Opal Lorene Kiser McGregor

TRINITY -- Funeral for Opal Lorene Kiser McGregor, 79, of Moulton will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. R.C. Borden officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. McGregor died Friday, March 8, 2002, at her home. She was born Jan. 16, 1923, in Colbert County to Robert Kiser and Ida Isbell Kiser. She was a member of Old Town Creek Baptist Church. She was active in Womens Missionary Union. She was the widow of Tom V. McGregor. She was the office manager at Publix supermarket in Orlando, Fla., for 33 years.

Survivors include one son, Roger Dale McGregor of Orlando; two daughters, Betty McGregor Tortora of Moulton and April McGregor Priest of Orlando; three brothers, Jessie Kiser of Town Creek, Leroy Kiser of Wolf Springs and Arnold Kiser of Phil Campbell; three sisters, Lucille Poole of Wolf Springs, Margaret Fleming of Hatton and Mary Posey of Ocoee, Fla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Dewey H. Ballard
Funeral for Dewey H. Ballard, 84, of Decatur will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Basham Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Elder officiating.

Burial will be in Basham Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Roselawn Funeral Home.

Mr. Ballard died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born May 10, 1917, in Cullman County to J.L. and Sally Sullins Ballard. He was retired from Valley Steel where he worked for 20 years. He was the brother of the late Iva Jones and the late Vida Quick.

Survivors include his wife, Elnora Ballard; and two sisters, Evelyn Grantham of Hanceville and Velma Weldon of Shelby County.

Pallbearers will be Nick Stover, Lamar Lott, Marty McCaghren, Ted McCaghren, James Quick and Bill Boyd.

Mary Eva Lee Mitchell Carden

Funeral for Mary Eva Lee Mitchell Carden, 83, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Archibald and the Rev. Doug Wells officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 8 at Roselawn Funeral Home. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral.

Mrs. Carden died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 23, 1918, in DeKalb County to John M. Mitchell and Myrtle Pauline Wood Mitchell. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was the sister, of the late Rex Mitchell, the late J.M. Mitchell Jr., the late Audrey Mitchell, the late Oma Mitchell Browder and the late Inez Mitchell Morrison.

Survivors inlcude one son, James Philip Carden Jr. of South Jordan, Utah.

Lola Ozella Clemons

MOULTON -- Funeral for Lola Ozella Clemons, 82, of Town Creek will be today at 4 p.m. at Old Liberty Congregational Christian Church in Town Creek with Larry Crumpton and Roger Loosier officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Old Liberty Cemetery.

Mrs. Clemons died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. She was born May 29, 1919, in Lawrence County to Robert and Della Mote. She was a homemaker and the widow of Price Clemons Jr. She was the mother of the late Glennice Brewington.

Survivors include one son, Farish Millard Clemons of Town Creek; two daughters, Jeanette Ray and Vickie Richardson, both of Moulton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lowell Mote, Bradley Mote, Jerry Clemons, Chad Richardson, Jimmy Ray Terry and Jeff Mote.

Memorials may be made to Old Liberty Congregational Christian Church.

Cleo 'Frog' Dixon

Funeral for Cleo "Frog" Dixon, 76, of Toney will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home with Wheeler Kidd officiating.

Burial will be in Madison Cross Roads Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Dixon died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Limestone County to Matthew B. and Callie Parker Dixon. He was a retired heavy machine operator from Shelby Construction.

Survivors include two daughters, Ann Dixon Mangum of Hartselle and Wanda Ashby of Huntsville; four sisters, Leona Butler, Evelyn Daly and Dorothy Wilburn, all of Ardmore, and Katherine Rozell of Pulaski, Tenn.; five granchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Eldred E. Hall

Funeral for Eldred E. Hall, 81, of Trinity will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Culberson officiating.

Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hall died Friday, March 8, 2002, in Morgan County. He was born April 26, 1920, in Lawrence County to Earl Hall and Ruth Vinson Hall. He was a retired sheet metal worker and a member of North Alabama Wagon Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Fretwell Hall; two sons, Jimmy Hall of Trinity and Kenny Hall of Decatur; two daughters, Pat Shelton Williams and Susan Lamon, both of Trinity; two brothers, Bill Hall and Ray Hall, both of Decatur; two sisters, Louise Fretwell and Jo Ann Walker, both of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Hall, Marty Shelton, Ricky Shelton, Tim Lamon, David Lamon and Josh Hall. Members of the North Alabama Wagon Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Morgan County.

Altis Auburn Jarrett

ATHENS -- Funeral for Altis Auburn Jarrett, 88, of Athens will be Monday at 7 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with James Bridges officiating.

Burial will be in Cedar City Cemetery in Utah. The family will receive friends Monday night at 6 at the funeral home.

Mr. Jarrett died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Athens Convalescent Center. He was born Dec. 7, 1913, in Limestone County. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a retired school custodian and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Jarrett; one son, Billy Jarrett of Cedar City, Utah; one daughter, Margie Freshwater of Las Vegas; one stepson, Roy Blakely of Athens; one stepdaughter, Oneta Lindsay of Athens; one sister, Lillie Mae Mitchell of Elkmont; 11 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nine great-step-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.

Lois M. Lowery

Funeral for Lois M. Lowery, 88, of Decatur will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Carlisle officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Ms. Lowery died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Aug. 15, 1913, in Lawrence County to D. Floyd Lowery and Lillie Mae Royer Lowery. She was a member of Central Park Baptist Church. She was the sister of the late Robert M. Lowery, the late Edwin Lowery, the late Damon "Snow" Lowery and the late Annie Mae Lowery McRory.

Survivors include one brother, James R. Lowery of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Milton Knight, Chad Knight, Jimmy Reed, Brian Reed, Larry Terry and James Lowery.

HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral for Pollyanna Blackwell Noojin, 61, of Huntsville will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity Episcopal with the Rev. Kerry Holder Sibold officiating and Laughlin Service Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the church.

Mrs. Noojin died Friday, March 8, 2002, in Huntsville. She was born June 28, 1940, in Decatur to Leonard Blackwell and Stella Pauline Buford Blackwell. She was a financial representative for MetLife in Huntsville.

Survivors include her husband, Frank K. Noojin Jr.; two daughters, Pollyanna Hunt Hudson of Huntsville; and Blair Buford Loomis of Atlanta; and one grandson.

Memorials may be made to Episcopal Diocese of Alabama or the American Cancer Society.

Kathryn King Parker

Graveside service for Kathryn King Parker, 87, of Decatur was Saturday at 11 a.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Sharpe officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Parker died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Dec. 15, 1914, in Decatur, to Elbert Hobert King and Lelia Annie Ball King. She was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was the widow of Earl Parker.

Survivors include two sons, Earl G. Parker and Dean Parker, both of Decatur; two daughters, Diana Nelms of Decatur and Patsy Black of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

Grandsons and other family members served as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels.
