Idella Freeman Kirby

TANNER -- Funeral for Idella Freeman Kirby, 71, of Athens, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church of America with the Rev. John Jude officiating.

Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery with Peoples Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Kirby died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at her home. She was born Dec. 12, 1930, in Lawrence County to McKinley Freeman and Willie Stovall Freeman. She was a homemaker and a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of Jim Kirby Sr.

Survivors include four sons, Johnny Kirby, Larry Kirby, Billy Kirby and Perry Kirby, all of Athens; one sister, Helen Freeman Creer of Fayetteville, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Henry Alton Lovell

ATHENS -- Funeral for Henry Alton Lovell, 53, of Athens, was to be today at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Bobby Graham, the Rev. Brent Hawkins and the Rev. James Turner officiating.

Burial was to be in Poplar Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Lovell died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born June 17, 1948, in Limestone County to Curtis and Bertha Mae Lovell. He was a processing operator for Bunge Corporation and an Army veteran. He was a member of Market Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Lovell; three daughters, Tammy Hayslett, Christy Newton and Lori-Anne Lovell, all of Athens; three brothers, Dan Lovell of Athens, and John Lovell and Jimmie Lovell, both of Lexington; two sisters, Doris Mae Lovell and Jeannette Weir, both of Athens; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Will Weir, Dwight Lovell, Jesse Lovell, Brad Turner, Chad Abernathy and Teddy Stubblefield.

Bunge Corporation co-workers and friends will be honorary pallbearers.

Louise Marie Moss

ATHENS -- Memorial service for Louise Marie Moss, 85, of Athens will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Joseph Allen officiating.

McConnell Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Burial will be in St. Frances Cemetery in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., with Oclker & Cox Funeral Home directing at a date and time to be anounced later.

Mrs. Moss died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Limestone Health Facility. She was born Feb. 22, 1916, in Mt. Kisco to Anthony DeLaura and Florence Loungo DeLaura. She was a resident of Limestone County since 1983, where she was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Athens Garden Club. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Brewster, N.Y. She was the widow of Alfred Moss and the mother of the late Victor Gonnella Jr. and John Gonnella, and the grandmother of the late Dawn Allfrey and the late Darryl Allfrey.

Survivors include two sons, Louis Gonnella of North Salem, N.Y., and Donald Gonnella of Athens; three daughters, Marion Allfrey of Athens, Tina Patchett of Huntsville and Yole Zellers of Brewster, N.Y.; one brother, Paul DeLaura of Cullman; one sister, Carmella Rocco of White Plains, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to The Dawn Allfrey Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o The University of North Alabama, Wesleyan Ave., Florence, AL 35630, or The Darryl Allfrey Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Athens State University, Pryor St., Athens, AL 35611.

Reba Quinn Nance

Funeral for Reba Quinn Nance, 77, of Decatur will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Allenter officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Nance died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born July 20, 1924, to Early Quinn and Elizabeth Coleman Quinn. She was the widow of James William Nance and the mother of the late Bruce William Nance. She was a member of Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Senoth Nance of Decatur and Kenetha Lambert of Bay Minette; one sister, Senoth Smith of Leesville, S.C.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Scott Nance, Clint Dawson, Michael Callahan, Hunter Nance, Jimmy Mann, and Ray Quinn.

Katenna Fain Strickland

ATHENS -- Funeral for Katenna Fain Strickland, of Athens, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church with the Rev. Dusty McLemore officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with McConnell Funeral Home directing.. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. The body will be in the church a half hour before the service.

Mrs. Strickland died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at her mother's home. She was born in Lester to Howard B. Fain and Lois L. Jackson Fain. She was a retired insurance administrator for Mutual Savings Life Insurance Company in Decatur. She was a member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Joel Strickland; three sons, Kent Gatlin of Athens, Morris Ray Gatlin Jr. of Moulton, and Kevin J. Strickland of Russellville; two daughters, Vicki L. Jones and Deana M. Henson, both of Huntsville; her mother of Athens; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Don Schaffer, Bill Kennemer, Louis Bedingfield, Owen Ezell, Mike Newby and Sonny Schofield.

Sons-in-law will be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Lindsay Lane Baptist Church or Hospice of Limestone County.

Brian Williams Brumbeloe
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Brian Williams Brumbeloe, 27, of Falkville will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Corinth United Methodist Church West in Cullman County with the Rev. Charles Forman officiating.

Burial will be in Corinth West Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Brumbeloe died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, in Morgan County. He was born March 14, 1974, in Morgan County to Larry Warren Brumbeloe and Judy Diane Brumbeloe Keenum. He was a senior at Athens State University and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was the grandson of the late Jeanette Williams and Hobert "Jack" Brumbeloe.

Survivors include his parents; his stepfather who reared him, Gene Keenum of Falkville; one sister, Sherry Brumbeloe of Falkville; two stepbrothers, Chuck Keenum and Chris Keenum, both of Falkville; two stepsisters, Cindy Stephenson of Hartselle and Cathy Sheppe, of Wisconsin; his grandparents, Millard Williams and Katheryn Brumbeloe, both of Falkville; and his step-grandparents, Fred Keenum and Lola Burt Keenum.

Uncles will be pallbearers.

Mable Elizabeth Hughes Gulley

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Mable Elizabeth Hughes Gulley of Athens will be today at 11 a.m. at Limestone Memorial Gardens with Terry Hobbs officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Gulley died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at her daughter's home in Athens. She was a native of Limestone County and a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris J. Hughes Hobbs and Faye Hughes Beckham, both of Athens; three brothers, Lloyd McNatt, J.W. McNatt and Gilbert McNatt, all of Athens; two sisters, Ora Lee Burroughs of Rogersville and Ann Chittam of Decatur; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Jimmie Lee Moore

Funeral for Jimmie Lee Moore, 93, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Apostolic Church of God with the Rev. Kelvin Davis officiating.

Burial will be in Steers Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Miss Moore died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born April 15, 1908, in Limestone County to John Moore and Tera Della Jones Moore. She was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Church of God, where she served on the mother's board, was active in Sunday school and led the praise and worship team. She was the mother of the late Henry Louis Davis.

Survivors include one brother, John R. Moore of Athens; two sisters, Lenora Stinnett of Lester and Lucille Horton of Gary, Ind.; three grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 14 great great-grandchildren; and 11 great great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Trice, Fedois Brown, James Evans, David Taylor, Jimmy Allen and Thomas Sykes.

Noah Alfred Wynn

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Noah Alfred Wynn, 70, of Neel will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Callahan and the Rev. Charles Sparks officiating.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Wynn died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at his home. He was born June 6, 1931, in Morgan County to Noah Wynn and Lucille Roberts Wynn. He was a farmer. He was the brother of the late Loyd Wynn and Bobby Gene Wynn.

Survivors include his wife, Bar-bara Kelsoe Wynn; two sons, Kee-nan Wynn and Jason Wynn, both of Neel; one daughter, Denise Wynn Hayes of Priceville; one brother, Billy Wynn of Neel; one sister, Louise Roberson of Hart- selle; and two granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be Leon Wall- ace, Hal White, Donald Bullard, Jack Mattox, Ray Warren, Bill Kelsoe, Bruce Borden and Paul Prince.

Laura Lou Beasley
ATHENS -- Funeral for Laura Lou Beasley, 95, of Lester will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Blankenship officiating.

Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be in the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Beasley died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at her daughter's home. She was born March 8, 1906, in Limestone County to Wiley D. Crowson and Florence Crowson. She was a retired Limestone County School teacher who taught for 50 years. She was a member of the Retired Teacher Association and the United Methodist Women's Missionary Society. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Coleman Beasley. She was the mother of the late William "Bill" Crowson Beasley.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Stanley Beasley of Athens and Robert "Bobby" Maurice Beasley of Lester; one daughter, Dean Green haw of Athens; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons and great-grandsons will be pallbearers.

Ruby Sutton Leggett McGarr

Funeral for Ruby Sutton Leggett McGarr, 96, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and formerly of Decatur will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Raymond Ragsdale officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours before the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. McGarr died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg. She was born Oct. 22, 1904, in New Hope to James Sutton and Frances Sutton. She was a homemaker and a former resident of Presbyterian Towers in Decatur.

Survivors include one son, James Butts of College Grove, Tenn.; three daughters, Dorothy Mason of St. Petersburg, Betty Walker of Lake Toxaway, N.C., and Jean Smitham of Iron City, Mich.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Myrtle Gladys Shelton

TRINITY -- Funeral for Myrtle Gladys Shelton, 90, of Moulton will be today at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Estes Hardin and Stanley Linderman officiating.

Funeral was to be in Sivley Cemetery.

Mrs. Shelton died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born Sept. 29, 1910, in Morgan County to Jasper Glenn and Lillie Tomlin Glenn. She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Grove Holly Church of Christ. She was the widow of Martin Homer Shelton.

Survivors include three sons, Martin Gilbert Shelton of Moulton, Oneal Shelton of Decatur and MacArthur Shelton of Danville; one daughter, Virginia Hill of Danville; two brothers, Cecil Glenn of Birmingham and Elmer Glenn of Danville; three sisters, Grace Norris of Decatur, Frances Kelly of Hammond, Ind. and Jean Slayton of Louisiana; eleven grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Bernice French Smith

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Bernice French Smith, 90, of Hartselle will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Garnett officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation. She was born May 16, 1911, in Morgan County to Hayden LeRoy French and Mary Daisy Mardis French. She was a homemaker and a member of Red Hill United Methodist Church in Attalla. She was the widow of Elvis Smith.

Survivors include two sons, Donald J. Smith of Hartselle and Larry E. Smith of Birmingham; one daughter, Evangeline Smith of Hartselle; one brother, Roy H. French of Attalla; one sister, Vera Mae Green of South Haven, Mich.; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kerry Smith, Jason Kilimas, Gerald Smith, Anthony Smith, Doug Smith and Dustin Oakley.
