Bessie Lee Boyd

MOULTON -- Funeral for Bessie Lee Boyd, 93, of Town Creek will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with Larry Pahman officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Mrs. Boyd died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at National Health Care in Moulton. She was born Aug. 11, 1908, in Lawrence County, to Jim William Bradford and Rosie Killingsworth Bradford. She was a homemaker and a member of Wolf Springs Church of Christ. She was the widow of Floyd Boyd and the mother of the late Hayes Boyd.

Survivors include one brother, James "Doc" Bradford of Moulton; two sisters, Allyne Fretwell of Mount Hope and Jewel Johnson of Russellville; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Don Johnson, Dempsey Johnson, Steve Lansford, Hutson Bradford, Jerry Boyd and Johnny Smithson.

Georgie Joseph Campbell

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Georgie Joseph Campbell, 77, of Vinemont will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home with Barry Gardner and Marvin Brock officiating.

Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Mr. Campbell died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Cullman Regional Hospital. He was born March 24, 1924, in Alabama to James Campbell and Clemie McCathidy Campbell. He was retired from Nicholson File.

Survivors include his wife, Audie Lee Dye Campbell; three sons, Edward Campbell and Jerry Campbell, both of Vinemont, and Windell Campbell of Cullman; four daughters, Ann Hunter of Arley, Delores Vinson of Hartselle, Wanda Strickland of Vinemont and Catherine Weissend of Texas; three brothers, Grady Campbell of Anderson, J.C. Campbell of Holly Pond and R.C. Campbell of Rogersville; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Dewey D. Jackson

PRICEVILLE -- Funeral for Dewey D. Jackson, 70, of Trinity will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Priceville Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Caudle officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Jackson died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at his home. He was born Sept. 29, 1931, in Lawrence County to Walter George Jackson and Eva Alexis Alexander Jackson. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and Mount Zion Masonic Lodge 542 in Moulton. He was a retired boilermaker/welder and member of Boilermakers Local 455 in Muscle Shoals.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Jackson; three sons, Mike Jackson of Deatsville, Steve Jackson of Somerville and Randy Jackson of Pensacola, Fla.; one daughter, Pat Beard of Hartselle; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Seth Jackson, Matt Jackson, Timothy Jackson, John Sanders, Brian Sims, Rick Sims and Randy Cross.

Cody Steven McCary

Graveside service for Cody Steven McCary, 2, of Decatur will be Friday at 1 p.m. at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Troy Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at Shelton Funeral Home.

The child died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born July 20, 1999, in Decatur to Billy Steven McCary and Genice McCarley.

Survivors include his parents, both of Decatur; one sister, Sirena McCarley of Decatur; his grandparents, Pollie McCary of Moulton and Leola McCarley of Cullman.

Pallbearers will be Rayburn Lindsey, Marty Cole, Gary England and Harland Hampton.

Jan Lloyd Morris

Funeral for Jan Lloyd Morris, 57, of Decatur will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Westmeade Baptist Church with the Rev. Orville Collins officiating.

A graveside service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Birmingham with Shelton Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Friday night from 5 to 7 at the church.

Mr. Morris died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at his home. He was born Feb. 4, 1944, in Birmingham to Lloyd Morris and Lou Frances Merrill Morris. He was employed by Tennessee Valley Wholesale.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret B. Morris; two sons, Calvin Morris of Birmingham and Jay Morris of Auburn; one daughter, Stacy DePue of Seattle; his mother of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Keith Morris of Prattville and Gregg Morris of Oregon; and two sisters, Sherre Chapman of Mobile and Marcie Bessacini of Palmdale, Calif.

Pallbearers will be Kent Lawrence, Tom Arnold, Jim Owen, Bobby Gardner, DeWayne Rains and Neal Holland.

Mary Frances Muston

TRINITY -- Funeral for Mary Frances Muston, 88, of Courtland will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Reding and the Rev. James Long officiating.

Burial will be in Blackground Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Muston died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born Feb. 28, 1913, in Lawrence County, to Lehmon Collier and Georgia Frost Collier. She was a homemaker and a member of Courtland Baptist Church. Mrs. Muston was the widow of Fred Madison Muston.

Survivors include three sons, L.M. Muston of Courtland, Randell Muston of Trinity and Aaron Muston of Florence; three daughters, Martha Kirby of Courtland, Irene Bumgart of Moulton and Ida South of Rogersville; three brothers, Hezzy Collier, Winston Collier and Richard Bill Collier, all of Courtland; one sister, Pauline Weems of Decatur; 21 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tim Bumgart, Mike Muston, Deon Muston, Rickey Kirby, Freddie Kirby and Michael Muston.

Mildred McCrory Utley Norton

Graveside service for Mildred McCrory Utley Norton, 80, of Colbert County will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Town Creek with the Rev. Dan Romberg officiating.

The family will receive friends today from 4 to 7 at Roselawn Funeral Home.

Mrs. Norton died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at her home in Decatur to which she recently moved. She was born Sept. 26, 1921, in Colbert County to Robert Flautt McCrory and Willie Blanche Stanley McCrory. She was a member of Fennel Memorial United Methodist Church until it closed and then Shady Grove United Methodist Church. She taught elementary school in Colbert County for 37 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Utley Couch of Decatur; two sisters, Margaret Palmer of Tallahassee, Fla., and Virginia Bullis of Memphis; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.

Pallbearers will be Stuart Hennigan, Greg Hennigan, Dalton Burnett, Fabian Nance, Paul Couch and David Couch.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, Hospice of the Shoals in Florence, Shady Grove United Methodist Church, or a favorite charity.

Louisa 'Brownie' McGuire Baker

Funeral for Louisa "Brownie" McGuire Baker, 68, of Decatur will be Saturday at noon at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. George Smith and the Rev. Charlie Bates Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7 at the funeral home. The body will be in the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Baker died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born March 13, 1933, in Lawrence County to Richard McGuire and Cynthia Bolden McGuire. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church, where she served on the Mothers Board and in the Senior Choir. She was a homemaker and worked with the elderly through the Community Action Agency.

Survivors include her husband, Willie T. Baker; three sons, the Rev. Charlie Bates Jr. of Piscataway, N.J., Cecil E. Bates of Clio and Marvin L. Bates of Yonkers, N.Y.; seven daughters, Mary Walton of Detroit, Mich., Sarah Watkins of Chattanooga, Linda Taylor of Hillsboro, Teresa Hambright, Valerie Smith, Donna Baker, all of Decatur, and Marilyn Bailey of Athens; one sister, Lucy Mae Jones of Tuscumbia; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Deacons of Westside Baptist Church will be pallbearers.

Nadine Royer Brown

TRINITY -- Funeral for Nadine Royer Brown, 84, of Moulton will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Lavern Lowery officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at National Health Care in Moulton. She was born Feb. 16, 1917, in Lawrence County, to Robert Royer and Willie Mae Callahan Royer. She was a storeowner and a member of Five Points Christian Church. She was the widow of Albert Brown and the sister of the late Lavern Royer Smith.

Survivors include two sons, Vicky Royer Brown and Albert Michael Brown, both of Moulton; one daughter, Lynda Brown Hazle of Moulton; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tim Hazle, Patrick Brown, Chris Brown, Brandon Brown, Joel Tompkins, Lamar Smith and Phil Hjelm.

Louinda 'Belle' Carter

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Louinda Isabelle "Belle" Carter, 86, of Hartselle will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Mack Carter officiating.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carter died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born June 17, 1915, in Tennessee to Henry Burnett and Alice Rawls Burnett. She loved gardening and growing flowers. She was a homemaker and the widow of Ernest Clifton Carter and the mother of the late Donald Carter and the late Bonnie Kizzire.

Survivors include four daughters, Wonnie Segars of Danville, Mary Lee Lynch of Montgomery, Dot Ward of Hartselle and Laverne Foster of Decatur; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Dora S. Childers

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Dora S. Childers, 86, of Falkville, was to be today at 2 p.m. at Eva Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Robinson and the Rev. Billy Mosteller officiating.

Burial was to be in Lawrence Cove Cemetery in Morgan County with Moss Service Funeral Home directing. The body will be in the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Childers died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at her home. She was born Sept. 27, 1915, in Morgan County to Noah Stencel and Ola Pricket Childers. She was a retired nurse. She was the widow of Aldridge Childers and the mother of the late Alvin Childers and the late Martha Frost.

Survivors include one son, Burl Childers of Eva; five daughters, Judy Arrington of Hartselle, Carol Sue Johnson of Huntsville, Charlotte Hall of Oden Ridge, and Delores Haygood and Bonnie Roper, both of Decatur; 18 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 11 step great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Toby Sellers, Greg French, Wesley Rusk, Shawn Jones, Phillip Frost and Matthew Frost.
