Funeral services will be held Sunday April 28, 2002 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev, John Belcher and Rev, Scott Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery with Bottoms Garden Cliapel Funeral Home of Hartford directing. Visitation will be held this evening from 6-8 p.m. at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home of Hartford.

Brandon Strickland, 22 of Clayton, died Thursday, April 25, 2002 at his home Funeral services for Brandon will be Sunday, April 28, 2002 at 3 p.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church in Clayton with Rev. Earl "Bubber” Ledbetter officiating. Burial Will follow in the New Hope Congregational Christian Church Cemetery in Clio with Keahey Funeral Home of Clio Directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday evening.

Willis James Holder, 58, of Route 6, Midland City, died Thursday, April 25, 2002. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Byrd Funeral Home.

Mrs. Melissa Bolin of Yorktown Road, Dothan, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at her residence following a brief illness. She was 46. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at First Assembly of God Church in Dothan with the Rev. Murray Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Bolin's body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Missionary Fund of First Baptist Church in Dothan, 3615 W. Main St., Dothan, Ala. 36305.

Mr. Jerry Lee Brown of Ozark died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Medical Center Enterprise. He was 41. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at Church of God by Faith. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark, 334-774-4551, is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Henry Brown of St. John Road, Gordon, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. He was 59. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at St. John Baptist Church in Gordon with the Rev. Richard O. Wilson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. A memorial and visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 20, at Levite Funeral Home Chapel. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Mr. Johnny Culver of E. Adams Street in Dothan, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, after an extended illness. He was 78. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Horace Williams Mortuary, 792-7099.

Mrs. Mattie Lee Ezell of North Morris Street died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in Wiregrass Nursing Home after a long illness. She was 90. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Lett officiating. Burial will be in the Geneva City Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight in the funeral home.

Gladys Lorene Johnson, a resident of Wesley Manor, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an extended illness. She was 80. Private graveside services will be held in Panama City, Fla., with the Rev. Frank Arledge officiating. Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Lafayette Street United Methodist Church, 208 E. Lafayette St.,? Dothan, Ala. 36301.

Annie Laura Howell Leddon of Panama City, Fla., passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2003, in Panama City. She was 87. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at Bottoms Garden Funeral Home Chapel in Geneva with Dr. Holland Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow at Leddon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at the funeral home.

Betty Jean Long of Graceville died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, at her residence. She was 69. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. (EST) Friday, Feb. 21 at Back Jack Baptist Church in Bainbridge, Ga., with the Revs. Marcus Carrawy, Chester Padgett and Ronnie Wright officiating. Mr. Damon Burkett Lott of Lota Road, Big Creek Community, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness. He was 86. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Woodham officiating. Burial will follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery near Slocomb. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. T.J. (Tom) Peters of West Main Street, Dothan, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at Henry County Nursing Home in Abbeville. He was 89. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, Dothan, with Elder Rodney Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Goodwater Freewill Baptist Cemetery in Wicksburg. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, prior to services. Oneal Roberson, a resident of County Road 57 North in Abbeville, died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 18, 2003, in a Dothan hospital after a short illness. He was 73. The funeral will be 11 a.m. today in the Old Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Winford Gulledge and Rev. John W. Helton Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Abbeville Gardens of Memory with Holman-Abbeville Mortuary directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Hubert Doyle Barnes of Opp died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003. He was 83. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today, Feb. 2 at Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Davis and Gary Winstead offiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Acres Cemetery in Opp.

Pixie Lee Floyd of Extendicare Hospice Services, Dothan, passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003. She was 88. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2 at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Dothan with the Rev. Murry Kelly, the Rev. Al Skipper and the Rev. Jerry Harden officiating. Burial will follow at Harper's Joy Assembly of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb.1 at the funeral home. The family will gather at the residence of Mrs. Floyd's son, Carl Floyd, 2606 Radcliff Road, Dothan.

Mr. John K. "J.K." Powell of Graceville, Fla., passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan following a brief illness. He was 92. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 at First Assembly of God Church in Graceville with the Rev. J.D. Grant, the Rev. Dallas Pettis and the Rev. Leonard Still officiating. Lester Pete Powell of South Bay Springs Road died Thursday evening, Jan. 30, 2003, following an extended illness.?He was 31. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today, Feb. 2 at Faydette Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Charles Littlefield officiating.?Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Mr. James Isham Storm , a resident of Elba Nursing Home, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003. He was 94. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today, Feb. 2 at Daleville Memorial Cemetery in Daleville with Brother David Layton officiating. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. George "Zeno" Windsor of South County Road 55, Cottonwood, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. He was 82. Complete funeral arrangements and a list of survivors will be announced at a later date by Kent-Thornton-Meadow Funeral Home of Dothan, 334-793-1117.

Geraldine Helms Woodside of Hartford died of natural causes Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Carroll County Hospital in Westminster, Md. She was 90 A memorial service for Geraldine will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 at United Methodist Church of Hartford. Born Aug. 20, 1912, she was a native of Hartford and an active member of the United Methodist Church and music teacher for more than 40 years.

Timothy Brooks, of Dothan, died Friday, February 7, 2003 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.? He was 19 years old. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2003 at Patterson Street Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Noble officiating.? Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing.? The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 pm Friday, February 14, 2003.

Mrs. Essie Dean Byrd of Tupelo, Mississippi, a native of the Haw Ridge Community of Coffee County, died early Monday morning, February 10, 2003, in Tupelo, Mississippi. She was 93. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2003, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with the Reverend Phil Craddock officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Westview Heights United Methodist Church, 800 Camila Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360, or Traceway Retirement Community, 2800 West Main, Tupelo, Mississippi 38801. Visitation will be at Holman Funeral Home, 995 South Union Avenue, Ozark, 334-774-5348, from 2 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2003, until service time at 3 p.m., with the family receiving friends during this hour.

He was 85. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 15, 2003, in the Corinth Baptist Church, near Texasville, Barbour County, with Rev. Clyde Hancock, Jr. officiating and Holman-Abbeville Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Haywood C. Sullivan December 15, 1930 ' February 12, 2003 Haywood Sullivan owns the unique distinction of being the only man to serve as a Red Sox player, general manager and owner.? He was a general partner in Red Sox ownership from May of 1978 ' when he, Jean Yawkey and Buddy Leroux purchased the club from the Yawkey Estate ' through the end of the 1993 season, when the Yawkey Trust bought out his general partnership unit.? Sullivan was also executive vice president and general manager in charge of baseball matters from October, 1977 to February, 1984. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2003 in the chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home.?
