Cedric Depriest Jackson

Funeral for Cedric Depriest Jackson, 17, of Decatur will be Friday at 1 p.m. at True Apostolic Community Church with John Birdsong officiating.

Burial will be in Sterrs Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be in the church for one hour before the service. Mr. Jackson died Nov. 9, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1984, in Morgan County to Cedric T. Jackson and Stephanie Thompson Jackson Mulberry. He attended Tennessee Valley Christian Academy.

Survivors include his father of Huntsville, and his mother of Decatur; stepfather, Terry Mulberry of Decatur; two brothers Terrance Jackson and Martez Jackson, both of Decatur; one sister, Teairra Jackson of Decatur; his grandparents, Jessie and Margaret Jackson of Decatur, and Sarah Thompson of Decatur.

Pallbearers will include Jay Brinklay, Jack Elliott Jr., A.J. Harris, Jonathan Booker, Shawn Jones, George Garth and Tez Bates.

Carol J. Jones

ATHENS -- Funeral for Carol J. Jones, 43, of Athens was to be today at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Roosevelt Toney officiating.

Burial was to be in Thatch-Mann Cemetery with Peoples Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Jones died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born Dec. 4, 1957, in Giles County, Tenn., to David Lee Holt and Bessie Lou Short Holt. She worked as a cook at West Madison Elementary School.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald Jones Sr.; two sons, Gerald Jones Jr. and Gery Jones, both of Athens; one daughter, Kiki Jones of Athens; her mother of Elkton, Tenn.; four brothers, James Holt and Sam Holt, both of Elkton, David Holt of Elkmont and Reginald Holt of Delrose, Tenn.; and three sisters, Brenda White of Prospect, Tenn., and JoAnn Horton and Deborah Williams, both of Athens.

Wyona King

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Wyona King, 88, of Falkville will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Wilson and the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating.

Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. King died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 29, 1912, in Blount County to Burt Norton and Anna Grigsby Norton. She was a sales clerk at Elmore's Department Store. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 35 years. She was the widow of Ardis King and mother of the late William A. King and Edward Odell King.

Survivors include two daughters, Anna Peggy McKinney of Spartanburg, S.C, and Sue McGhee of Hartselle; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Kathy L. Whisenant

MOULTON -- Funeral for Kathy L. Whisenant, 70, of Decatur will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Blaxton officiating.

Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral Home.

Mrs. Whisenant died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Sept. 6, 1931, in Lawrence County, to Gus Terry and Rittie Terry. She retired from Goodyear as a tire core manufacturer and was a member of Jones Chapel Congregational Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Lanny Whisenant and Barry Whisenant, both of Decatur; one brother, Irvin Terry of Moulton; one sister, Minnie Lee Murphree of Moulton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Pallbearers will Larry Terry, Rudy Terry, Jimmy Key, Johnny Key, Anthoney Jones and Shane Whisenant.

Shirley Gregg Preuit Blythe
TUSCUMBIA -- Graveside service for Shirley Gregg Preuit Blythe, 85, of Leighton was to be today at 2 p.m. at King Cemetery with James C. Fennel officiating and Morrison Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Blythe died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, in Birmingham. She was born Sept. 29, 1916, in Lawrence County to Gregg Newton Preuit and Lola Fulks Preuit. A native of Lawrence County, she lived in Leighton most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Leighton United Methodist Church where she was a longtime Sunday school teacher. She was the widow of Eugene V. Blythe and the mother of the late Eugene Deloney Blythe.

Survivors include three sons, Gregg Preuit Blythe of Decatur, Robert Curtis Blythe of Birmingham and Richard Massey Blythe of Hartselle; two daughters, Ellen Basse Dietz of Norton, Mass., and Emily Jean Lidikay of Birmingham; one sister, Ellen Preuit Kirven; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Noble Holland, James Blythe, Gordon Fennel, Lawrence King, Ed Kirven, James Champion, Gregg Champion and Paul E. Jones.

Memorials may be made to Leighton United Methodist Church.

J.B. Chambers

CULLMAN -- Funeral for J.B. Chambers, 79, of Eva, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Center Grove Baptist Church with James Robertson and Harvell Smith officiating.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Cullman Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be in the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Chambers died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 3, 1922, to Horace Greeley Chambers and Minnie Aldridge Chambers. He was a Baptist preacher and a retired Metco Industries employee. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 854 in Simcoe and a 32nd degree and past chaplain for the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was the father of the late Kim Chambers.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Speegle Chambers; five sons, Travis Chambers of Arab, and Coyse Chambers, Carlos Chambers, Vent Chambers and Kent Chambers, all of Eva; two daughters, Brenda Chambers and Linda Spratlin, both of Eva; two brothers, Bud Chambers of Eva and Ottis Chambers of Cullman; seven sisters, Dena Ashabraner of Arkansas, Edna Steinecipher of Morgan County, and Hazel Suites, Evelyn Banks, Dovie Philpot, Faye Grimmett and Virginia Johnson, all of Cullman; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Members of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Lodge No. 854 will be pallbearers.

Hoyt Carlton Fuller

TRINITY -- Funeral for Hoyt Carlton Fuller, 64, of Moulton will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Chris Fuller and Patrick Graham officiating.

Burial will be in Landersville Church of Christ Cemetery with Masonic Lodge rites.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Fuller died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1936, in Moulton, to John Fuller and Georgie Sparks Fuller. He was retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union No. 377 after 39 years, 18 of them as the union's financial secretary. He also was a member of the Loyd O. Glenn Masonic Lodge No. 6 of Moulton.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Pearson Fuller; two sons, Freddie Lamar Fuller and Teddy Joel Fuller, both of Moulton; one daughter, Deroma Fuller Pepper of Moulton; three brothers, Don Fuller, Jimmy Fuller and Darrell Fuller, all of Moulton; two sisters, Lois Smith and Maxine Campbell, both of Moulton; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ken Turner, Jimmy Copeland, Eddie Henderson, Gary Ogles, Bobby Bedingfield and Dwight Johnson.

Members of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union No. 377 and of the Loyd O. Glenn Masonic Lodge No. 6 will be honorary pallbearers.

Lois Ann Herbert

Funeral for Lois Ann Herbert, 63, of Hartselle will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Ellis Leverett officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Herbert died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at her residence. She was born Oct. 11, 1938, in Arkansas to Luther Green and Maud White Green .

She was a former resident of Cullman and a homemaker. Mrs. Herbert was also a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Herbert of Hartselle; one son, Michael Harrington of Vinemont; one daughter, Kathy Boatright of Vinemont; one stepson, Dewayne Herbert of Decatur; one stepdaughter, Cindy Yarbrough of Decatur; three brothers, Norman Green , Charles Green and Bobby Green , all of Cullman; two sisters, Sadie Blagg and Opal Black, both of Cullman; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Smith, Dusty Boatright, Wayne Baker, Randy Boatright, Brian Yarbrough and Wade Wilhite.

Elwood 'Red' Paul Johns

Memorial service for Elwood "Red" Paul Johns, 84, of Decatur will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Queen officiating.

Mr. Johns died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. He was born Nov. 30, 1916, in New Jersey to Paul Johns and Christine Grothusen Johns. He was a Wal-Mart cashier for four years and retired after 43 years as a photographer for Chase Manhattan Bank. He also was a photographer in New York for eight years and employed by Cedar Ridge Golf Course for three years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Edith P. Johns; two daughters, Sandra English of Decatur and Judith Kathleen Johns of Newton, N.J.; two stepsons, Eddie Davis and Tommy Davis, both of Decatur; two stepdaughters, Cathy Gibson of Decatur and Debbie Goodwin of Hartselle; one grandchild; and 12 step-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Association for Retarded Citizens or the American Cancer Society.

Addie Bagsby Siniard

ATHENS -- Funeral for Addie Bagsby Siniard, 37, of Athens, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Legg Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Siniard died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, in Limestone County.

The funeral home will announce complete arrangements.

Wilson Townley White

ATHENS -- Funeral for Wilson Townley White, 91, of Athens will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Market Street Church of Christ with Warren Glass, Dickie White and Charles Chumley officiating.

Burial will be at Athens City Cemetery with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. White died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at his home. He was born Dec. 1, 1909, in Carriger to Milton and Mary E. White. He was the owner of the Rebel Cafeteria and manager of the Greyhound Bus Station in Athens and also owned White Motor Sales in Athens and Huntsville. He served on the Athens City Council from 1948-1952 and was a leader in the Republican Party on local and state levels. He served as a delegate to the National Republican Convention. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a member of Market Street Church of Christ, where he was an elder for more than 50 years.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Gilbert White; one son, Wilson T. White Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Susan Lindsay of Tanner; three sisters, Mildred Sims, Rachel Grubbs and Linnie Hardy, all of Athens; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gary Gross, Robert Burkhardt, Don Grubbs, Milton White, David Glen Sims and Grant White.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County, the Royce and Cindy Reynolds Ghana Mission Fund or the Rollings-Lovell Auditorium Fund at Athens Bible School.

Jink Bogle
TRINITY -- Graveside service for Jink Bogle, 77, of Hartselle was to be today at 11 a.m. at Morris Chapel Cemetery with Evan Bowling officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Bogle died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at University Hospital in Birmingham. He was born April 9, 1924, in Lawrence County to Joseph A. Bogle and Cora E. Moody Bogle. He was a retired cement finisher and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two brothers, Price Bogle and Thomas Bogle, both of Decatur; and one sister, Louise Stinson of Decatur.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Eloise Bertha Kirby Brown

PRICEVILLE -- Funeral for Eloise Bertha Kirby Brown, 64, of Somerville will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Priceville Funeral Home with the Rev. Sandra Locke-Godbey officiating.

Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery in Moulton. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at her home. She was born Jan. 18, 1937, in Lawrence County to Henry Samuel Kirby and Martha Sue Brewington Kirby. She was a laborer at Coca-Cola Foods in Pawpaw, Mich.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth Wade Ellsworth of Gobles, Mich.; one daughter, Denise Annette Ellsworth Young of Somerville; three brothers, Hillard Kirby of Hartford, Mich., Leon Kirby of Moulton and Robert Kirby of Kalamazoo, Mich.; one sister, Sandy Lynn Kirby Smith of Hartselle; and one granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Young, Jimmy Owens, Keith Smith, Marty Brewington, Donny Early, Brian Kirby and "Lil" Keith Smith.
