She died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at home. She was born Sept. 28, 1921, in Limestone County to John Marshall and Mary Pearl Craig Springer. She was a homemaker and a member of Valley View Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, David Franklin Barksdale of Round Rock, Texas, and Dan Roy Barksdale of Athens; one daughter, Elisabeth B. Graham of Athens; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers were to be Dave Barksdale, Brent Barksdale, Jason Barksdale, Glen Springer, Bennett Springer and Kedrick Romine.

Burial will be in Blocker Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ford died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Allenbrook Healthcare. She was born April 7, 1907, in Germantown, Tenn., to Maggie and Isom Trusty. She was a member of Trinity Chapel, a retired day-care attendant and had worked for Jones Peach Orchard.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas E. Ford of Decatur and Jerry Ford of Collierville, Tenn.; four daughters, Helen Cooper of Morristown, Tenn., Velma Smith of Memphis, Shirley Leake of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Doris Henderson of Southaven, Miss.; two brothers, James E. Trusty of Olive Branch, Miss., and Clarence Trusty of Memphis; two sisters, Maggie Whitten of Cordova, Tenn., and Beatrice Watkins of Memphis; 23 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

BELMONT, Miss. -- Funeral for Vernon Thomas Hall, 76, of Golden, Miss., was Monday at Deaton Funeral Home with Mickey Trammel officiating.
Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hall died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Belmont. He was born Jan. 20, 1924, in Mississippi. He was an equipment operator for 25 years, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Golden Central Baptist Church for 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, Olene Hall; one son, Jarry Hall of Belmont; three daughters, Dorothy Alexander of Trinity, Peggy Hughes of Tupelo, Miss., and Sue Thorne of Red Bay; two brothers, Verda Hall of Waukegan, Ill., and Virgil Hall of Red Bay; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Phillip Stanley, John Graham, Elton Wigginton, Joe Bostick, Steve Bostick and Bill Beky.

Mrs. Mitchell died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at home. She was born April 15, 1908, in Lawrence County to Will and Betty Bradford. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of Claudie Mitchell.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Morton of Moulton; one sister, Lassie Lipscomb of Moulton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ATHENS -- Graveside service for David Kenneth Roberts, 43, of Athens was to be today at 2 p.m. at Sardis Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Dusty McLemore officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Roberts died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000 at his home. He was born Aug. 12, 1956, in Limestone County. A 1974 graduate of Athens High School, he was an electrician and had worked for Rickett's Environmental.
He is survived by his parents, Dot and Gilbert Roberts of Athens; and four sisters, Connie Patterson, Sharon Reynolds and JoAnn Bauer, all of Athens, and Linda Paulk of Greenville, S.C.
Nephews and nieces were to be pallbearers.

She is survived by one son, R. Devon Brackin of Moulton; three daughters, Audrey Faye Brackin, Bonnie Dutton Moland and Sue Brannan, all of Moulton; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Childers died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, in Hartselle. He was born June 12, 1904, in Morgan County to William Wylie and Ola Jacks Childers. The widower of Osa Dema Cloer Childers, he was a farmer and member of Hills Chapel Church of God.
He is survived by one son, William Howard Childers of Hartselle; one daughter, Mabell Childers Pruitt of Falkville; one brother, Virgil Childers of Somerville; four sisters, Lela Wilbanks of Arab, Maggie Coffman and Velma Taylor, both of Eva, and Oma Coffman of Joppa.

He is survived by two sons, Loyd Duayne Greer Jr. and Jonathon Edward Greer, both of Decatur; his mother, Carol Ann Greer of Decatur; and one brother, Steven Edward Greer of Abbeville, Ga.

Mr. Palmer died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at his home. He was born Feb. 16, 1912, in Blount County. He was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. He worked 30 years for Decatur Iron and Steel and was retired from Tennessee Valley Authority.
He is survived by one son, Robert Palmer of Trinity; three sisters, Irene Palmer Terry of Trinity, Birdie Mae Morrison of Birmingham and Bircha Cobb of Clanton; one brother, Ezra Palmer of Hanceville; three grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
Julia Mae Ballentine

Mrs. Ballentine died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Dec. 27, 1921, in Morgan County to Jeff and Elnora Taylor Ballentine. She was a homemaker and a member of Old Way Church of God in Christ, where she served on the mothers' board and was recognized as the oldest mother in the church.
She is survived by three sons, Gene E. Lanier, Frank Ferry Lanier and Frank L. Dillard, all of Decatur; two daughters, Elnora Griffin and Carmella Ward, both of Decatur; one brother, Frank Ballentine of Columbia, Tenn.; one sister, Mary Helen Morris of Columbia; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers.
John McGee

ATHENS -- Funeral for John McGee, 80, of Athens was to be today at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Aaron D. Johnson officiating.
Burial with full military honors was to be in Athens City Cemetery.
Mr. McGee died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born June 10, 1919, in Lauderdale County to Walter J. and Maggie Kelley McGee. He retired after 31 years as a pilot line operator at Thiokol and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4765 and American Legion Post 49.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Bond McGee; one daughter, Jan Thompson of Athens; two brothers, Andrew McGee of Green brier, Tenn., and O.C. McGee of Athens; one sister, Frauline Barnes of Killen, Texas; and one granddaughter.
Pallbearers were to be Richard Holland, Robert Trent, Hubert Aycock, Joel Roberts, Edward Hall and Reginald Britt.
