John T. Malone

MOULTON -- Funeral service for John T. Malone, 84, of Mount Hope will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Moulton Church of God with Roger Jacobs and Rick Taylor officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Methodist cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 9 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Mr. Malone died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Russellville Hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1917, to Gary and Mae Green Malone. He was a self-employed painter. He was the father of the late Thomas Wayne Malone.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Smith Malone; two daughters, Karen Ann Hill of Rogersville and Margie Carolyn Rae of Muscle Shoals; one stepdaughter, Betty Harville of Falkville; a sister, Kathleen Matthews of Montgomery; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ted Allen Young II, Tim Hill, Jimmy Smith, David Harville, Gary Malone, and Christopher Hill.

Doris Hill Mason

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Doris Hill Mason, 61, of Hartselle will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendall Callahan officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Lawrence County. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mason died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at her home. She was born Feb. 10, 1941, in Lawrence County to Otis Warren Hardin and Lois Irane Gray Hardin. She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. A homemaker, she was the widow of Floyd Hill, and had three sisters and two brothers who died before her.

Survivors include her husband, Billy R. Mason; three daughters, Glenda Farris of Red Bay and Wilma Lynn Gibson and Vicky Williams, both of Hartselle; her mother of Moulton; one brother, Percy Hardin of Moulton; three sisters, Silveree Sterling and Linda Morgan, both of Danville, and Shirley Parker of Decatur; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include John Sterling, Glenn Hardin, Gwen Hardin, Clinton Simmons, Jeremy McAbee and Gerald McAbee.

Memorials may be made to Oak Ridge Baptist Church Women Missionary Union or Hospice of the Valley.

Carl McDaniel

Funeral for Carl McDaniel, 72, of Decatur will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. George Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church for one hour before the service. The family will receive friends to- night from 6 to 7 at the funeral home.

Mr. McDaniel died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born March 24, 1930, in Morgan County to the Rev. Roosevelt McDaniel and Sabra McDaniel. He attended Morgan County Training School and was employed at Lurleen B. Wallace Developmental Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Westside Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Carline McNair of Decatur; two brothers, Leo McDaniel and Jim McDaniel, both of Decatur; one sister, Coease Spraggins of Decatur; and four grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Donald Olen Miller

Funeral for Donald Olen Miller, 61, of Decatur will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Lucky Teague and the Rev. James Chitwood officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Miller died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Baptist Medical Center Princeton in Birmingham. He was born May 23, 1940, in Winston County to Lonie Olen Miller and Clara Robinson Miller. He was a member of Flint Baptist Church and was a retired construction worker and truck driver.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Keith Miller of Moulton and Edward Bart Miller of Decatur; one daughter, Donna Miller Sandlin of Hartselle; two brothers, Eugene Miller and Odene Miller, both of Decatur; one sister Euvonne Nichols of Cullman; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Phi- l- lip Miller, Mark Miller, Ricky Butler, Brian Miller, Raymond Hayes Nichols, Greg Miller, Roger Nichols and Jerry Thorn.

June Ross Jr.

Funeral for June Ross Jr., 61, of Decatur will be Saturday at noon at Reynolds Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Owens officiating.

Burial will be in Sterrs Cemetery.

Mr. Ross died Monday, March 25, 2002, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born July 28, 1940, in Morgan County to June Ross and Hattie Smith Ross. He was an employee of the Decatur Street Department.

Survivors include one son, Richard Ross of Nashville; two daughters, Tawanna McKnight of Decatur and Laura Ross of Nashville; his father, June Ross of Flint; his mother Hattie Sue Ross Pettus of Decatur; one brother, Lee Ross of Triana; two sisters, Alberta Fletcher and Winnie Ross, both of Triana; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include RoebbieSmith, Chester McDay, Montonya Kellogg, Rex Byrd, Dwight Byrd and Victor Byrd.

Chasidy Freda Jeannett Smith

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Chasidy Freda Jeannett Smith, 25, of Vinemont will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Powell Chapel Church with the Rev. Bill Partridge officiating.

Burial will be in Kimbril-Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Ms. Smith died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Nov. 9, 1976, in Walker County. A homemaker, she was the granddaughter of the late Chester and Ima Smith and Houston Kimbril.

Survivors include her parents, Doug and Kathy Smith of Morgan County; one son, Skyler Houston Smith of Morgan County; one daughter, Jasmine Nicole Smith of Morgan County; one sister, LeeAnn Blackwood of Falkville; and grandmother, Freda Marie Kimbril of Vinemont.

Flossie Mae Bailey
CULLMAN -- Funeral for Flossie Mae Bailey, 76, of Vinemont was Thursday at 3 p.m. at Williams-McCracken Funeral Home with Al Barton and Witt Wray officiating.

Burial was in Hamby's Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Bailey died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born July 20, 1925, in Vinemont, to Homer Alvin Nails and Lena Minnie Morgan Nails. She was a homemaker and the sister of the late Vera Lee Dunlap and Bernice Townsend.

Survivors include two sons, Willis Bailey and John Bailey, both of Eva; two daughters, Anita Jenkins and Annie Ruth Quattlebaum, both of Eva; two sisters, Margie Berber of Lanett and Valley Blakston of Adamsville; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Dorris James Hill

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Dorris James Hill, 79, of Athens was to be today at 3 p.m. at Athens City Cemetery with Johnny Evans and James P. Adams officiating.

Mr. Hill died Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born July 22, 1922, in Limestone County. He was retired from Limestone County Vocational School. He was a United States Marine and a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. He was the brother of the late Houston Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Evans Hill of Athens; daughter, Elaine Flanagan of Athens; sister, Eleanor Cox of Athens; three grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Memorials can be made to a favorite charity.

Marilyn Roberts Jeffreys

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Marilyn Roberts Jeffreys, 48, of Hartselle will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Redfern officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8:30 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jeffreys died Thursday, March 28, 2002, at her residence. She was born July 18, 1953, in Morgan County to Joe Roberts and Merle Burchell Roberts. She was a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church. She owned and operated Jeffreys Florist in Hartselle.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Jeffreys; two daughters, Lendy Hancock of Cullman and Leslie Dawson of Bessemer; her mother of Hartselle; her stepfather, Palmer Osborn of Hartselle; two brothers, Mark Roberts and Arthur Roberts, both of Hartselle; two step sisters, Javon Osborn Owens of Albertville and Pam Osborn Hess of Vestavia Hills; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gary McCain, John Pat Orr, Steve McHan, Billy Sims, George "Bubby" McCaghren, Eddie Livingston, Don Hall and Dan Murphy.

Sharon Ann Richards

Funeral for Sharon Ann Richards, 47, of Falkville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitch Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Richards died Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1954, in Decatur. She was a Baptist and worked at General Electric since 1977.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Joe Richards; father and stepmother, Sidney and Lillian Holbert of Jasper, Tenn.; mother, Virginia Mae Cole Holbert of Decatur; one sister, Sandra Allen of Trinity; and three stepsisters.

Pallbearers will be Roger Ragsdale, Mike Segars, Tommy King, Rick McLemore, Shelby McGrady and Steve McBay.

Gerald Lewis Stetler

Funeral for Gerald Lewis Stetler, 69, of Decatur will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with Mark Posey officiating.

Private burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Stetler died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Nov. 19, 1932, in Ann Arbor, Mich., to Gerald F. Stetler and Gladys Shafer Stetler. He was a member of Austinville Church of Christ and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Stetler; one son, Samuel J. Stetler of Decatur; three daughters, Sandra Sims of Helena, Lydia Howe of Pelham and Wendy Stetler of Decatur; his mother of Florida; two sisters, Karen Jones of Michigan and Dorothy Stetler of Florida; and eight grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Austinville Church of Christ Building Fund or American Cancer Society.

Lassie Beatrice Stevenson

Funeral for Lassie Beatrice Stevenson, 89, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Macedonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Harris Toney officiating.

Burial will be in Sterrs Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 to 7 at St. Paul's Spiritual Church. The body also will be at Macedonia Church one hour before the funeral.

Mrs. Stevenson died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at her home. She was born Aug. 31, 1912, in Lawrence County, to Riley Davis and Mattie Bean Davis. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Paul's Spiritual Church where she was active as a mother of the church and mother of the United Helping Hands Ministry Spiritual Conference. Before moving to Decatur, she was a member at Town Creek Number 1 Baptist Church. She was the widow of Claude Stevenson, who died in 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Clyde Leroy Stevenson of Chattanooga and Collis Stevenson of Decatur; one daughter, Dorothy Swoope of Decatur; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 16 great great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Ollie Mae Minor Owens

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Ollie Mae Minor Owens, 98, of Falkville will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Graham and the Rev. Barry Dunn officiating.

Burial will be in Cook Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Owens died Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Oct. 2, 1903, in Winston County to George Thomas Minor and Frances Ellen Hampton Minor. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Gandy's Cove United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was the widow of Bazz Owens and the mother of the late Calvin Kell Owens, the late Vernon Howell Owens and the late Athel Murl Owens.

Survivors include one son, Moval Clinton Owens of Hartselle; four daughters, Elgin Murphree French, Dual Owens McNalley and Fran Owens Greenwell all of Decatur, and Clovis Owens Alford of Falkville; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.
