Tempie C. McBride

Funeral for Tempie C. McBride, 74, of Decatur will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Carlisle officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. McBride died today, Nov. 7, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born April 15, 1926, in Lauderdale County. She was the widow of Howard L. McBride and sister of the late Ruby Mann and Jones Webb.

Survivors include one son, Michael L. McBride of Decatur; four sisters, Mary Flippo of Decatur, Louise Pickens, Jewell Jones and Marie Webb, all of Florence; and two granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be Frank Bynum, Shane McNeill, Pfc. Jesse Strand, Larry Roberts, Robert Bryant and Jim Fowler.

B. Edward Melson

MOULTON -- Funeral for B. Edward Melson, 76, of Moulton was to be today at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Ralph Stout officiating.

Burial was to be in Moulton Memory Gardens.

Mr. Melson died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Lawrence County, to George Melson and Nancy McVay Melson. He was a retired teacher and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Joy Lynn Pounds of Austin, Tex.; one brother, Arnold Melson of Danville; three sisters, Irene Melson of Moulton, Bessie Sutton of Carbon Hill, Eddie Mae Whitlock of Moulton; and two grandchildren.

Marcia Renee Riedberger

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Marcia Renee Riedberger, 48, of Hartselle will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Valhermoso Springs First Christian Church with the Rev. Tom Campbell officiating.

Burial will be in Valhermosa Springs Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Riedberger died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. She was born July 1, 1953, in Morgan County to Patrick Matkin and Betty Thomas Matkin, and worked as a dental hygienist for Dr. Mark Pullen and Dr. Blanca Whitt. She was a member of Valhermoso Springs First Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Scott Riedberger; one son, Chance Sparks of Hartselle; five daughters, Jessica Streak of Atlanta, Tiffany Johnston of Houston, Tex., Devin Anton and Kody Sparks, both of Hartselle, and Summer Riedberger of College Station, Tex.; her parents of Valhermoso Springs; two sisters, Michelle Matkin of Valhermoso Springs and Tricia Stevens of Alabaster; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Brent Riedberger, Simon Streak, Jess Johnston, Adam Anton, Brian Neumann and Matthew Woods.

Carl Gene Hembree

TRINITY -- Funeral for Carl Gene Hembree, 56, of Danville, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Francis Proctor officiating.

Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hembree died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born Sept. 1, 1945, in Lawrence County to Roy Hembree and Lena Johnson Hembree. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include one daughter, Beth Hembree Hensley of Moulton; and one brother, Clyde Hembree of Danville.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Don Hill, Wade Hill, Steve Kelsoe, Wayne Hensley, Don Johnson and Rex McNeese.

Barbara Fay Johnson

ATHENS -- Funeral for Barbara Fay Johnson, 52, of Athens was to be today at 1 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Blankenship officiating.

Burial was to be in Athens Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Johnson died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at her home. She was born June 23, 1949, in Morgan County to William D. Hamack and Lela Mae Reed Hamack.

Survivors include one daughter, Ginger Ann Colwell of Hendersonville, N.C.; one sister, Shirley Fay Holloway of Decatur; her father of Decatur; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Dyer Reed, James Moore, Paul Hammack, Hollis Sledge and Jarred Holloway.

Rebekah Kathleen King

HARTSELLE -- Rebekah Kathleen King, 31, of Decatur died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital.

She was born Jan. 29, 1970, in Texas to Gerald R. King and Esther C. Barnett King. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Weston Rhodes of Decatur; her mother of Decatur; two brothers, Stephan King of Montgomery and Daniel King of Nashville; and two sisters, Beth Gillette and Laura Dutton, both of Decatur.

Jenny Loree Swann Nicholson

HANCEVILLE -- Funeral for Jenny Loree Swann Nicholson, 30, of Gordo was to be today at 11 a.m. at Northside Church of Christ with Dewey Sims and Thomas Jacobs officiating.

Burial was to be in Garden City Cemetery with Hanceville Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Nicholson died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at Pickens County Hospital in Carrollton. She was born April 26, 1971, in Hartselle to Elwin O. Swann Sr. and Betty Moore Swann. She was an assistant manager at McDonald's.

Survivors include her husband, Eric Nicholson; one daughter, Jaycey Nicholson of Gordo; one brother, Oneal Swann of Hanceville; one sister, Tracy Looney of Hanceville; her father and stepmother, Elwin O. Swann Sr., and Doris Swann of Hanceville; her mother and stepfather, Betty Moore McClung and Dean McClung of Leighton; her grandfather, Bill Moore of Adamsville; and her step-grandfather, Maurice Williams of Itaska, Texas.

Gary Lynn Turner

Funeral for Gary Lynn Turner, 62, of Decatur, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Culotta officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Turner died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Aug. 6, 1939, in Hillsboro to Emmett H. Turner and Ruth Hazel Parker Turner. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks No. 655. He was a retired truck driver. He was the brother of the late James K. Turner.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra K. Turner; two sons, Gary Lynn Turner II of Hillsboro and James Allen Turner of Decatur; one sister, Glenda Sebourn of Decatur; one brother, Milton Turner of Athens; two stepsisters, Ann Riner and Barbara Bruns, both of Decatur; one step-brother, Ray Crow of Decatur; and three grandsons.

Pallbearers will be Scott Hogan, Ken Turner, Ray Williams, Emmett "Dink" Turner, Mike Akers and Tim Hogan.

BPOE lodge members will be honorary pallbearers.

James F. Barrett
MOULTON -- Funeral for James F. Barrett, 83, of Moulton will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Goodlett and the Rev. Steve Hood officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Barrett died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital from injuries he suffered in an automobile accident. He was born Oct. 8, 1918, in Lawrence County, to Jesse James Barrett and Emma Josephine Sandlin Barrett. He was retired from Monsanto as an operator.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Parker Barrett; two sons, Jimmy R. Barrett, of Decatur and Perry L. Barrett of Town Creek; one daughter, Peggy Mitchell of Moulton; one brother, Charles Barrett of Town Creek; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Grandsons and friends will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Trauma Center, in care of the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, 101 Sivley Road, Hunts- ville, AL 35801.

Nollie Brown

HALEYVILLE -- Graveside service for Nollie Brown, 88, of Atlanta, Ga., formerly of Haleyville, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Winston Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. T.B. Stringfellow officiating and Nichols Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Brown died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001 at Star Crest Nursing Home in Lethonia, Ga. She was born May 28, 1913.

Survivors include one step-son, Gus Brown of Haleyville; one daughter, Brenda Freeman of Decatur; and two grandchildren.

Elizabeth Jane Rogers Fleming

ATHENS -- Funeral for Elizabeth Jane Rogers Fleming, 78, of Athens will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. Hiram Hutto officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Fleming died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born April 26, 1923, in Limestone County to James Thomas Porter and Emma Davis Porter. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at Limestone County Health Facility until age 75. She also worked as a seamstress for many years. She was a member of Reunion Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Stanley Rogers; five daughters, Virginia Rogers Darmer of Huntsville, Barbara Rogers Arden of Los Altos, Calif., Rita Rogers Majors of Athens, and Deborah Faye Rogers and Mavis Rogers Thornton, both of Birmingham; five sisters, Addie Mae White of Traveres, Fla., Bertha Porter of Madison, and Leona Moore, Frances Cline and Peggy Knox, all of Athens; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Steve Davenport, Don Davenport, Jeff Davenport, Michael Crow, Randall Knox and David Holt.

Nathan Eugene McDougle

MOULTON -- Graveside service for Nathan Eugene McDougle, 36, of Trinity will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Caddo Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Eaton officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. McDougle died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at his home. He was born Dec. 13, 1964, in Milwaukee to Nathan L. McDougle and Bonnie Jane McDougle. He was a tire technician at Wilks Tire and Battery Service of Decatur.

Survivors include one daughter, Julie McDougle of Shelby County; and three brothers, Jackie McDougle of Trinity, Coyce Grigsby of Lawrence County and Steve Hagood.

Pallbearers will be Shorty Terry, Kenny Ray Terry, Brian Standridge, Buddy Terry, Herschell Brown and Roger Lacey
