Elbert Tuder Jr.

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Elbert Tuder Jr., 77, of Somerville will be today at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Ira Williams and the Rev. John Walker officiating.

Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery north of Brooksville with Masonic graveside service. The family will receive friends today from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Tuder died at home Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001. He was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Illinois to Elbert Tuder Sr. and Lorene DeVine Tuder.

He was a retired farmer, a member of Somerville United Methodist Church and Somerville Fraternity Lodge No. 721 for 50 years. He was the brother of the late Charles Tuder and the stepbrother of the late James Houser, Floyd Houser, Yvonne Cook and Pauline Maxwell.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Tuder; four sons, Charles Tuder of Hartselle, Jack Tuder of Decatur, Dean Tuder of Somerville and John Tuder of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Ann Edwards of Decatur and Katherine Sue Ransom of Somerville; three sisters, Betty Houser and Lorene Glover, both of Somerville, and Marvalene Fowler of Eatonton, Ga.; and four stepbrothers, Doyle Houser and Lawrence Houser, both of Somerville, and Calvin Houser and Davis Houser, both of Guntersville; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Gary Dobbs, Michael Dobbs, Jerry Dobbs, Steve Dobbs, Van Houser and Konan Houser.

Nettie V. Gray

HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral for Nettie V. Gray, 71, of Morgan City, was to be today at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville with the Rev. Al Long officiating.

Burial was to be in Gurley Cemetery.

Mrs. Gray died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at her son's home in Morgan City. She was born June 13, 1930, in Madison County to William Thomas Elliott and Betty Elizabeth Fanning Elliott. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleas Mount Baptist Church in Gurley. She was the widow of Herbert Gray and mother of the late Carolyn Ann Gray.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Howard Gray of Morgan City, Gary Dale Gray of Hampton Cove and Herbert Jeffrey Gray of Gurley; one brother, Robert Lewis Elliott of Lacey's Springs; three sisters, Irene Fanning and Vera Lee Pierce, both of Gurley, and Francis Pierce of Hazel Green ; and one grandson.

Pallbearers were to be Danny Simmons, Mike Pence, Eugene Gray, Danny Pierce, Joe Gray and J.H. Miller.

Calvin M. Kelsoe

TRINITY -- Funeral for Calvin M. Kelsoe, 73, of Falkville was to be today at 2 p.m. at Lebanon Church of God with the Rev. Willie Delashaw, the Rev. Ted Agee and Justin Kelsoe officiating.

Burial was to be in Lebanon Cemetery. The body was to be in the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Kelsoe died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Dec. 31, 1927, in Lawrence County to Will Kelsoe and Lizzie Kelsoe. He was a bulldozer operator. He was the father of the late Butch Kelsoe.

Survivors include three sons, Gary M. Kelsoe of Hillsboro, Ronnie J. Kelsoe of Speake and Bruce D. Kelsoe of Falkville; two brothers, Bill Kelsoe and Quinton Kelsoe, both of Speake; one sister, Mavis Vernon of Speake; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Todd Kelsoe, Warren Kelsoe, Justin Kelsoe, Benny Hill, Rodney Parker, Shane Griffith, Steve Kelsoe and Paul Crow.

George W. Prince Sr.

ARAB -- Funeral for George W. Prince Sr., 83, of Morgan City was to be today at 11 a.m. at Rescue United Methodist Church with the Rev. Woody Harbin, the Rev. Woodrow Franklin and the Rev. A.Q. Stracner officiating.

Burial will be in Rescue Cemetery with Arab Heritage Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Prince died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Beverly Health Care in Arab. He was born Feb. 22, 1918, in Morgan County to Campbell Prince and Cloe Metcalf Prince. He was a retired electrician from Hutchens Co. in Huntsville and a member of Rescue United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Brooks Prince; two sons, George W. Prince Jr. of Ryan and Garry Prince of Oleander; two daughters, Joyce Holt and Brenda Thornton, both of Athens; one brother, Clyde Prince of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Pallbearers were to be Terry Clemons, Ricky Prince, Chris Prince, Gary Prince Jr., Greg Prince and Ty Holt.

Ophelia Parker Alexander
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Ophelia Parker Alexander, 73, of Moulton will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jackie Shelton and the Rev. Neil Carter officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens with Elliott Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Mrs. Alexander died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Feb. 27, 1928, in Lawrence County to Robert Luther Parker and Lillie Irene Stockton Parker. She was the widow of Willard Alexander. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was a clerk at King's Department Store in Moulton.

Survivors include one son, Alton Alexander of Moulton; one daughter, Anita Lamon of Trinity; one brother, Clayton Parker of Trinity; two sisters, Bobby Nell Evans and Ozelle Johnson, both of Moulton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brian Lamon, Tommy Hale, Randall Simpson, Michael McCullough, Richard Heflin and Mike Parker.

Glen Albert Beddingfield II

ATHENS -- Funeral for Glen Albert Beddingfield II, 43, of Athens will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Don Osborne officiating.

Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Beddingfield died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. He was born June 20, 1958, in Athens to Glen and Jane Beddingfield. He was a Federal Mogul machine operator and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Leigh Cobb of Hartselle; his parents of Athens; two sisters, Laura Beddingfield of Birmingham and Ginger Adams of Maryville, Tenn.; his grandmother, Athelene Sandlin of Athens; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wes Clark, Danny Adams, Russell Beddingfield, Wayne Sandlin, Thomas McKee and Daryl Gutherie.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Sandra White Davis

ATHENS -- Funeral for Sandra White Davis, 51, of Tanner will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at 7-Mile Post Road Church of Christ with Dwight Ridinger, Bill Irby, Joe Curtis and Dan Binkley officiating.

Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends following the service.

Mrs. Davis died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Feb. 19, 1950, in Athens to Wallace White and Hazel White. She was a teacher at Cowart Elementary School and a member of the 7-Mile Post Road Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Limestone County Probate Judge Michael L. Davis; two sons, Lance Davis and Chad Davis, both of Athens; one daughter, Kristi Davis of Athens; her mother of Athens; and one grandson.

Pallbearers will be Paul Ridgeway, Billy Shannon, Jimmy White, Tommy Crosslin, Morris Schrimsher, Ted Davis and Bill White.

Memorials may be made to the 7-Mile Post Road Church of Christ Building Fund, 14435 7-Mile Post Road, Athens, AL. 35611, Senior Health Center, 203 Sanders St., Athens, AL. 35611 and Hospice of Limestone County, 405 S. Marion St., Athens, AL. 35611.

Frankie Lynn Hamilton

TRINITY -- Funeral for Frankie Lynn Hamilton, 39, of Hartselle will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Herman Jones and the Rev. Jimmy Newman officiating.

Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hamilton died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at his home. He was born Sept. 12, 1962, in Morgan County to Frank Hamilton and Evelyn Jones. He was a forklift operator.

Survivors include two daughters, Amber Lynn Hamilton and Amanda Hamilton, both of Hillsboro; two brothers, James Jones of Hartselle and Winford Willhite of Chealybeate; four sisters, Ligita Treadway of Trinity, Felicia Hamilton of Chealybeate, Robin Mills of Hartselle and Connie Goodwin of Palmer, Tenn.; his parents, Frank Hamilton of Chealybeate and Evelyn Jones of Decatur; and his stepparents, Nathan N. Jones of Decatur and Virginia Hamilton of Chealybeate.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Poarch, James N. Jones, Mike Treadway, LaRon Aday, Oneal Treadway and Chad Treadway.

Shirley Frances Hullett

Funeral for Shirley Frances Hullett, 65, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Garner Memorial CME Church with the Rev. Hattie Loving officiating.

Burial will be in Sterrs Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Hullett died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, in Montgomery. She was born Feb. 6, 1936, in Morgan County to James Jones and Robert Wright Jones. She was a member of Garner Memorial CME Church where she served on the stewardess board. She was retired from the Lurleen B. Wallace Developmental Center.

Survivors include one son, Clyde Lee Hullett of Decatur; two daughters, Betty Barren of Montgomery and Lisa Cyrus of Decatur; one brother, Jessie Jones of Jacksonville, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Charlie French, Ozell Stevenson, Eugene Cohn, Leon Johnson, and Leo Gray.

Trannie Mae Ray

TRINITY -- Funeral for Trannie Mae Ray, 82, of Trinity was to be today at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Jones and the Rev. Edward LouAllen officiating.

Burial was to be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Ray died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at her home. She was born Aug. 6, 1919, in Lawrence County to Harvey Terry and Rosa Lee Terry. She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Ray; two daughters, Faye Woodard of Trinity and Gail Nichols of Neel; two sisters, Pauline Brown of Decatur and Carrie Kelly of Michigan; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Stacey Woodard, J.T. Nichols, Marty McLemore, J.W. Wallace, Johnny Dean Warren and Anthony Black.

Opal B. Roberts

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Funeral for Opal B. Roberts, 88, of Tallahassee will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Culley's Meadow Wood Funeral Home with the Rev. Rich Kincl officiating.

Burial will be in Culley's Meadow Wood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Roberts died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at Tallahassee Community Hospital. She was born July 5, 1913, in Decatur to William L. Barnes and Vinnie Stovall Barnes. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a former member of Austinville United Methodist Church. She moved to Tallahassee in 1958.

Survivors include two daughters, Gayle Hogan and Carolyn Arnett, both of Tallahassee; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Bessie Jones Worden

MOULTON -- Funeral for Bessie Jones Worden, 94, of Leighton will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Roger Bond officiating.

Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Worden died Monday Sept. 24, 2001, at her home. She was born Sept. 19, 1907, in Lawrence County, to Vennet Murphree and Lela Murphree. She was a homemaker and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Lawrence County and attended Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Spring Valley. She was the widow of Myrt Jones Earl Worden and the mother of the late Carl Jones and Dewey Jones.

Survivors include one son, Clayton Jones of Decatur; two daughters, Louise Shelton of Leighton and Etta Mae Terry of Tuscaloosa; one brother, Elmer Murphree of Moulton; two sisters, Lillie Mae Frost and Vera Murphree, both of Moulton; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.
