Mrs. Jean Katherine Lund of S. Saint Andrews in Dothan died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 86. A complete list of survivors and arrangements will be announced at a later date by Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Dothan, 793-1117.

Mr. John Jackson "Junie" Mizell of the Ewell community died early Saturday morning, Nov. 23, 2002, in Dale Medical Center. He was 91. Funeral services will be 2 p. m. Monday at Chalkhead Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy West officiating. Interment will follow in the Peniel Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. today at the funeral home parlors until one hour before service time Monday, when it will be held in the church. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. today. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to The Peniel Cemetery Fund, c/o Wayne Davis, Skipperville, AL 36374.

Mary Hendrix Blackmon Skeen, of Caravan Lane in Kinsey, died Friday morning, Nov. 22, 2002, at her home. She was 70. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. James E. Skipper and Carol Skipper officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakey Grove Baptist Cemetery, near Abbeville. Holman-Headland Mortuary, 693-3371, is in charge of arrangements.

Johnny Will Green Jr. died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, in Florida. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Abbeville. Lewis Mortuary of Ft. Gaines, Ga., 912-768-2014, is in charge of arrangements.

Lt. Cmdr. William Charles Hatton Sr. of Alice Drive, Headland, died early Thursday morning, Jan. 2, 2003, in a Dothan hospital. He was 71. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Holman-Headland Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NJROTC Program at Headland High School, 8 Sporman Street, Headland, Ala. 36345.

Mrs. Ethel P. Kirkland, a resident of Westside Terrace, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, after an extended illness. She was 89. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7 at Ward-Wilson Memory Hill funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Singletary officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home Monday, Jan. 6. Flowers will be accepted. Ethel McLain Miller, a resident of Jackson County Convalescent Center, formerly of Newville, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 1, 2003, at Campbellton-Graceville Hospital in Graceville, Fla., following a short illness. She was 90. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Concord Baptist Church, near Newville, with the Rev. James A. Rich officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Holman-Headland Mortuary directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary in Headland. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Concord Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Janara Parrish, 1350 County Road 14, Newville, Ala. 36353.

James “Moon” Mullen of Gastonia, N.C., died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at Courtland Terrace. He was 92. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at First Baptist Church of Gastonia with Dr. Leon Smith officiating. Interment will be a private service. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Carothers Funeral Home of Gastonia. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Courtland Terrace, 2300 Aberdeen Blvd., Gastonia, N.C., First Baptist Church of Gastonia, 2650 Union Road, Gastonia, N.C., or Duke University School of Law, P.O. Lorene Nix died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. She was 88. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Rosehill Baptist Church in Columbus, Ga., with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Survivors include two step-daughters, Ilene Langolis and husband, Leo of Conreo, Texas, and Judith Ann Pearson and husband, Larry of Forest Park, Ga.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Eddie Belle Rowland Ray of Creekside Drive, Dothan, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at the home of a daughter after an extended illness. She was 94. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. (EST) today at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Cordele, Ga.

Junior Roberts of Palm Bay, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002. He was 83. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Florida Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, Fla.

Margaret Kirkland (Polly) Sellers, a resident of Sumatra, Fla., died Wednesday night, Jan. 1, 2003, at her home after an extended illness. She was 80. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Don Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Oakey Grove Baptist Cemetery, near Abbeville. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary in Headland. Mrs. Melissa Darlene Felix Sorrell of Meadows Road, Ashford, died suddenly Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at Searcy Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was 28. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Enon Church of Christ with Brother Tim Smith officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following in the church fellowship building. The family asks that in lieu of flowers charity contributions for expenses be made to her address, 176 Meadows Road, Ashford, Ala. 36312.

Rudolph R. (Tom) Thomas of Shawnee Street, Enterprise, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at the family residence after an extended illness. He was 73. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4 at Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matthew Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Corell Williams of Johnson Circle, Dothan, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002. She was 69. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Alabama Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. W.C. Snell officiating. Burial will follow at Smithville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Unity Funeral Home. Mrs. Williams will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.

Scott Womack, a resident of Norcross, Ga., died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at his residence of an apparent heart attack. He was 38. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Byrd Funeral Home of Dothan, 334-793-3003.

Leroy Woods of Donalsonville, Ga., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at his residence in Donalsonville. He was 77. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Evens-Skipper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Baggett officiating. Interment will follow at Salem-Semilone Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Salem-Seminole Baptist Church, 2785 Joel Poole Road, Donalsonville, Ga. 39845.

Jennifer Lee McNeely of Ashford went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 6, 2002. She was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident in Tallahassee, Fla., while traveling with the Alabama Southern Cruiser Motorcycle Club. She was a member service representative with Alabama Telco Credit Union in Dothan. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 14 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Dothan with the Rev. Ray Jones officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to any local charity of your choice, in her memory.

Mrs. Edna Hewitt Gilmore, 92, a lifetime resident of the Poplar Head Community in Holmes County, Fla., died Monday, July 8, 2002. Funeral services will be held at Poplar Head Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Bill Young and the Rev. Jim Mashburn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva. Final viewing will be in the church one hour prior to services.

Mrs. Emma Lou Dycks, 79, of 109 B. King Ave., Ozark, died Sunday, July 7, 2002. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at the Church of God By Faith in Ozark, with the Rev. J.C. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Ozark City Cemetery in Ozark with Ozark Memorial Chapel Inc., directing.

Ms. Roberta Ellis Pressley, affectionately known as "Love," of 4214 Clay St., Marianna, Fla., died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in Jackson Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced later by Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville.

Mr. Robert Paul Temples Sr., 85, a Dothan resident, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an extended illness. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Gordon City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kent-Thornton Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of Mr. Temples' son, Robert Paul Temples Jr.

Mrs. Erline Simmons of Donalsonville died Monday, July 8, 2002. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home of Donalsonville are in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. David Lee Carroll, 74, of Headland, died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Ft. Gaines Nursing Home in Fort Gaines, Ga., after a short illness. The funeral will be at noon Thursday at the House of Prayer, 1100 Cabot St., Dothan, with the Elder Junior Carroll officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Gordon with Levite Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. today at the funeral home in Parlor B. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

Katie B. Reynolds, 90, of the Asbury community, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at the Medical Center Enterprise in Enterprise. Funeral arrangements may be obtained by calling Searcy Funeral Home.

William Harry Speigner, 84, of Brandon, Miss., and formerly of Enterprise, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, Miss. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Wiggins officiating. Burial will be in the County Line Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Douglas Price , 60, of Columbus, Ga., died Monday, July 8, 2002, at his home in Columbus. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Searcy Funeral Home.

John Douglas Clark, 77, a resident of Brundidge died Sunday, July 7, 2002. Funeral services and survivors will be announced by Bell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ora Edmonia Gill, 88, of Ozark died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in the Ozark Nursing Facility. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Sweet and the Rev. Dean Allerheiligen officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. today. Mrs. Gill's body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time Thursday.

Willie Lee Morris, 77, of Black died Monday, July 8, 2002, at Extendicare Hospice Services Facility in Dothan. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Wesley Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Willie Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home of Hartford directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Celia Jane Bull, 64, of Dothan died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Extendicare Hospice Services Facility following an extended illness. Memorial services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Covenant United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kyle Gatlin officiating and Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Ala., 36302, or the American Cancer Society, 2345 W. Main St., Suite 3, Dothan, Ala., 36301. Vernon Hudson, 93, of Roy Parker Road, Ozark, died Thursday morning, April 25, 2002, in Dale Medical Center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. today from Grace Baptist Temple with the Reverend Douglas Crosby officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

Eric Gerald Grice, 33, of 101 Fencepost Lane, Dothan, died late Tuesday afternoon, April 23, 2002, in the emergency room of the Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, Georgia. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Holman-Headland Mortuary chapel with Rev. James A. Rich and Rev. E.P. Grice Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Memory Hill Cemetery.

Jack Hayward Bass, 81, of 2918 Denton Road, Dothan, died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at his home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Napier United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Brackin and Rev. Bill Westbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory with Holman-Headland Mortuary directing. Pearl Whiddon Adams Branyon, 85, of 3049 Salem Road, Conyers, Georgia, formerly of Headland, died Thursday morning, April 25, 2002, in the Riverside Health Care Center, Covington, Georgia, after an extended illness. The graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday in Gardens of Memory with the Rev. Charles W. Price Jr. officiating and Holman-Headland Mortuary directing. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.

Ernest Benton, 72, of 6015 County Road 57, South, Abbeville, died late Thursday morning, April 25, 2002, in a Dothan hospital. The graveside service will be 11 a.m. (E.D.T.) Monday in the Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, with Bro. Harold Pettis and Bro. Billy J. Dailey officiating and Holman-Abbeville Mortuary directing. Beulah Garner Clements, 88, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday April 25, 2002, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center following a sudden illness. The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Gainous officiating and Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home directing.

Emogene Warren Fernihough, 82, a longtime resident of Enterprise, died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at Medical Center Enterprise, Enterprise. The graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Meadowlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Glenn Butler officiating. Burial will be in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon today at the funeral home.

Catherine Neal Smith, 92, of Enterprise, died Friday, April 26, 2002, at her home in Enterprise. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Searcy Funeral Home.

Norma Jean Magee Lisenby passed away Thursday April 25, 2002 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home of Donalsonville, Ga. Interment will be in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, Ga.

Jazie Bell Lawson, 88, a resident of Ozark, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, in the Ozark Nursing Facility. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Greater Sardis Missionary Baptist Church on Reynolds Street in Ozark .The Rev. S.C. Hudson will officiate. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery. Trawick Funeral Home will direct.

Billie J. Hancock, 76, of 107 Walnut Drive, Enterprise, died Wednesday afternoon, April 24, 2002, in the Medical Center Enterprise after an extended illness. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Louie Reynolds and Jim Duhaime officiating. Burial will be in the Meadowlawn Cemetery with Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends in the funeral home 6-8 tonight.

Carl L. Cobia, 79, of 502 Connelly Street, Dothan, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center after a long illness. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Westgate Church of Christ with Ansley Whatley Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. today at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.

Rochelle Greathouse Prescott, 76, of Westville, Fla., died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, in Wiregrass Nursing Home after an extended illness. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home with the Revs. Gordon Morrison and Larry Sweat Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Anna Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight in the funeral home.

Anthony J. Alcuri, Sr., age 85, of Roeton Community, died Thursday, April 25, 2002 at his home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2002 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Wilkes, Rev. Rex Godwin and Rev. Joe Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery, Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
