Felton M. Ball

HARTSELLE -- Graveside service for Felton M. Ball, 69, of Cullman will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Panama Cemetery in Cullman County with Peck Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 5:30 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Ball died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Jackson-Madison General Hospital in Jackson, Tenn. He was born June 22, 1930, in Randolph County to Samuel Andrew Ball and Georgia Ann Sellers Ball.

He is survived by two brothers, Roy Ball of Falkville and Junior Ball of Vinemont; and one sister, Mildred Young of Anniston.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Josie Lorene Blevins
71, homemaker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Josie Lorene Blevins, 71, of Falkville will be today at 2 p.m. at Hills Chapel Church of God with the Rev. Ray Hanvey and the Rev. Fred Nichols officiating.

Burial will be in Childers Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Blevins died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at home. She was born Dec. 18, 1927, in Morgan County to Homer and Dema Childers. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of God. She was the widow of Luther Blevins.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny Blevins and Jimmie Blevins, both of Falkville; one daughter, Gail Blevins of Falkville; her father of Hartselle; one brother, Howard Childers of Hartselle; one sister, Mabel Pruitt of Hartselle; four grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Sam Myres, Brad Freeman, Jason Blevins, Steve Turney, Ronald Childers and Robin Kent.

Della E. Freels
92, homemaker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Della E. Freels, 92, of Hartselle will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Alton Elrod officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.

Mrs. Freels died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born June 28, 1907, in Blount County to John O. Elrod and Clara Tigge Elrod. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. She was the mother of the late Louis Carl Arban.

She is survived by three daughters, Margaret Marie Wiley of Garden City, Mich., Marion V. Tait of Ocala, Fla., and Sarah Frances Eberline of Ecorse, Mich.; one sister, Mildred Arban of Knoxville; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Standridge, Michael Tait, Edward Edmondson, Marion Wiley, Kevin Edmondson and Jimmy Elrod.

Helen Virginia Givens
68, retired business owner

TRINITY -- Funeral for Helen Virginia Hill Givens, 68, of Courtland will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Courtland Baptist Church with Scotty Letson and Buddy Simmons officiating.

Burial will be in Courtland City Cemetery with Parkway Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Givens died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at home. She was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Lawrence County to Leland Hill and Alma Terry. She was a retired restaurant owner and a member of Courtland Garden Club, Joy Sunday school class and Ladies Sharing Group.

She is survived by her husband, Jessie Lyndon "Son" Givens; one son, Gary Lyndon Givens of Courtland; one daughter, Genice Givens Ballew of Courtland; her mother, Susie Hill of Courtland; six brothers, James Hill of Town Creek, Coy Hill of Decatur, Dwight Terry, Dan Terry and Charles R. Terry, all of Town Creek, and Nathaniel "Hop" Terry of Priceville; four sisters, Yvonne Vines, Peggy Terry and Betty Randolph, all of Town Creek, and Katie Hill of Moulton; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Boyd Reding, James Blankenship, Randy Givens, Anthony Givens, Jerome Jaggars, Kenny Reding, Amber Reding and Dan Simmons.

Elzo Johnson Massey
86, homemaker

MOULTON -- Funeral for Elzo Johnson Massey, 86, of Decatur, formerly of Mount Hope, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Mount Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Hall officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Methodist Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Massey died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at her daughter's home in Huntsville. She was born in Lawrence County to John and Ethel Walker Johnson. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of Hillman Massey and the mother of the late Sherman Massey.

She is survived by two sons, Shelby Massey of Collierville, Tenn., and Alva Massey of Hatton; one daughter, Dawn Kirby of Huntsville; four sisters, Hettie Boyd of Tuscumbia, Syble Parker and Melba Wilson, both of Florence, and Bobbie Sue Hagood of Hatton; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Gooch McAllister

HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral arrangements for Janelle Louise Gooch McAllister, 50, of Huntsville, formerly of Manchester, Tenn., will be announced by Laughlin Service Funeral Home.

Among the survivors is her sister, Mary Elizabeth Pujol of Decatur.

Clifton Junior 'Mac' McLemore

PONTIAC, Mich. -- Funeral for Clifton Junior "Mac" McLemore, 69, of Pontiac will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Huntoon Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in Perry Mountain Park Cemetery.

Mr. McLemore died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999. He was born in Hillsboro to James and Gertrude McLemore. He was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from General Motors Truck & Bus after 32½ years and from Palace of Auburn Hills after 11 years. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local No. 594.

He is survived by his wife, Mary McLemore; two sons, Kelvin Paul McLemore of Marlette, Mich., and Robert Wayne McLemore of Pontiac; four daughters, Donna McLemore and Brenda Palmer, both of Florida, Margaret Bridgewater of Pontiac and Wendi McLemore of Orion, Mich.; three brothers; four sisters; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Charles 'Pee Wee' Nichols
55, Delphi inspector

Funeral for Charles "Pee Wee" Nichols, 55, of Hartselle will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Campbell and Anthony Muston officiating.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Nichols died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1944, in Lawrence County to James Wilbur Nichols and Willie Frances Pate Nichols. A member of Donald Baptist Church in Town Creek, he was an avid golfer, a 1964 graduate of Hazlewood High School and a quality-control inspector for Delphi Saginaw Steering Systems.

He is survived by his wife, Sherri Ann Nichols; one son, Timothy Shane Nichols of Danville; one daughter, Nichelle Nichols Sapp of Danville; four brothers, James Dale Nichols of New Mexico, Willard Earl Nichols and Ervin Nichols, both of Town Creek, and Orbin John Nichols of Decatur; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Freddie Holmes, Ronnie Graves, Wesley Hill, Michael Hill, Jimmy Tidwell and VaShon Tidwell.

Co-workers will be honorary pallbearers.

Perlie P. Patterson

MOULTON -- Funeral for Perlie P. Patterson, 88, of Town Creek will be today at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Sanderson and the Rev. Wheeler Kidd officiating.

Burial will be in Providence Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Miss Patterson died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 8, 1911, in Lawrence County to William Jerry and Nancy Emma Patterson. She was a member of Hatton Eastern Star No. 879 and was Lawrence County Senior Citizen Queen in 1998. She was the sister of the late Albert Patterson, W.A. "Buster" Patterson, Curtis Patterson and Fannie Patterson.

She is survived by two brothers, Bob Patterson of Aberdeen, Miss., and Alton "Lank" Patterson of Biloxi, Miss.

Cousins will be pallbearers.

Trubie Kelly Sterling
79, former owner of home for aged

Graveside service for Trubie Kelly Sterling, 79, of Decatur, formerly of Haleyville, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Winston Memorial Cemetery with Hugh Bohling and Mike King officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.Mrs. Sterling died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born April 10, 1920, in Haleyville. She was the former owner of Kelly Home for the Aged. She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Florence State Teachers College, now the University of North Alabama.

She is survived by one daughter, Nelda Knight of Decatur; two brothers, John Mobley of Pelham and Earl Mobley of Panama City Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Johnnie Pruitt Ward
72, NASA retiree

Memorial service for Johnnie Pruitt Ward, 72, of Decatur will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Mark Tolbert officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Ward died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at home. He was born July 25, 1927, in Morgan County to Arley and James Ward. A member of Central Baptist Church, he retired from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Faye N. Ward; one daughter, Tammy Ward Hoffman of Decatur; and two brothers, Harlon Ward and Billy Ward, both of Hartselle.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, P.O. Box 2745, Decatur, AL 35601.
