Jerry Hagood

MOULTON -- Funeral for Jerry Hagood, 46, of Moulton will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Blankenship officiating.

Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hagood died Saturday, Dec. 17, 1999, at UAB Spain Center in Birmingham. He was born Feb. 25, 1953, in Illinois to Carl and Mattelene Hagood. He was a carpenter and a member of the Nazarene Church. He was the brother of the late Raymond Hagood.

He is survived by one daughter, Sonya Downey of Moulton; his mother, Mattelene Hagood Long of Moulton; two brothers, Danny Hagood of South Carolina and Ricky Hagood of Wisconsin; and two grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Nancy Ellen Morgan Siniard
22, store clerk

Funeral for Nancy Ellen Morgan Siniard, 22, of Somerville will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Gilles-pie officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Ms. Siniard died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. She was born Sept. 5, 1977, in Decatur. She worked part-time in her family's convenience store. She was the sister of the late Carla Ann Morgan Long.

She is survived by her father, Carl Dan Morgan of Decatur; her mother and stepfather, Peggy and Jerry Culotta of Somerville; one brother, Danny Morgan of Decatur; one sister, Katrena Morgan Gewin of Somerville; and her grandfather, B.H. Merriman of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Jason Morgan, Johnny Morgan, Allen Young, Jeffrey Young, Ben Merriman and Justin Fletcher.

Samuel Carlos Blackwell Sr.
83, retired truck driver
ATHENS -- Funeral for Samuel Carlos Blackwell Sr., 83, of Athens will be today at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Dusty McLemore officiating.

Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.

Mr. Blackwell died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Feb. 27, 1916, in Marshall County and was a resident of Limestone County for most of his life. Mr. Blackwell was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired as a truck driver from Redstone Arsenal. He was the husband of the late Loretta Blackwell.

Mr. Blackwell is survived by two sons, Samuel C. Blackwell Jr. and Danny Blackwell, both of Athens; two daughters, Thelma Copeland and Glena Fay Blackwell, both of Athens; one brother, Robert Garland Blackwell of Madison; three grandchildren;and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Walker, Kenneth Miller, Philip Weaver, Billy Neal, Syd Blackwell and Charlie Adams.

Walter Lee Brakefield

ATHENS -- Funeral arrangements for Walter Lee Brakefield, 85, of Athens, who died today, Dec. 20, 1999, at his residence, will be announced by Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.

William Donald Bridges

ATHENS -- Funeral arrangements for William Donald Bridges, 75, of Athens, who died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital, will be announced by Spry Funeral Home.

Ora Gaines Evans
92, retired farmer

CULLMAN -- Funeral service for Ora Gaines Evans, 92, of Cullman will be today at 2 p.m. at Williams McCraken Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Dixon officiating.

Burial will be at the Mount Carmel Methodist Cemetery.

Mr. Evans died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 31, 1907, in Carrolton, Ga.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Bell Evans of Cullman; one son, Charles Evans of Grant; two daughters, Betty Chambers of Alabaster and Jean Keeling of Athens; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Ernie Dale Holland
60, retired farmer

ATHENS -- Funeral for Ernie Dale Holland, 60, of Rogersville will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Albert Haraway officiating.

Burial will be in Higgins Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Holland died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Athens Convalescent Center. He was born Jan. 5, 1939, in Limestone County. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Holland was a member of the Church of Christ. His brother, Phillip Holland, preceded him in death.

He is survived by one son, Van Dale Holland of Las Vegas; one daughter, Melody Ann Evans of Athens; two sisters, Frances Holland and Opal Conn, both of Athens; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Haraway, Danny Conn, Hilton Holland, Roger Howard and Jeremy Evans.

Oscar H. Johnson Jr.

Funeral arrangements for Oscar H. Johnson Jr., 71, of Decatur, who died today, Dec. 20, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital, will be announced by Roselawn Funeral Home.

Burial was is the Union Grove No. 2 Cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Kelly Miller of Snead; and his grandparents, Judy Williams of Hartselle and Mrs. Don Miller of Oneonta.

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Demetra Gay Brown Morgan, 32, of Hartselle will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9. Burial will be in the Somerville Church of God Cemetery.

Mrs. Morgan died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, in Hartselle. She was born Dec. 31, 1966 in Morgan County. She was a housewife.

She is survived by her husband, James Benjamin Morgan Sr.; two stepsons, James Benjamin Morgan Jr. and Jason Morgan, both of Hartselle; one stepdaughter, Melinda Morgan of Hartselle; her father, Kirk Brown of Priceville; her mother, Annelle Brown Hodges of Priceville; her grandmother, Evelyn Mason of Decatur; two sisters, Dana Brown Borden of Decatur and Daphne Haley of Birmingham; and two step-grandsons.

Pallbearers will be Gary Borden, Barry Haley, Charles Atkins, Wayne Morgan, Cecil Mobley and Brandon Wright.

HARTSELLE -- Funeral arrangements for Willie Boyd Palmer, 59, of Englewood, Colo., who died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, in Colorado, will be announced by Peck Funeral Home.

Leroy Robison
89, retired foreman

ATHENS -- Funeral for Leroy Robison, 89, of Athens, was to be today at 2 p.m. at Tanner Church of Christ with Robert Hall and Jim Bowers officiating and McConnell Funeral Home directing,

Burial was to be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Robison died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

He was born Sept. 20, 1910, in Lanett and was a resident of Limestone County most of his life.

He worked as a foreman at Athens Wholesale Nursery for 45 years and at Strain and Son Nursery for 10 years. Mr. Robison was a member of Tanner Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Robison; one son, Gerald Robison of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Imogene Lang of Tanner and Betty Patterson of Opelika; one brother, George Robison of Patterson, Ga.; three sisters, Lorene Carter of Madison County, and Margreta Sanders and Lillian Jackson, both of Huntsville; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Henry Carter, Jack Malone, John Perry, Harold McKee, Hugo Adams and Lamar Meals.

William Sutherlin Jr.

Funeral arrangements for William Sutherlin Jr., 68, of Decatur, who died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Parkway Medical Center Hospital, will be announced by Reynolds Funeral Home.
