Funeral for William E. Carlisle Sr., 93, of Decatur will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Art Rowe and the Rev. Sherry Harris officiating.
A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Caffee Cemetery near Centerville. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Carlisle died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at South Morgan Health Care. He was born June 28, 1908, in Bibb County to Morris Porter Carlisle and Callie Caffee Carlisle. He was a member of Oakmont United Methodist Church in Homewood. He was a retired dairy farmer and Realtor.
Survivors include one son, William E. Carlisle Jr. of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two daughters, Sandra Carlisle Bennett and Mary Carolyn Carlisle Persells, both of Decatur; four grandsons; and three great-granddaughters.
Pallbearers will be Timothy E. Wilson, Ashley Wayne Bennett, William Adam Bennett, Joseph N. Persells, Donald C. Wiseman, and Edward M. Wiseman.
Leo Haggermaker
ATHENS -- Funeral for Leo Haggermaker, 62, of Athens will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Wayne Kent officiating.
Burial will be in Reunion Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Haggermaker died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1939, in Limestone County to Henry Haggermaker and Alma Kyle Haggermaker. He was a farmhand.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Haggermaker; three sons, Jimmy Hopper, Jackie Haggermaker and Adam Hopper, all of Athens; four daughters, Cathy Walker, Sheila Hardy, Lisa Miller and Brenda Haggermaker, all of Athens; his father of Elkmont; two brothers, Billy Haggermaker of Athens and Harvey Haggermaker of Elkmont; three sisters, Mary Jane Blankenship of Elkmont, Carolyn Vann of Huntland, Tenn., and Mattie Dempsey of Athens; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Miller, Tracy Walker, Jason Walker, Tim Haggermaker, Thomas Gerald Haggermaker and Salvador Vasquez.
Nephews will be honorary pallbearers.
Minnie Woosley Hays
Roselawn Funeral Home will direct a private funeral for Minnie Woosley Hays, 73, of Decatur.
Mrs. Hays died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at her home. She was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Hardin County, Ky., to Jesse Aubrey and Katie Crawford Aubrey.
Survivors include one son, Lloyd Woosley of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Linda Patterson of Decatur; one sister, Lois Jean Hibbs of Louisville, Ky.; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.
Benon Leo Lovell
ATHENS -- Funeral for Benon Leo Lovell, 77, of Athens will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Higgins Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Lovell died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born March 12, 1924, in Limestone County to James Lovell and Lillie Belle Lovell. He was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Lovell; one son, Troy Dale Lovell of Athens; one daughter, Judy Griffin of Harvest; one sister, Gertrude Desmukes of Festis, Mo.; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
John Brett McLuckie
Memorial mass for John Brett McLuckie, 39, of Decatur will be Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Culotta officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to mass.
Mr. McLuckie died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at his home. He was born Dec. 8, 1962, in Mobile.
Survivors include his parents, John "Jack" McLuckie Jr. and Marilyn Rychlak McLuckie, both of Decatur; and one sister, Laurie Ann McLuckie of Decatur.

William Clayton Roberts
ATHENS -- Funeral for William Clayton Roberts, 78, of Athens will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Keenum and the Rev. Calvin Inman officiating.
Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Roberts died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born June 8, 1923, in Florida to Joseph Carson Roberts and Mary Etta Hadden Roberts. He was a lifelong resident of Limestone County and a member of Sardis Springs Baptist Church. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was the widower of Ruby Gill Roberts.
Survivors include two brothers, Cosmo Roberts of Birmingham and Joel Roberts of Athens.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Roberts, Phillip Roberts, Tim Roberts, Jason Roberts, Jason Partrick and Lawrence Holt.
Dr. W.P. Stone
SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. -- Funeral for Dr. W.P. Stone, 91, of Springfield was to be today at 3 p.m. at Austin & Bell Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Oakley officiating.
Burial was to be in Memorial Gardens.
Dr. Stone died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at his home. He was born Jan. 31, 1910, in Macon County, Tenn., to William Ligon Stone and Lillie Mae Pipkin Stone. He was a medical doctor from 1935 until his retirement in 1974. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 34th Medical Battalion. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church and the widower of Lucille Almon Stone.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. William Stone Jr. of Decatur and Dr. Eugene Stone of Alexandria, Va.; three granddaughters; and four great-granddaughters.
Ed Uptain
Graveside service for Ed Uptain, 75, of Athens will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. Marcus Long officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Uptain died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Nov. 17, 1926, in Decatur to Charles Edward Uptain and Hazel Pauline Thompson-Uptain. He retired from Wolverine Tube after 33 years of service.
Survivors include two sons, Chuck Uptain and Mark Uptain, both of Decatur; one daughter, Genna Gibbs of California; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
E. Lavon Coffman

Mr. Coffman died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Valley View Nursing Home. He was born July 17, 1908, in Limestone County to James Coffman and Mattie Coffman. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and Limestone County commissioner. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Elkmont.
Survivors include his wife, Aubrey Coffman; two daughters, Betty Wells of Harvest and Martha Kimbrough of Athens; one brother, Carl Coffman of Athens; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Eugene Clifton Collins
Eugene Clifton Collins, 87, of Atlanta, formerly of Decatur, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Portsbridge Hospice in Atlanta.

Edward Reed Haglock
ARAB -- Funeral for Edward Reed Haglock, 71, of Joppa will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Larry Conley officiating and the funeral home directing.
Mr. Haglock died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at his residence in Joppa. He was born July 11, 1930, in Wheeling, W.Va., to Reed Haglock and Thelma Stille Haglock. He retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 83. He was the brother of the late Peter Reed Haglock, and the father of the late Edward Haglock Jr.
Survivors include one son, James Haglock of Oil City, Pa.; two daughters, Darlene Lambert and Arlene Doty, both of Joppa; one stepdaughter, Linda Violet of Wheeling, W.Va.; one brother, John Reed Haglock; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. King died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, in Oklahoma. She was born Dec. 5, 1907, in Lauderdale County. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Rogersville. She was the widow of Leo King and the mother of the late John D. King.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeanette Worley of Choctaw, Okla.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Laura Baugher Lovell

Mrs. Lovell died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, in Athens. She was born Nov. 17, 1978, in Madison County to Timmy Baugher and Gwen Baugher. She was a student at Athens State University. She attended Segars Road Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Jasen Lovell; one step-son, David Lovell of Athens; her parents of Athens; one brother, Justin Baugher of Athens; and her grandparents, Beulah Baugher and Clarence Kirby, both of Athens.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Livonia, Mich. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 7 at the funeral home.
Mr. Moseley died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at Grace Hospital in Detroit. He was born July 12, 1941, in Decatur to Willis Moseley and Corinne Moseley. He was employed by Chrysler Corporation for 27 years.
Survivors include one brother, Robert L. Moseley of Detroit; three sisters, Murriel Moseley Hamilton of Southfield, Mich., Jane Moseley Nocho of Las Vegas and Lucinda Moseley Russell of Seattle.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
