Billie M. Moye
85, retired beautician

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Billie M. Moye, 85, of Athens will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Robert W. Sharman III officiating and McConnell Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Moye died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Dec. 23, 1914, in Limestone County. She was a retired beautician and a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one nephew and one niece.

Pallbearers will be Bill Beckham, Kreiger Bishop, Bruce Sherrill, Melvin Clem, Dean Steel, Charles Thompson and Louis Fliszar.

Russell Posey
88, retired farmer

MOULTON -- Funeral for Russell Posey, 88, of Moulton will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Sanderson and the Rev. Clyde Goodlet officiating.

Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Posey died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at National Health Care. He was born Oct. 25, 1911, in Lawrence County to Eley and Genomia Dempsey Posey. He served two years in the Army during World War II as a gunner in an anti-aircraft battalion and as a telephone operator. He retired as a farmer and from Lawrence Corp. He was the father of the late Clara Dean Posey.

He is survived by his wife, Trannie Posey; three sons, Leon Posey of Chattanooga, Phillip Posey of Moulton and Wayne Posey of Huntsville; three brothers, Sylvester Posey, Rubert Posey and Herbert Posey, all of Athens; one sister, Pauline Ridinger of Athens; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers.

Henry Paul Randolph
72, TVA retiree

MOULTON -- Funeral for Henry Paul Randolph, 72, of Town Creek will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Milton Burks officiating.

Burial will be in Blackground Cemetery in Town Creek. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Randolph died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at home. He was born Dec. 11, 1927, in Lawrence County to Charles E. and Flora Burden Randolph. He was retired from Tennessee Valley Authority. He was the father of the late Charles T. Randolph and Terry J. Randolph..

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Terry Randolph; two sons, Paul E. Randolph of Town Creek and James M. Randolph of Muscle Shoals; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Masons will be pallbearers.

John William Robinson
79, retired farmer

ATHENS -- Graveside service for John William Robinson, 79, of Athens will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lavoyd Moore officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Robinson died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at home. He was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Truman, Ark. He was a retired farmer, an Army veteran and a member of Apostolic Christian Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Wanda Van-Hoozer and Carolyn Jackson, both of Athens; one stepson, Jimmy DeFoe of Athens; one brother, Luke Robinson of Chicago; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Amalie Schmidbauer
95, homemaker

Funeral for Amalie Schmidbauer, 95, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Schmidbauer died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Sun Bridge Health Care Center. She was born Feb. 19, 1904, in Germany to August and Mary Kenner Burger. She was a homemaker and the widow of Simon Schmidbauer.

She is survived by one son, Walter Schmidbauer of Decatur; and two grandchildren.

Jack Clinton Sharp
67, retired iron worker

HARTSELLE -- Graveside service for Jack Clinton Sharp, 67, of Houston, Texas, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Center Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Ballew officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Sharp died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Diagnostic Hospital in Texas. He was born Aug. 13, 1932, in Morgan County to Morris and Hessie McKee Sharp. He was retired from Wyman-Gordon Forgings, formerly Cameron Iron Works and Cooper Industries, where he worked for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Cecille Jardenil Sharp; two sons, Charles Vincent Sharp of Houston and Carl Sharp of Colorado; two daughters, Leslie Boht and Kathy Holt, both of Arizona; two brothers, Samuel Sharp of Cullman and Milton Sharp of Somerville; two sisters, Lucy Williams of Decatur and Geraldine Sivley of Somerville; and seven grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Ruth McCall Sutton
79, retired hostess

MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- Funeral for Ruth McCall Sutton, 79, of Dand-ridge, Tenn., formerly of Maryville, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Matthews officiating.

Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Roselawn Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.

Mrs. Sutton died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, in Decatur. She was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Knoxville to Robert S. McCall Sr. and Iva Smith McCall. She was retired as a hostess in the Laurel Tea Room at Miller's Department Store. She was the widow of Billy Jordan.

She is survived by three daughters, Carol Jordan of Decatur, Patti McCurley of Alpharetta, Ga., and Sandy Smith of Orlando, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Ottis M. Turrentine
61, plumber

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Ottis M. Turrentine, 61, of Hartselle will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Orville Collins and the Rev. Walter Blackman officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Turrentine died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, in Decatur General Hospital. He was born May 19, 1938, in Lawrence County to Eddie Martin and Lilly Bell Turrentine. He was a plumber.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle Holmes Turrentine; two sons, Patrick Turrentine of Morivia and Shannon Turrentine of Hartselle; two sisters, Myrtis Jones of Moulton and Jewel Boston of Decatur; and three grandchildren

Pallbearers will be Bob Ramey, Greg Bodley, Jeff Huggins, Larry Doyle, Lance Sandlin, Gary Dye, Kevin Howard and Randy Powell.

Herbert H. Wiggins Sr.
79, electrical/aerospace engineer

Funeral for Herbert H. Wiggins Sr., 79, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Charles F. Kriner and the Rev. Don Richter officiating.

Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. at Green view Cemetery in Florence with Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 5:30 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Wiggins died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born April 11, 1920, in Gadsden to Charles Mouzon Wiggins and Ida Mae Waters Wiggins. A graduate of Auburn University, he served as an officer in the 1st Signal Company and landed at Normandy in the early hours of D-Day. He was awarded the Silver Star and published a manuscript, "Signal Stories," about his wartime experiences. He worked as an electrical engineer and aerospace engineer for various employers, including Tennessee Valley Authority, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Teledyne Brown and Boeing Co. He worked with many astronauts and assisted in the design of the Skylab space station. He was active at Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder.

He was an avid gardener and woodworker. He shared much of his time with his friend Mary Felkins. He was the father of the late David Wiggins.

He is survived by two sons, Herbert H. Wiggins Jr. of Decatur and Richard W. Wiggins of Okemos, Mich.; one brother, Gerald Wiggins of Birmingham; and one sister, Ermine Moseley of Gadsden.

Pallbearers will be Bill Greer, David Gardiner III, Henry Richter, Jackie Turner, Charles Qualls and Ken Wood.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be given to the American Heart Association or the fund to build the World War II Veterans' Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Samuel L. 'Fate' McClendon
Funeral for Samuel L. "Fate" McClendon, 81, of Gulf Shores will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Shubert officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. McClendon died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. He was born July 21, 1918, in Scottsboro to Pope and Alice McClendon. A former Decatur resident, he lived in Gulf Shores for 12 years and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.

He is survived by three sons, Randall B. McClendon of Decatur, Richard McClendon of Tuscaloosa and Barrett B. McClendon of Gulf Shores; one daughter, Sherry Faye Blackwell of Rome, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

John E. McGee

ATHENS -- Funeral for John E. McGee, 80, of Athens will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. McGee died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. Other arrangements will be announced.

Marsell O'Dell
64, retired city supervisor

Funeral for Marsell O'Dell, 64, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Jamie Suggs officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. O'Dell died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Aug. 26, 1935, in Town Creek to Edger and Eddie Mae O'Dell. He retired after 22 years of service in 1996 from the city of Decatur, where he had been supervisor of the Street Department.

He is survived by his wife, Zadie Mae O'Dell; one son, Kenny Marsell O'Dell of Decatur; one daughter, Cynthia O'Dell Parker of Decatur; one brother, Lyle O'Dell of Decatur; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lee O'Dell, Brad Nelson, Jimmy Pitt, Gary Haggermaker, Anthony Freeman, Mitch Parker and Tim Ricketts.

Frances Eaves Price

Funeral for Frances Eaves Price , 89, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Mark Tolbert officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Price died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. She was born Oct. 16, 1910, in Decatur to Turner Davis and Annie Smyrl Eaves. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, where she was secretary in the 1950s and 1960s. She was once involved in Central Garden Club and Decatur Mothers Club. She was the widower of Frank H. Price Sr.

She is survived by one son, Frank H. Price Jr. of Somerville; and two grandsons.

Pallbearers will be Joe Black, Herman Marks, Ken Nelson, Max Patterson, Robert Smith and Russell Smith.

Church deacons will be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Friends of the Girl Scout Little House, Girl Scout District Office, 2042 Beltline Road S.W., Decatur, AL 35601, Decatur General Hospital Foundation or a favorite charity.
