Cordia Wilcutt Anders

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Cordia Wilcutt Anders, 86, of Falkville was to be today at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Falkville with the Rev. Jack Lovelace officiating.

Burial was to be in Falkville City Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Anders died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Dec. 5, 1914, in Cullman County to W.J. Wilcutt and Minnie Alice Cook Wilcutt. She was the widow of Hansell D. Anders and mother of the late Fred Alton Anders. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Falkville and a homemaker.

Survivors include one daughter, Estelle A. Teague of Falkville; one brother, Delmar O. Wilcutt of Terre Haute, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Leo E. Conahan

Graveside service with military honors for Leo E. Conahan, 64, of Decatur will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Mike Gibson officiating and Rideout's-Brown Service Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Conahan died Sept. 4, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Aug. 7, 1937, in Chicago. He was a retired explosive ordinance device instructor after having served 11 years in the U.S. Army and nine years in the Marine Corp. Military honors he received include the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and numerous meritorious medals.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Conahan; two stepdaughters, Tina Worley of Decatur and Donna Langston of Birmingham; one stepson, Frank Williams of Decatur; and seven grandchildren.

Chad Lamar Greatouse

HOLLY POND -- Funeral for Chad Lamar Greatouse, 29, of Holly Pond will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Union Grove Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Hermon "Dink" Lambert officiating.

Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery with Holly Pond Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Greatouse died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1972, in Decatur to Marvin Franklin Greatouse Jr. and Starr Morgan. He was a computer technician at Computer Support Systems in Decatur. He was a member of Union Grove Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Marie Love Greatouse; his parents of Caddo; and one sister, Cindy Greatouse of Caddo.

Grady Parker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Grady Parker, 90, of Hartselle will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Wilson and the Rev. Jody Hill officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Garden with Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Parker died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation of Decatur. He was born Jan. 7, 1911, in Morgan County to Robert G. Parker and Nolabell King Parker. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle and the Morgan County and Alabama Singing conventions. He retired from Goodyear Mills.

Survivors include his wife, Emma D. Parker; two sons, Phillip Parker of Decatur and Paul Parker of Montgomery; two daughters, Peggy Sivley of Decatur and Margaret Olmstead of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Hartselle, 210 Woodland St. Hartselle, AL 35640.

Orlander Jasper 'O.J.' Pitt

MONROE, Mich. -- Funeral for Orlander Jasper "O.J." Pitt, 77, of Monroe will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Southerland officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park at LaSalle, Mich., with Rupp Funeral Home directing. The family was to receive friends today from noon until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. His body will be at the church Thursday one hour before services.

Mr. Pitt died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, at University Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born Feb. 10, 1924, in Lawrence County to Lois Pitt and Evelyn Little Pitt. He worked 27 years at Consolidated Paper Co. in Monroe and retired after 13 years at General Motor Corp.'s Fort Street Plant in Detroit. He was a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. He was the widower of Christene A. Hurst Pitt and the father of the late Orlando James Pitt.

Survivors include two sons, Ferrel Pitt and Barry Pitt, both of Monroe; four sisters, Ruth Moore of Monroe, Edna Hardin of Falkville, Kathleen Darnell of Decatur and Freda Standford of Huntsville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pat Robinson

PRICEVILLE -- Funeral for Pat Robinson, 54, of Priceville will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Priceville Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Robershaw officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Robinson died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at her home. She was born June 14, 1947, in Alabama to George Carter Gothard and Sibyl Sparks Gothard. She was owner /mechanic at Priceville Marine.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Robinson; one son, William Allen Salmon of Hartselle; two daughters, Patricia Butler of Toney and Donna Henshaw of New Market; her mother, Sibyl Sparks Reed of Cashpoint, Tenn.; three brothers, Neal Gothard of Gadsden, Bobby Gothard of Decatur and Jerry Gothard of Scottsboro; three sisters, Irene Bunn of Toney, Doris Barnette of Ardmore and Betty Armstrong of Brighton, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of Priceville Volunteer Fire Department.

Ruth Barker Shelton

ATHENS -- Funeral for Ruth Barker Shelton, 84, of Athens was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Jack Baldwin, Warren Glass and George Dudley officiating. Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Shelton died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Aug. 19, 1917, in Limestone County to Jim Barker and Mattie Morris Barker. She retired as a schoolteacher for the Limestone County Board of Education after 47 years. She was a member of Market Street Church of Christ, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, American Association of Retired Persons, Retired Teachers Association and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She was Community Education Woman of the Year and American Legion Auxiliary Post 49 Woman of the Year. She was the widow of Ed Shelton.

Survivors include two daughters, Helen Ruth Duncan and Edria Ann Norton, both of Athens; one sister, Sally Barker Hess of Decatur; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Kenneth Porter, Butch Elledge, Tim Barksdale, James Landtroop, Joel Glaze, Jimmy Brewer, Justin Black and Timmy Johns.

L.C. Sizemore

SHEFFIELD -- L.C. Sizemore, 69, of Muscle Shoals died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 14, 1932, in Leighton to Luther Sizemore and Bessie Smith Sizemore. He was brother of the late Billy Sizemore and stepfather of the late Bob Roe.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Sizemore; two sons, L.C. Sizemore Jr. of Muscle Shoals and Anthony Sizemore of Tuscumbia; one daughter, Rhonda Sizemore McGregor of Muscle Shoals; two stepdaughters, Sheryl Roe Dodge of Arizona and Ann Roe Jairam of Muscle Shoals; two brothers, Gene Sizemore of Town Creek and Harry Sizemore of Moulton; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Shoals, 115 Fairgrounds Road, Florence.

Spry Serenity Chapel handled arrangements.

James Frank Bell
Funeral for James Frank Bell, 51, of Decatur will be Friday at noon at Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church in Belle Mina with the Rev. James Franklin officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Memorial Gardens with Reynolds Funeral Home directing.

The body will be in the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Bell died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Sept. 9, 1949 in Limestone County. He was a graduate of Morgan County Training School in Hartselle and he was a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Bell; two sons, James Frank Mosley and Tavaris Shae Reynolds, both of Decatur; three daughters, Angela Jones, Angie Wray and Catina Reynolds, all of Decatur; his parents, Isabelle Bell Pryor of Belle Mina and Frank Bell of Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Willie Bell of Courtland; two sisters, Barbara Bell of Milwaukee, Wis. And Shirley Bell of Detroit, Mich.; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Victor Stewart, DeWayne Campbell, Matthew Mosley, Phillip Harris, Marcus Satchel and Mario Campbell.

John Alfred Blachowski Sr.

Funeral for John Alfred Blachowski Sr., 88, of Decatur will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Morningside Assisted Living with the Rev. Bill Simons officiating.

Burial will be in Oakville Cemetery in Prattville. The family will receive friends one hour before the service Saturday.

Mr. Blachowski died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, in Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence. He was born Aug. 26, 1913, in Chicago. He was a member of Ninth Street Methodist Church. He served four years in the Army Air Corp and retired from Skil-Tools of Chicago after 45 years.

Survivors include one son, John E. Blachowski of Aurora, Colo.; one daughter, Barbara Kramer of Clarksville, Ga.; one brother, Leon Black of Criveitz, Wis.; one sister, Margie Loshe of Gainesville, Ga., four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Marjorie B. Boyd

McCOMB, MISS. -- Funeral for Marjorie Brekeen Boyd, 76, of McComb will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Hartman Funeral Home with David Millican officiating.

Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 9 and Friday morning from 8 to 10 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boyd died at home Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001. She was born March 8, 1925, in Kokomo, Miss., to Quiller C. Brekeen and Rosa Stubbs Brekeen. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McComb and a retired manager for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad Credit Union. She was the widow of James L. Boyd.

Survivors include two sons, Jim Boyd of Trinity and Philip Boyd of McComb; her mother of Metairie, La.; one brother, Walter Brekeen of McComb; one sister, Wanda B. Spinner of Metairie; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Sean Boyd, Shannon Boyd, Shane Boyd, Walter Brekeen Jr., Bill Brekeen and Fred Adams.

Irvin "Dock" Oliver

TRINITY -- Funeral for Irvin "Dock" Oliver, 72, of Moulton will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Shelton officiating.

Burial will be in Washer Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Oliver died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at his home. He was born March 13, 1929, in Lawrence County, to George Oliver and Mattie Harville Oliver. He was retired as a railroad worker in Illinois.

Survivors include two sons, Irvin Oliver and George Oliver, both of Illinois; and one sister, Easter Burden of Moulton.

Pallbearers will be George Morgan, Jerry Gibson, James Gibson, Heath Gibson, Brandon Gibson and Bill Brady.

Jimmie J. Parker

MOULTON -- Funeral for Jimmie J. Parker, 92, of Moulton will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwight Nesmith and the Rev. Chris Parker officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Garden. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home two hours before services.

Mr. Parker died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at South Morgan Health Care Center in Decatur. He was born Nov. 30, 1908, in Lawrence County to William Parker and Mary Saint Parker. He was a retired farmer and a member of Conway Baptist Church. He was the widower of Elsie Burney Parker and the father of the late Aaron Parker.

Survivors include two sons, Gene Parker of Moulton and Price Parker of Michigan; one daughter, Shirley Jenkins of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Travis Joey Powers

BOGART, Ga. -- Funeral for Travis Joey Powers, 16, of Athens, Ga., was Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home West with the Rev. Dan Fuller and the Rev. Mike Ricks officiating.

Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park.

The teen died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001. He was born Oct. 17, 1984, in Clarke County, Ga. He was a student at Athens Area Technical College and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. His parents, Joe and Lisa Powers, of Bogart, are former longtime Decatur residents.

In addition to his parents, survivors include one sister, Caitlin Powers of Bogart; and grandparents, Travis and Rosie Jett of Watkinsville, Ga.
