Olgalene Cook Barker
Funeral for Olgalene Cook Barker of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Rollins officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Barker died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at her home. She was born in Haleyville to James Albert Cook Sr. and Ollie Mae Miller Cook. She was a former teacher in school systems in Alabama and Georgia. In later years, she was associated with her husband in a family-owned business, Conditioned Air Corp. in Decatur. She was active in various civic and community organizations, including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Women's Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the Library, and other charitable and social groups. She was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she served in numerous capacities. She was the sister of the late James Albert Cook Jr. and Charles Monroe Cook.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Eugene Barker Sr.; and one son, Thomas Eugene Barker III of Huntsville.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Veazey, Ivan Maurer, Jeff Hallmark, Henry Richter, Doug Rogers and Bill Washington.

Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Leamon Harris

TUSCUMBIA -- Funeral for Leamon Harris, 70, of Town Creek was Friday at noon at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Town Creek with the Rev. Elijah Gray officiating.

Burial was in Wash Tilla Cemetery with Thompson & Son Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Harris died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at his home. He was born June 17, 1931, in Lawrence County to Louie Harris Sr. and Mary Alice Fitzgerald Harris. He retired as a laborer from the former Champion Paper Co., now International Paper Co. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Carol Harris; three sons, Leamon Donell Harris, McKenzie Harris and Terrance Harris, all of Town Creek; one daughter, Latasha Harris of Town Creek; one brother, Percy Harris of Town Creek; and four sisters, Susie Perkins of St. Paul, Minn., Mary Harris of Muscle Shoals, Hattie Sanders of Town Creek and Ruby Torain of Decatur.

Edwin Eugene 'Gene' Holder

ATHENS -- Funeral for Edwin Eugene "Gene" Holder, 76, of Athens will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Steve Moseley and Tom Byers officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Holder died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at his home. He was born April 19, 1925, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to Edwin E. Holder and Madeline Holder. He was a retired minister and served as an elder at Corinth Church of Christ for many years. He was the brother of the late Howard Holder.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Dale Holder; one son, Edwin Holder of Madison; one daughter, Gena Faye King of Athens; three brothers, Jim Holder of Cocoa, Fla., and Frank Holder and Ronnie Holder of Pleasant Valley, N.Y.; one sister, Del Dillinger of Stanfordville, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Willie B. Holderfield

Funeral for Willie B. Holderfield, 83, of Courtland will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with Hoyt Nelson and Bernard Dawes officiating.

Burial will be in Courtland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Holderfield died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at NHC Healthcare of Moulton. She was born Jan. 23, 1918, in Lawrence County to Willis Rose and Dora Collins Rose. A long-time member of Courtland Church of Christ, she was lunchroom manager of Courtland High School and an Avon representative.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James Oscar Holderfield; one son, Robert Boyce Holderfield of Florence; one daughter, Nancy Loosier of Courtland; one brother, J.C. Rose of Hillsboro; two sisters, Annie Mae Holderfield of Lafayette, Ind., and Ruby Cross of Courtland; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Williams, Billy Ray Williams, Don Williams, Joe Williams, Dennis Holderfield, Ted Holderfield, Wayland Cross and Billy Lambert.

Roosevelt Lewis

Funeral for Roosevelt Lewis, 54, of Trinity will be Monday at noon at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Trinity with the Rev. John Z. Gray officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Memorial Gardens with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will be in the church an hour before the service.

Mr. Lewis died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at his home. He was born Sept. 22, 1947, in Limestone County to Timothy Lewis Jr. and Mattie Jolly Lewis Brown. He was a member of Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Celes McAfee of Decatur and Jwana Lewis and Romunda Lewis, both of Trinity; his mother of Trinity; three brothers, John Lewis of Chattanooga and Jessie Lewis and Willie Lewis, both of Decatur; five sisters, Queen Pitts of Somerville, Mattie Lewis, the Rev. Mary Marshall, the Rev. Gloria Pearson and Benita Owens, all of Decatur; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be James Shackelford Jr., Malcolm Shack- elford, Willie Joe Pitts, Mario Marshall, Julius Marshall and Reginald Lewis.

Bertha L. Parker

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Bertha L. Parker, 90, of Cullman, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Bryan officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Parker died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Woodland Medical Center in Cullman. She was born Dec. 4, 1911, in Cullman County to Levi Chumley and Madge Arizona Westmoreland Chumley. She was a homemaker and a member of Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of J.W. Parker and the mother of the late James Parker.

Survivors include one son, J.C. Parker of Cullman; three sisters, Mae Irene Hankey of Cullman and Ruby Nesmith and Vernie Chumley, both of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

Lee Anne Durling
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. -- Funeral for Lee Anne Durling, 37, of Goose Creek, S.C., will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church.

Burial will be in Summerville Cemetery with Parks Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the church.

Mrs. Durling died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, in Goose Creek. She was born March 7, 1964, in Detroit, Mich., to William James Achenbach and Maryanne Lee Shannon Achenbach. She was a human resource assistant at Coburg Dairy. She was a graduate of the College of Charleston and a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include husband, Jeffrey Lee Durling; one son, Michael William Durling of Goose Creek; one daughter, Shannon Lee Zeilinger of Goose Creek; her parents of Decatur; her brother, Mark William Achenbach of Madison; and her grandmother, Frances Shannon of Decatur.

Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 1600 Old Trolley Road, Summerville, SC 29485.

Brenda Kay Hitt

TRINITY -- Funeral for Brenda Kay Hitt, 47, of Decatur was Saturday at 3 p.m. at Straight Gospel Missionary Church with the Rev. Neal Blaxton officiating.

Burial was in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens with Parkway Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Hitt died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born March 8, 1954, in Lawrence County to William Speegle and Gladys Speegle. She was a machine operator.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey Hitt Jr.; four sons, Jimmy Shane Hitt of Decatur; three stepsons, Lee Hitt, Joseph Hitt and Michael Hitt, all of Courtland; one daughter, Tonya Woodall of Danville; her mother, Gladys Speegle Borden of Moulton; four brothers, William Speegle, Jimmy Speegle and Kenny Speegle, all of Moulton, and Ricky Speegle of Town Creek; two sisters, Betty Davis of Town Creek and Melinda Steele of Moulton; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Scott Coffey, Buddy Coffey, Stacy Coffey, Derek Speegle, Jace Speegle and Chip Wallace.

Inez Grissom Kelley

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Inez Grissom Kelley, 77, of Hartselle will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Brent Colee officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Cemetery near Eva. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kelley died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Colbert County to William Z. Grissom and Laura B. Ferguson Grissom. She was a homemaker. She was the mother of the late Richard Mark Kelley.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Kelley Howard, Sheila Kelley Booth and Kathi Kelley Jenkins, all of Hartselle; two brothers, John David "Ham" Grissom and William Dixon "Peanut" Grissom, both of Birmingham; two sisters, Mildred Grissom "Boots" Goodwin of Hartselle and Ellen Grissom Dempsey of Birmingham; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Steve Howard, Kelly Howard, Corey Jenkins, Jason Yocom, Jim Booth and Clint Moore.

William Earl Lawrence

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for William Earl Lawrence, 58, of Hartselle will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Gunter, the Rev. Faron Davis, the Rev. Stanley Reeves and the Rev. Grad Tanner officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery east of Hartselle. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Lawrence died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. He was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Morgan County to William Hobert Lawrence and Leatha Lee Lawrence. He was an engineer for Automatic Screw Machine Products Inc. He was a member of Westside Community Church and Morgan County Cattlemen's Association.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Depreast Lawrence; one son, Johnny Lawrence of Hartselle; one daughter, Kim Lawrence Tanner of Hartselle; two sisters, Marie Lorance of Decatur and Dora Jean Clark of Lacey's Spring; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joe Curbow, Glenn Free, Rayford Luter, Jeff McMimemon, Jim Newman, Chris Pike and Wayne Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers and former co-workers.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2515-B Memorial Parkway S.W., Huntsville, AL 35801.

Claude Osburn

ATHENS -- Funeral for Claude Osburn, 71, of Athens will be today at 3 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Clem officiating.

Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park, Fla. The family will receive friends two hours before the service at the funeral home.

A funeral service will also be held Friday at noon at Carey Hand Cox-Parker Funeral Home in Winter Park, Fla. The family will receive friends Friday two hours before the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Osburn died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born May 26, 1930, in Georgia to Henry Osburn and Julia Long Osburn. He was a retired businessman and a Korean War veteran. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dora Osburn; four sons, Rick Osburn of Casselberry, Fla., Danny Hughes of Athens, and Roger Osburn and Ronnie Osburn, both of Cocoa, Fla.; one daughter, Debbie Lindeman of Athens; one sister, Dot Taylor of Jacksonville, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren.

Rev. Dewitt H. Rasco

HOLLY POND -- Funeral for the Rev. Dewitt H. Rasco, 87, of Baileyton will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Holly Pond Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Miller and the Rev. David Carroll officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pisgah Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Rasco died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at his home. He was born March 1, 1914, in Odenville to Thomas J. Rasco and Jesse Crumbley Rasco. He was a farmer and a retired Presbyterian minister. He was a member of Welcome Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sibyl Rasco; six sons, Buck Rasco of Welcome, Terry Rasco of Smith Lake, Glennis Rasco of Holly Pond, Coy Rasco of Decatur, and Bobby Rasco and Berry Rasco, both of Baileyton; three daughters, Marzie Carroll of Joppa, Joanne Gagely of Fairview and Linda Johnson of Vinemont; one brother, Tom Rasco of Cullman; three sisters, Lucille Smith of Hansville, Jeanette Nunn of Good Hope and Nola Cramer of Chattanooga; 23 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Jean Davis
ATHENS -- Funeral for Jean Davis, 60, of Athens will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. George Dudley officiating.

Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Davis died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at her home. She was born Feb. 7, 1941, in Limestone County to Carson Taylor Smith and Billie Juanita Bailey Smith. She was a member of First Christian Church in Athens. She was the widow of Howard M. Norton and stepsister of the late Jimmy Lee Smith and Phillip Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Billy T. Davis; two sons, Randall Norton of Anderson and Todd Davis of Athens; two daughters, Vicki Curnett and Pam Lovell, both of Athens; her mother of Athens; one brother, Joe Smith of Athens; two sisters, Juanita Grisham and Jane Boyd, both of Athens; and 10 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Norton, Wayne King, Bobby George, J.D. Grisham, Bill Grisham and Carson Smith.
