Brown

Maudie Evelyn Brown, 85, of Higdon, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at her residence.

Services will be today, Saturday, Nov. 13 at Wilson Funeral Chapel at 1 p.m.. The Rev. Cordell Holloway officiated and burial followed in Kirk Memorial Gardens. Wilson Funeral Chapel directed.

She was a member of the Magby Gap Church of Christ.

Camp

Arvel Felton Camp, 72, of Sylvania, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, in an automobile accident.

Services were Friday, Nov. 12, at Wilson Funeral Home with burial in Liberty Cemetery in Painter. Wilson Funeral Chapel directed.

He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Camp

Phyllis Camp, 62, of Geraldine, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at her residence.

Services were Friday, Nov. 12 at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. The Revs. Byron Fricks, Gary Kirk, and Johnny Taylor officiated.

Harris Funeral Home of Geraldine directed.

Rives

Walter Eldon Rives Sr., 79, of Cleveland, Tenn., formerly of Albertville, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, in an Athens health care facility.

Services are today, Saturday, at 1 p.m. in the Fike Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Sears officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 81. A dove release will also be conducted. Fike Funeral Home will direct.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the Navy Air Force. He graduated from Iowa State in the electrical program and wired the first jet propulsion take-off system. After military service, he graduated from Bob Jones College in Tenn. He worked for Hiwassee Utility. He was a member of the Albertville Church of God.

Rogers

Myrtle Rogers, 81, of Grove Oak, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at Crossville Health Care Center.

Services were Thursday, Nov. 12 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Fordyce, Arkansas. Wilson Funeral Chapel will handle arrangements.

Stanley

William Winford Stanley, 46, of Sardis, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004.

Graveside services were Thursday, Nov. 11 at Corinth Cemetery in Aroney with Bro. Hoppy Palmer officiating. Albertville Funeral Home directed.

He was an upholsterer.

Eaton

Bobby Gerald Eaton, 67, of Albertville, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at the Marshall Medical Center South.

Services were Monday, Nov. 15, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wilburn Dunn officiating. Burial followed at Memory Hill Cemetery. Adams Brown Service Funeral Home directed.

He was a veteran and served in the U. S. Navy.

Harris

Michael Lewis Harris, 55, of Cedar Bluff, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at Jackson County Hospital.

Services were Monday, Nov. 15, at Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Jeremy Guinn and Brian Harris officiating. Burial followed at Walkers Chapel Cemetery with Wilson Funeral Chapel directing.

Johnson

Eloise Johnson, 74, of Kilpatrick, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004.

Services are today, Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Albertville Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. with burial in Kilpatrick Cemetery. The Rev. Tommy Green will officiate. Albertville Funeral Home will direct.

She was a homemaker and member of Bran’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Johnston

James Thomas “Tommy” Johnston, 61, of Fyffe, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at his residence.

Services were Monday, Nov. 15, at Wilson Funeral Chapel with burial in Liberty Cemetery in Painter. Wilson Funeral Chapel directed.

Keller

Margaret Ruth Kimbrough Keller, 89, of Albertville, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in Albertville.

Services were Monday, Nov. 15, at First United Methodist Church in Albertville with the Rev. Bill Etheridge officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. Adams Brown Service Funeral Home will direct.

Born Sept. 22, 1915, in the principal’s residence in the old Etowah County High School building in Attalla, she was the seventh and last-born child of James Robert Kimbrough and Bertie Newman Kimbrough. She was a former English teacher at Albertville High School from 1957-1975.

Newman

Dovie Lee Newman, 78, of Albertville, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at the Albertville Nursing Home.

Services were Monday, Nov. 15, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Lonnie Croft and Gary Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove No. 1 Cemetery. Adams Brown Service Funeral Home will direct.

Weir

Georgia Victoria Weir, 96, of Albertville, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at her residence.

Services were Sunday, Nov. 14, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Memory Hill Cemetery. Adams Brown Service Funeral Home directed.

Dobbins

Horace Luvell Dobbins, 65, of Boaz, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Gadsden Regional Hospital.

Services were Saturday, Nov. 13, at Forrest Home Methodist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. The service was officiated by Brothers Dennis Morgan, Steve Casey and Joey Dobbins. Boaz Carr Funeral Home directed.

Harper

Rev. Gary T. Harper, 61, of Albertville, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004 at his residence.

Services will be today, Thursday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m. at Douglas First Baptist Church with burial in White Oak Cemetery in Albertville. The Revs. Raymond Jacobs and Bob Pruitt will officiate. Music will be by Arvel Crumpton and Elizabeth Hanson. Albertville Memorial Chapel will direct.

Powers

Rosemary McIntosh Powers, of Andalusia, formerly of Boaz, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004 in a Birmingham hospital.

Services were Saturday, Nov. 13, at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jim Moran officiating. Special music was provided by Cathy Powell and organist, Dr. Steve Hubbard. Burial followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Smith

Michael Lamar Smith, 50, of Boaz, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, in Gadsden Regional Hospital.

Services were Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Wilson Chapel with burial in Highway Church of God Cemetery. W. T. Wilson Funeral Chapel directed.

Smith

Verna Mae Smith, 70, of Albertville, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at her residence.

Services are today, Thursday, Nov. 18, at 2:30 p.m. at Brasher’s Chapel Congregational Methodist Church with the Revs. Bobby Bentley and Jimmy Humphrey officiating. Burial followed at Alder Springs Cemetery. Adams Brown Service Funeral Home directed.

Spurlock

Jack L. Spurlock, 81, of Attalla, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2004.

Graveside services will be today, Thursday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. with the Revs. Roy Cordell officiating. Burial will follow at Southside Memorial Park. Morgan Funeral Chapel will direct.
