Ruth Sellers Perdue

MONTGOMERY -- Funeral for Ruth Sellers Perdue, 88, of Montgomery was to be today at 12:30 p.m. at Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William Vanderbloemen and the Rev. Ron Hawkins officiating.

Burial was to be at 2 p.m. in Green wood Cemetery with Leak Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Perdue died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery. She was born Jan. 1, 1913, in Coffee Springs to Dr. and Mrs. Joel Carter Sellers. She was a graduate of St. Margaret's Hospital School of Nursing and was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of William Monroe Perdue Jr., and the sister of the late Miriam Hester and the late Nell Coleman.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Davis, Rosemary Broadway and Joan Kirkland, all of Montgomery, and Susan Codding of Decatur; two sisters, Mary Lee Norman and Mildred Stevenson, both of Montgomery; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Larry Christopher, Chris Swann, Rich Welch, Gardner Perdue, Joel Buchanan and Walter Stevenson Jr.

Grandsons were to be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2130 Bell Road, Montgomery, AL 36117.

Nathan Thompson

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Nathan Thompson, 92, of Valhermoso Springs will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso Springs Free Holiness Church with the Rev. Melvin Brown and the Rev. Don Trosper officiating.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Thompson died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at his home. He was born Nov. 15, 1909, in Pulaski, Tenn., to Jim Thompson and Lucy Barnett Thompson. He retired from the city of Huntsville street department. He was a member of Free Holiness Church for 71 years. He was the widower of Blanch McCutcheon Thompson.

Survivors include three sons, Hammond Thompson of Lacey's Spring and Howard Thompson and Hershel Thompson, both of Valhermoso Springs; three daughters, Louise Elrod, Lois West and Linda Atchley, all of Valhermoso Springs; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gary Thompson, Larry Thompson, Ricky Thompson, Jackie Thompson, Buster Thompson and Dannie West.

Thomas Alva Toney

BIRMINGHAM -- Funeral for Thomas Alva Toney, 90, of Birmingham will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. John Grice officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Memorial Gardens with Gray Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Toney died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, in Birmingham. He was born July 19, 1911, in Madison County to Thomas Toney and Ruth Davis Toney. He was the brother of the late Rev. Aaron Toney.

Survivors include three sons, Terry Powell of Eukland, Ohio, and Willie Toney and Johnny Toney, both of Birmingham; 12 daughters, Betty Flagg and Diane Carlisle, both of Newark, N.J., Mattie McGruder of Kent, Wash., Roberta Boulton of Portland, Ore., Eloise Cole, Rosa Johnson, Dorothy Glover, and Kwajalien Lumpkin, all of Birmingham, Emma Ethriams of Hueytown, Mary Brantley of El Paso, Texas, and Gail Morrow and Sherry Friday, both of Roanoke, Va.; one brother, John Lee Maul of Sacramento, Calif.; and two sisters, Will Anna Johnson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Ellease Miller of Decatur.

Timothy Edward Campbell
TUSCUMBIA -- Funeral for Timothy Edward Campbell, 19, of North Courtland, will be Friday at noon at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Town Creek with the Rev. Jessie Little.

Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Thompson & Son Funeral Home directing. The body will be in the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Campbell died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, in Starkville, Miss. He was born Aug. 26, 1982, in Birmingham to Leo Campbell and Daisella Mason. He was a graduate of Courtland High School and active in football. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He was a student and football player at Miles College in Birmingham.

Survivors include his mother of North Courtland; his father of Hillsboro; three brothers, Bruce Mason of Hillsboro, Ronnie Mason and Mike Mason, both of North Courtland.

Pallbearers will be members of the Miles College football team.

Patricia Ann Dempster

Funeral for Patricia Ann Dempster, 73, of Decatur will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. William A. Troth officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dempster died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born June 17, 1928, in Decatur, Ill., to Floyd Buckley and Maude Buckley. She was employed as a cashier at Green brier Bar-B-Que.

Survivors include two sons, Robert A. "Bob" Dempster of Decatur and D. Mark Dempster of Springfield, Ill.; one daughter, Jackie Hinz of Trinity; three brothers, Jack Buckley of Forsythe, Ill., Floyd Buckley of Los Angeles and Lloyd Buckley of Springfield, Ill.; five sisters, Jeanette Rigdon of Valdosta, Ga., Nancy Sandbothe of Liberty, Kan., Mary Lou Daniels of Decatur, Ill., Margaret Brown of Warrensburg, Ill., and Barbara Milam of Lincoln, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.

Pallbearers will be Jack Buckley, Andre Sumpter, Robert Dempster, Johnny Berzett, Gene Gray and Casey Baker.

Mamie Lee Rodgers Garner

Funeral for Mamie Lee Rodgers Garner, 100, of Hartselle was to be today at 1 p.m. at Sharpley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie White officiating.

Burial was to be in Garner Cemetery in Somerville.

Mrs. Garner died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Northport Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. She was born Aug. 23, 1901, in Morgan County to F.T. and Callie Rodgers. She was the widow of Spencer Platt Garner and attended Hartselle Baptist Church.

Bueford Hooper

MOULTON -- Funeral for Bueford Hooper, 72, of Cullman will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Jerry Flemming officiating.

Burial will be in Landersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hooper died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born June 8, 1929, in Moulton to Newt Hooper and Ida Hooper. He was a retired crane operator for Pittsburgh Steel. He was a United States Army World War II veteran and a member of Cathedral of Praise Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Hooper; three sons Dwight Hooper, Jeff Hooper and Mike Hooper, all of Cullman; one daughter, Deborah Parker of Cullman; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be J.C. Hooper, Marion Smith, Jamie Hooper, Rick Rutherford, James Newell and Ricky Rutherford.

Tristan Blake Hutto

Graveside service for infant Tristan Blake Hutto will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens with Shelton Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Thursday from noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

The infant died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. He was born Nov. 17, 2001, in Birmingham.

Survivors include his father, Anthoney Peebles of Moulton; his mother, Latasha Hutto of Hillsboro; his grandparents, Buddy and Donna Hutto of Hillsboro and Junior and Evelyn Peebles of Moulton; his great-grandparents, Jessie and Laconia Kirby of Decatur and Frank Hutto of Moulton; and his great-great grandmother, Gladys Borden of Moulton.

Fredrick 'Buddy' McNutt

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Fredrick "Buddy" McNutt, 69, of Falkville was to be today at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Miller officiating.

Burial was to be in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Mr. McNutt died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, in Covington, Ga., at the home of a son. He was born July 16, 1932, in Morgan County to Alfred McNutt and Ethel Brown McNutt. He was a retired carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Janice McNutt; two sons, Alfred McNutt of Covington, Ga., and Steven McNutt of Falkville; five daughters, Nova Ward, Juanita Robinson, Allyson Robinson and Angela Bowen, all of Falkville, and Yolanda Robinson of Hartselle; three brothers, Edward McNutt, Johnny McNutt and Billy Wayne McNutt, all of Falkville; one sister, Christine Nangle of Falkville; 25 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Shane McNutt, Blake McNutt, Michael Robinson, Joseph Robinson, Daniel Robinson, Lance McFalls and Richard Ward.

James David Miller

ATHENS -- Funeral for James David Miller, 64, of Matthews, Ga., will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Dement Cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Miller died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at his home. He was born Oct. 15, 1937. He was a retired U.S. Army Sergeant 1st class. He was a Baptist and the widower of Katie Miller.

Survivors include two sons, James W. Miller of Grovetown, Ga., and Dennis R. Miller of Matthews, Ga.; three brothers, Charles E. Miller of Matthews, Ga., and Billy W. Miller and Clarence Miller, both of Elkmont; two sisters, Maggie Turner of Augusta, Ga., and Geraldine Haynes of Matthews, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Stephen Wayne Norman

ATHENS -- Memorial service for Stephen Wayne Norman, 37, of Harvest, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at 27689 McLemore Circle in Harvest with McConnell Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Norman died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Sept. 28, 1964, in Dallas, Texas, to Francis Edwin Norman and Ruth Lynelle McLendon Norman. He lived in San Francisco for 15 years and Limestone County for two years.

He worked at Huntsville Hospital as an operating room technician. He served 10 years in the U.S. Navy and served in the Gulf War.

Survivors include his parents of Harvest; his grandmothers, Dolly Norman of Alvin, Texas, and Elizabeth McLendon of Mabank, Texas; and one sister, Renata Henderson of Eustace, Texas.

Memorials may be made to the AIDS Foundation.

Thomas Alvin Toney

Willie Frank Vinson

TUSCUMBIA -- Funeral for Willie Frank Vinson, 44, of Town Creek will be Friday at noon at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Town Creek with Thompson and Son Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Vinson died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Shoals Hospital. He was born Jan. 8, 1957, in Lawrence County to Willie Vinson and Annie Vinson. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Courtland. He was employed by Delphi Steering Systems. He was the brother of the late Earnest Hicks.

Survivors include his wife, Jannie Vinson; three sons, Marvin Vinson and Willie Vinson, both of Courtland, and Antwan Hodges of Huntsville; two daughters, Sharon Vinson and Lawanda Watkins, both of Courtland; his mother of North Courtland; one brother, Jimmy Vinson of Courtland; seven sisters, Bernice Thorne of Decatur, Melissa Rodriguez, Lucille Johnson, and Alma Jean Vinson, all of Town Creek, Eve Mae Garth of Parris, Calif., and Linda Nance and Patricia Allen, both of Town Creek; two stepsons, Steven Harris and Timothy Carter, both of Courtland; and one stepdaughter, Shania Harris of Town Creek.
