Clara B. Merchant

Services for Clara B. Merchant, 97 of Thorsby, will be held Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at Thorsby Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Alvin Porter will officiate.

Merchant, a homemaker, died Monday at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.

She is survived by her sister, Lodene Whittenburg of Montgomery and her brother C.D. Hayes of Kenoska, Wis. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Betty Peacock Darabaris

Services for Betty Darabaris, 82, of Montgomery, were held Dec. 14 at Martin Chapel with burial at Chilton Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Darabaris, an office manager, died at John Knox Manor in Montgomery Dec. 12.

Survivors include her son, Robert Darabaris of Montgomery; sisters, Carrie Peacock and Willie Young, both of Birmingham and Ann McCaleb of Hoover and two grandsons.

Mary Ella Deloach

Services for Ella Deloach, 70, of Clanton, will be held today, Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. at martin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Thurmond Cleckler officiating.

Mrs. Deloach, a telephone operator, died at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham Dec. 13.

Survivors include her daughters, Frances and Sandra Taylor, both of Clanton; granddaughters, Kelly Taylor, Jodie Argo and Angie Headley, all of Clanton and six great-grandchildren.

Loren Gary Williams

Memorial services for Loren Williams, 57, of Auburn, will be held Dec. 20 at Auburn United Methodist Church with George Mathison and Reverend Charles Cummins officiating.

Mr. Williams, a serviceman and a tire manufacturer, died Dec. 12.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Williams of Auburn; sons, Michael Williams of auburn and Phillip Williams of Fairhope; grandson, Mason Williams and aunt, Rebecca Cumbie of Loachapoka.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts be made to Mr. Williams' church, Auburn United Methodist.

Lonnie Monroe Melton, Sr.

Services for Lonnie Melton, 57, of Verbena, will be held today, Wednesday, Dec. 17 at Martin Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Bethsalem Baptist Cemetery in Billingsley with Reverend Wendell Kelley officiating.

Mr. Melton, a foreman, died at Chilton Medical Center Dec. 15.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Melton of Verbena; sons, Lonnie and Christopher Melton, both of Verbena; grandsons, Stephen, Wesley and Lonnie Melton; brothers, Ollis Melton of Montgomery and James Melton of Clanton.

Erika K. Campbell

Services for Erika Campbell, 64, of Calera, will be held today, Dec. 17 at Rocky Mount Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Methodist Cemetery in Jemison with Reverend Willard Fredrick officiating.

Mrs. Campbell, a homemaker, died at Brookwood Medical Center Dec. 15.

Survivors include her son, Robert Knapp of Jemison; granddaughters, Natasha Campbell of Jemison and Janet Campbell of Shelby and grandson, Patrick Knapp of Jemison.

Mattie Olys Pate Gulledge

Services for Mattie Gulledge, 83, of Thorsby will be held today, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Verbena Cemetery with Reverends Kenny Short, Nolan Mauldin, Howell Easterling and Frank Nelson officiating.

Mrs. Gulledge, a clerk, died at Chilton Medical Center Dec. 16.

Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte Killingsworth and Mary Godwin, both of Thorsby; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Shirley B. Jackson

Services for Shirley Jackson, 66, of Calera, will be held today, Dec. 18 at Charter Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery with Reverend Mark Sickmiller officiating.

Mrs. Jackson, a former flower shop owner, died Dec. 16.

Survivors include her daughters, Dianne Wilkins of Jemison, Judy Burns of Birmingham and Maxine Myers of Clanton; grandchildren, Amy Ivey, Kathie Conway, Chasity Tubbs, Tabitha Taylor, all of Jemison; Amanda and Thomas Burns of Denver, Colo. and great-grandson, Ethan Ivy of Jemison.

Mrs. Odie Bell Smith

Services for Odie Smith, 84, of Clanton, will be held today, Dec. 12, at Martin Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Old Madcedonia Cemetery in Clanton with Rev. W.T. Cleckler and Wendell Kelley officiating.

Mrs. Smith, a homemaker, died Dec. 10.

Survivors include her sons, Wilton, Wayne, Charles and Robert Smitherman, all of Clanton; daughters, Lamerle Heflin, Everene Minor, Dollie Bell Hesler, Myrtice Walker and Shirley Patterson, all of Clanton; brothers, Hoyt Cleckler of Childersburg, Orville Cleckler of Mobile, Elmer Cleckler of Mobile; sisters Myrtice Edwards and Velma Mims, both of Clanton; 31 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mollie Bee Neeley Williams

Services for Mollie Williams,101, of Verbena, will be Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church in Verbena with burial to follow in the church yard.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be today, Dec. 12, from 5-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home.

Survivors include her daughter Hazel Kelley of Clanton, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Frances Marie Mahan

Services for Frances Mahan, 95, of Clanton, will be held today, Dec. 3 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton. Reverends Mark Bolton and W.T. Cleckler will officiate.

Mrs. Mahan, a homemaker, died at her home, Dec. 1.

She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Smitherman and Nelda Baker, both of Clanton; sons Willard and Brannon Mahan of Clanton; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Bill Burt Bolding

Services for Bill Bolding, 74, of Randolph, will be held today, Dec. 3 at Randolph Baptist Church with burial following in the churchyard. Reverends Robert Mahaffey and Charles Teague will officiate.

Mr. Bolding, a heavy equipment operator, died at Baptist Medical Center Princeton, Dec. 1.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy Bolding of Randolph; son, Billy Bolding of Randolph; daughter, Pan Worrell of Hoover; grandchildren, Alison Quimby, Bradley Worrell, Jonathan Bolding, Claudia Worrell, Lauren Bolding, Cyana Quimby and Cody Quimby.

David H. Patterson

Services for David Patterson, 72, of Rincon, Ga., were held Dec. 3 at Strickland Funeral Home with burial following at Effingham Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Ga.

Patterson, a former Clanton native, died in his Georgia home, Nov. 30.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Patterson of Richon; children, Theresa and Matt Carmichael of Guyton and David and Becki Patterson of Clyo; grandchildren, Alex McCord and Michelle McCord; brothers, Ross Patterson of Montgomery, Kenneth Patterson and Herschell Patterson, both of Clanton and his sister, Patty Brooks of Clanton.

James Macon Boswell

Services for James Boswell, 54, of Clanton, will be held today, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at Chestnut Creek Baptist Church in Verbena. Burial will follow in the churchyard with Reverend Derek Deavers officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Boswell of Clanton; sons, Tim and Terry Boswell, both of Verbena; grandsons, Brad, Wesley, Tyler and Tanner Boswell; sister, Ruth Vinzant of Jemison and several nieces and nephews.
