7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mr. Young died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born July 31, 1926, in Lawrence County to Bossie Young Sr. and Lessie Orr Young.

He attended Jackson Chapel CME Church. He owned a barbershop in Courtland for 40 years, and he was a bus driver for Lawrence County Schools for 26 years.

Survivors include his wife, Florida "Kate" Young; two brothers, Johnny James Young Sr. and Bossie Young II, both of Courtland.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Young, Joe Young, Wyatt Young Jr., Bossie Young III, Nelson Orr, Charlie Frank Orr, Avery Young and Reginald Young.

James Bythel Earnest
54, Department of Mental Health retiree
Funeral for James Bythel Earnest, 54, of Decatur, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Lewis and the Rev. Duane N. Maas officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Roselawn Funeral Home.

Mr. Earnest died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Winfield to Bernice Weed Earnest and Bythel Earnest. He was retired from the Department of Mental Health in Decatur where he worked for 27 years.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Earnest; two daughters, Savanna Earnest and Jamie Earnest, both of Decatur; and his mother, Bernice Earnest of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Garrison, Ruel Huffman, Larry Vale, Rick Sherman, Glen Sparks, Dr. Larry Latham, John Beasley and Dr. Ron Ivie.

A.Q. Harville
67, aluminum worker

TUSCUMBIA -- Funeral for A.Q. Harville, 67, of Sheffield will be today at 2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Funeral Home with Mike Brooks, the Rev. Ted Vafeas and Father Patrick Tierney officiating.

Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Harville died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Shoals Hospital. He was born March 12, 1934, in Hatton to Dave and Lillian Harville. He was employed by Reynolds Metals for many years and was a member of Aluminum Workers Local 200 of Sheffield. He was a representative with the international union. He was a member of Hatton Masonic Lodge and he was a Shriner.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Patricia Genser Harville; two daughters, Annette Key of Town Creek and Leslie Carrol of Sheffield; one son, Chuck Harville of Sheffield; his mother, Lillian Harville of Town Creek; one sister, Julia Counts of Town Creek; one brother, Y.Z. Harville of Hatton; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
