Odie Spencer Thomas

Services for Odie Spencer Thomas, 65, of Montevallo, will be Wednesday, July 21 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. with Bro. Roger Willis and Rev. John Ellington officiating. Thompson died July 17.

Survivors include his wife, LuAnn Connor Thompson of Montevallo; his daughter, Debra J. Taylor of Norton, VA; his son, Terry DeWayne Thompson of Calera; six grand children and eight great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Shelby County, the American Cancer Society or the Comfort Care Hospice.

Ralph L. Collum

Services for Ralph L. Collum, 88 of Calera, are today, July 20, at Heritage Church of the Nazarene in Calera at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Shelby Memorial Gardens in Calera at 1 p.m.

Rev. Roy Rodgers, Rev. Gary Aldridge and Rev. Lee Davis will officiate. Martin Funeral Home is directing. Collum died Sunday, July 18 at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Collum; a song, Bill Collum of Clanton; a daughter, Anita C. Winslett of Calera; a brother, Jack Collum of Pelham; a sister, Betty Cofer of Calera and four grandchildren.

Derek Wade Hill
Services for Derek Wade Hill, 20, of Calera, will be Wednesday, July 14, at 11 a.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel in Montevallo. Rev. Mark Lovette will officiate.
Hill died July 11 in Calera.
Survivors include his mother, Pamela Jean Hill of Calera; his father, Billy Ray Hill Jr. of Gardendale; his step-mother Melitia J. Hill of Gardendale; his Fiancee, Tiffany Reeser of Calera; a sister, Missy A. Poe of Jemison; two brothers, Bradley R. Hill of Morris and Bill Joe Hill of Calera; his step-brother, Timothy W. Waits of Warrior, his nephew, Lance Poe of Jemison; and his niece, Brianna Poe of Jemison.

Obie Milford
Services for Obie Milford, 79, of Clanton, will be Wednesday, July 14, at
Samaria Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Charles Brooks officiating.
Milford died July 11 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.
Survivors include his sons, James and Jerry Wayne Milford of Clanton; three grandsons, Joey, Daniel, and Tim Milford of Clanton; a granddaughter, Jeannine Milford of Clanton; his great-granddaughter, Hayley Milford of Clanton; and a sister, Myrtice Noah of Clanton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willodean Taylor Milford.

Harvey A. Emerick
Services for Harvey A. Emerick, 58, of Jemison are today, July 22, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. Charles Brooks and Rev. Shane Wyatt officiating.
Emerick died July 20.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Emerick of Jemison; his sons, Alex Emerick of Clanton and Cameron Emerick of Jemison; his daughter, Crystal J. Emerick of Jemison; two grandsons, Cody A. Emerick of Jemison and Jacob L. Emerick
of Clanton, and his brother, Robert Lee Emerick of Sacramento, CA.

Billy Joe Hurtt
Billy Joe Hurtt, 64, of Birmingham passed away on July 15 at his home. Services were held at Walker Chapel Funeral Home in Fultondale with Rev. Terry Williams officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Winters Hurtt of Birmingham; sons Jeff Winters of Enterprise and William Winters of Clanton; daughter Kimberly Winters of Clanton; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie G. Winters.

Fannie B. Mims
Services for Fannie B. Mims, 81, of Verbena, were Wednesday, July 28 at 1 p.m. at Verbena Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Christensen and Rev. Charles Brooks officiating. Martin Funeral Home directed.
Ms. Mims died July 25 at Hatley Health Care.
Survivors include her sons, Billy Joe Mims of Clanton, Jimmy Mims of Verbena, Curtis P. Mims of Helena, Johnny Mims of Verbena and Richard Mims of Verbena; her daughter, Jean Edwards of Verbena; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George P. Mims.

Ressie V. Smith
Graveside services for Ressie V. Smith, 90, of Calera are Thursday, July 29 at Salem Cemetery with Rev. John (Pete) Fuller officiating.
Mrs. Smith died July 26 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.
Survivors include her sons, William H. Smith of Billingsley and Larry G. Smith of Oakland, CA; her daughter, Ernestine Moon of Calera; a sister, Lela Powell of Clanton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Thomas W. Clark
Services for Thomas W. Clark, 71, of Calera will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30 at Jemison First Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Bass officiating.
Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home, Columbiana.
Mr. Clark who passed away on July 27, was born on November 5, 1932 in Walker County.
He worked for L&N Railroad/CSX for 40 years.
He was a member of Jemison First Baptist Church and a 10 year Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mamie Carol Clark: children, Tony (Cindy) Means, Connie Long, Danny (Lisa) Clark; grandchildren, Brian Hayes, Christopher Long, Wesson Clark, Tyler Means and Grace Means.
Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home is directing.

Billy Joe Wheatley Sr.
Services for Billy Joe Wheatley Sr., 71, of Verbena, are today, July 27, at Trinity Episcopal Church at 6 p.m. with Rev. Bill King officiating.
Martin Funeral Home will direct.
Dr. Wheatley died July 24 at Jackson Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, June Wheatley of Verbena; three daughters, Brenda Pasquale of Jemison, Cynthia Wheatley of Burlington, NJ and Tiffany Haye of Verbena; sons, Billy Joe Wheatley, Jr. of Burlington, NJ and Derek Mason of Verbena, his brother, James L. Wheatley of Pennsville, NJ; his nephew, Charles Wheatley of Burlington, NJ; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Monica Able.

Johnie V. Cleckler
Services for Johnie V. Cleckler, 74, of Eutaw, are today, July 27, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m.
Mr. Cleckler died July 24 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Cleckler of Aliceville; his daughter, Shirley Faye Pigg of Eutaw; three sons, Johnie Wayne Cleckler of Eutaw, Donald Ray Cleckler of Marbury, and Roger Dale Cleckler of Plantersville; two brothers, James Cleckler and Gene Cleckler, both of Clanton; nine grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.

Mary Jo Jacks Willis
Services for Mary Jo Jacks Willis, 54, of Clanton, were Sunday, July 25 at 3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Bussie and Rev. Ralph Jones officiating.
Ms. Willis died July 23.
Survivors include her son, Martin Willis of Clanton; two daughters, Tina W. Smith of Cattlesburg, KY and Sandy Moton of Jemison; her mother, Verlie Mae Jacks of Clanton, her brothers, Carlton Jacks of Prattville and James Carl Jacks of Jemison; and four sisters, Lena Mae Parker of Clanton, Helen Glasscock of Jemison, Virginia Crawford of Verbena and Janice Cherry of Prattville.

Harold McKinnley "Crack" Davis
Services for Harold McKinnley "Crack" Davis, 40, of Clanton, were Saturday, July 24 at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Paul Johnson and Rev. Bill Billingsley officiating.
Mr. Davis died July 22.
Survivors include his father, Harold D. Davis of Clanton; his mother, Mary W. "Jinkey" Davis of Clanton; and his sister, Janet S. Jones of Clanton.

James D. "J.D.: Cofer
Graveside services for James D. Cofer, 58, of Verbena, were Saturday, July 24 at 3 p.m. at Martin Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Charles Cahoon officiating. Cofer died July 22.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Cofer of Verbena; three sons, Lamar Cofer of Verbena, David Douglas of Douglasville, GA, and Chris Cofer also of Verbena; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Michelle Cofer of Verbena; a grandson, Johnathon Cofer of Clanton, three brothers and two sisters.

William S. Easterling
Services for William Samuel Easterling, 69, of Clanton were Saturday, July 24 at 3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W.T. Cleckler officiating.
Mr. Easterling died July 22 at St. Vincent's Hospital.
He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Faye Easterling.

Mamie Judkins Singleterry
Services for Mamie Judkins Singleterry will be held Saturday, July 24 at 11 a.m. at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Jemison.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Agee Brothers Funeral Home will direct.
Ms. Singleterry died July 21.
Survivors include her children, Vera, Frances, Carl, Helen, Carolyn, Jeanette, Barbara, Robert and Gary, all of Jemison.

Paul Namon Northcutt
Services for Paul Namon Northcutt, 80, of Jemison, are today, July 23, at Victory Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Donald Jones officiating. Martin Funeral Home will direct.
Mr. Northcutt died July 21.
Survivors include his wife, Leatha W. Northcutt of Jemison; his daughters, Joan Robinson of Jemison and Judy Henry of Jemison; two granddaughters, Paige Scruggs and Leighsa Robinson both of Jemison; grandsons, Shane Robinson and Bryan Henry of Jemison; and great- grandchildren, Brently and Brittan Scruggs of Clanton, Shayna and Shelbie Robinson, Kassie, Kamber and Ty Bird all of Jemison.

Gladys S. Collins
Services for Gladys S. Collins, 88, of Jemison, were Monday, August 2 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. Donald Jones officiating.
Mrs. Collins died July 31 at Hatley Health Care.
Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Davis of Thorsby; her sister, Roberta Bailey of Jemison, her grandson, Daryl Davis of Thorsby; granddaughter, Dayla Hamilton of Thorsby; and her great-granchildren, Karly Davis of Thorsby, Koby Davis of Thorsby, and Shayla Hamilton of Thorsby.

Kathryn Jones
Services for Kathryn Jones, 91, of Sylacauga, will be today, August 3 at Radney-Smith Chapel in Sylacauga at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ralph Green officiating.
Mrs. Jones died August 1.
Survivors include her husband, John L. Jones of Sylacauga; her daughter, Betty Buttram of Sylacauga; her son, Paul Ray Milford , Sr. of Slapout; her step-daughter, Judy Simmons of Prattville, her granddaughter, Mona Carden of Sylacauga; two grandsons, James Milford of Slapout and Paul Ray Milford, Jr. of Slapout, step granddauhter, Anita Simmons of Prattville; two great-granddaughters, Timeka Baker of Harpersville and Brianna Milford of Slapout; and a great-grandson, Patrick Milford of Slapout.

Lola G. Davis
Services for Lola G. Davis, 90, of Maplesville, are today, Tuesday, August 3 at New Life Assembly of God at 10 a.m. with Rev. Morris Horton officiating. Martin Funeral Home will direct.
Mrs. Davis died July 31.
Survivors include her sons, William A. (Annie) Davis of Maplesville and Donald L. (Jean) Davis of Maplesville; daughters, Doris (T.L) Green of Selma and Sylvia (Charles) Lewis of Maplesville; her brother, Herman Smith of Duncanville; her sister, Ollie V. Giles of Rome, GA; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. Davis; her daughter; Helen Ratliff and her great-great grandson, Morgan Riggs Ratliff.
