Nancy Ann Crawford Wheeler, a resident of the Henry County Nursing Home, Abbeville, died Thursday morning, February 13, 2003, in a Dothan hospital after a short illness. She was 88. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, February 15, 2003, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Steve Poteat officiating and Holman-Abbeville Mortuary directing. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

Mrs. Jimmie Lou Thompson Alums of Ariton, the Center Ridge Community, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at her home following an extended illness. She was 75. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Center Ridge Baptist Church with the Reverend Johnnie LaCarter and the Reverend Randy Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be at Holman Funeral Home from 6 until 8 tonight with the family receiving friends during this time.

Robbie L. Bottoms of Hartford passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 in Dothan. He was 75. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Hurricane United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Stanley Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Ms. Shirley Bowden of Lingo Road in Dothan passed away at her residence Monday, Feb. 10, 2003. She was 51. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until noon. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Earl B. Bowman of Ozark died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 11, 2003, at Dale Medical Center. He was 70. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark, 774-4551.

Timothy Brooks of Dothan died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 19. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Patterson Street Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Noble officiating. Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Essie Dean Byrd of Tupelo, Miss., a native of the Haw Ridge Community of Coffee County, died early Monday morning, Feb. 10, 2003, in Tupelo, Miss. She was 93. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later through Holman Funeral Home of Ozark, 774-5348.

Mrs. Claudie Lee Creel of Geneva, and a resident of Enterprise Nursing Home, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, in Enterprise Medical Center following a brief illness. She was 90. The funeral will be 2 p.m. today in the Geneva Church of God with the Rev. Paul Lett officiating. Burial will be in Geneva City Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Sammy Crews of Geneva passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003 at Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva. He was 65. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. in the Midway United Methodist Church with Rev. James Lolley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home of Geneva directing. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight at Bottoms Garden Chapel Home.

Aubrey Farmer, a resident of County Road 414, Headland, died Monday night, Feb. 10, 2003, in a Dothan hospital following a short illness. He was 78. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Dave Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery, near Headland. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary in Headland.

Mr. Loyce M. Free of Bermuda Street in Ozark died at his residence Sunday evening, Feb. 9, 2003. He was 89. Funeral arrangements may be obtained by calling Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark, 774-4551.

Imogene Elizabeth Godley of Satilla Drive in Brunswick, Ga., died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, in Wiregrass Nursing Home after a brief illness. Funeral arrangements may be obtained by calling Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, 684-2600.

Mr. William Troy Hall, age 85 of County Road 73, Slocomb, died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at the family residence after an apparent heart attack. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb, 886-7777.

Mrs. Dorothy Beulah Harden of Hartford, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003 at the family residence after an extended illness. She was 83. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Hauser officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, Ala., directing.

Edith Bentley Knowles, a resident of N. Broad Street, Newville, died Sunday afternoon, Feb. 9, 2003, at her home. She was 64. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Roberson officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Plains Baptist Cemetery, between Headland and Columbia.

Agartha Espy Miller, of Kirkland Street, Abbeville, died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 11, 2003, in the Henry County Nursing Home in Abbeville. She was 88. Complete arrangements and a list of survivors will be announced by Holman-Abbeville Mortuary, 585-5261.

Mabel Skipper Patton of Enterprise died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 in Enterprise after an extended illness. She was 91. Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. today from the Enterprise City Cemetery with Dr. G. Lance Hogan officiating and Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. today.

Jada Lashae Powers, 3-month-old infant daughter of Tabitha Powers and Alphonzo Sanders of Dothan, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. today at Memory Hill Cemetery with Pastor Kerry Kizer officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Margaret Clark Reid of Dothan died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, in Jackson County Convalescent Center, Graceville, Fla. She was 88. Survivors include: one son anddaughter-in-law, Richard and Alicia Reid of Dothan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Ed Kreager of Hernando Beach, Fla., Donna and Dale Jung of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Isabel Puff, of Palm Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark, 774-4551, is in charge of arrangements.

Infant Kane Patrick Shehee of State Highway 85 in Bellwood passed away at birth Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. Funeral services were held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, Feb. 7, 2003 with Rev. Mart Gray and Rev. Ken Harrison officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery of Elba with Haye Funeral Home directing.

Johnnie Byrd Smith of Enterprise died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at her home in Enterprise. She was 91. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Searcy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Taylor Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in the Enterprise City Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 5-7 tonight at the funeral home.

Marian Queen Smith, of Junaluska Avenue, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at her residence. She was 77. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Sam Brassell officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 423 East Cottonwood Road, Dothan, Alabama.

Quenton Stanford, a resident of Newton, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Flowers Hospital following an extended illness. He was 83. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today at Newton First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Andy Wood, Rev. Frank Standifer and Rev. Ricky Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. Mr. Stanford will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time today. Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Vivian B. Adams School.

Mrs. Inez Hughes Strickland age 83 of the Asbury community died Tuesday morning, Feb. 11, 2003, at Ozark nursing facility. She was 83. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ken Spivey and Dave Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston funeral home directing. Her body will be placed in the church one hour before service time. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednsday. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions are requested to be given to the Asbury United Methodist Church 2536 Co. Road 33, Ozark, Ala. 36360.

Katie Bell Taylor, a resident of Midland City, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Morris officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Midland City with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Ann Moring Tew, a resident of 81 Jean Street, Cowarts, died Tuesday afternoon, February 11, 2003, in a Dothan hospital after an extended illness. She was 68. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Cowarts Baptist Church. Complete arrangements and a list of survivors will be announced by Holman-Headland Mortuary, 693-3371.

Obie Dot White Register Dorriety passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Washington County Convalescent Center, Chipley, Fla. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Hartford City Cemetery, Hartford, with the Rev. Shane Traylor and the Rev. John Wayne Hicks officiating. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, 6-8 p.m., at Brown Funeral Home in Chipley, Fla.

Sarah Helen Earnest passed away at a local health care center on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003. She was 71. A graveside service will be held Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Howard's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Cottonwood, with the Rev. Paul Gilbreath officiating. The cemetery is located on County Road 55 between Cottonwood and Ashford.

Pixie Lee Floyd, of Extendicare Hospice Services, Dothan, Ala., passed away, Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003. She was 88. Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home (Dothan) with the Rev. Murray Kelly, the Rev. Al Skipper, and the Rev. Jerry Harden officiating. Burial will follow at Harper's Joy Assembly of God Cemetery with Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home directing.

Arlene (Moore) Fonti of Covington, La., formerly of Elba, died Friday at Saint Tammany Hospital, Covington, La. She was 68. Funeral services will be at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jimmy Maddox officiating. Visitation will be held at Hayes Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, 9-11 a.m. Burial will follow in Zion Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Jack, Ala, with Hayes Funeral Home directing.

J.D. King of Young America Drive, Dothan, passed away Feb. 2, 2003. He was 69. A complete list of survivors and arrangements will be announced later by Unity Funeral Home. Unity Funeral Home, 792-5169, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gladys Herring Odom, of Shiloh Rd. (Dundee Community), Hartford, died Sunday Feb. 2, 2003, at the Hartford Health Care after an extended illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. J Robert McMicken officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 p.m. The body will be placed into the church one hour prior to service time. Lunch for the family will be served at Shiloh Baptist Church beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lester Pete Powell, of 221 S. Bay Springs Road, died Thursday evening, Jan. 30, 2003 following an extended illness. He was 31. The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Feb. 2, 2003, at Faydette Assembly of God Church with Rev. Charles Littlefield officiating. The body was placed in the church one hour prior to service time. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.

George E. "Zeno" Windsor, of Cottonwood, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Flowers Hospital, Dothan. He was 82. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home, Ashford. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will bet he Rev. Michael Whitt.

Gladys Little Adams, of County Road 83 in Newville, died Monday morning, Feb. 3, 2003, at her home. She was 67. Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Revs. Robert E. Price and Hugh D. Kirkland Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Deltona Memorial Gardens, Orange City, Fla. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary chapel in Headland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, Inc., P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Ala. 36302 or to the American Cancer Society, 2346 West Main Street, Suite 3, Dothan, Ala. 36301.

Adeane Bedsole Gresham, a resident of Wesley Manor Retirement Center, Dothan, died Monday morning, Feb. 3, 2003, in a Dothan hospital after a short illness. She was 79. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Newton City Cemetery with the Rev. David Willis officiating and Holman-Headland Mortuary directing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Manor Retirement Center, Fountain of Love Fund, 718 Honeysuckle Road, Dothan, Ala. 36305.

Mr. Peter B. Kirt of South Hill Street in Enterprise died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at the family residence. He was 62. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home, 347-9598, is in charge of arrangements.

Martha Laris Christmas Lunsford of Cuthbert, Ga., died Feb. 1, 2003. She was 89. The graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at East View Cemetery in Cuthbert. Mrs. Lunsford was born April 25, 1913, in Cottonwood, daughter of the late Joseph E. Christmas and Antie Hughs Christmas. She graduated from Ashford High School in 1930.

James Arthur Maddox of Mandarin Avenue in Dothan passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 69. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Jamie Danford officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home. The family will accept flowers but request that memorial contributions be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church, 1619 South Park Ave. in Dothan.

Douglas David Reynolds of Silverado Drive in Kinsey, died Monday morning, Feb. 3, 2003, in a Dothan hospital after a brief illness. He was 61. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church, near Headland, with the Rev. Dave Collins officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory with Holman-Headland Mortuary directing. The family will receive friends 4:30-6:30 p.m. today at the mortuary in Headland.

Virginia Lunsford Stephens of Enterprise died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, in Enterprise. She was 74. The funeral will be 2 p.m. today in the Searcy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Mac McGlothern officiating. Burial will be in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home. Ms. Stephens was preceded in death by her father, Richard Shelton Lunsford, and her mother, Annie Ruth Lunsford.

Marvin L. Weeks of Hartford passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, in Hartford. He was 83. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the First United Methodist Church in Hartford with the Revs. Kevin Krist and Dr. Billy Gaither officiating. Burial will be in Hartford City Cemetery with Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home of Hartford directing.

F. Bruce Whitehead, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at his residence following a brief illness. He was 74 years of age. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Christ Church International with Pastor Paul Estes officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill with Byrd Funeral Home directing. Mr. Whitehead will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. The family will be at the home of his daughter, 23 Chadwick Circle, Dothan.

Mr. George E. "Zeno" Windsor of Cottonwood died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Flowers Hospital, Dothan. He was 82. The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Ashford. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Michael Whitt will officiate. Interment will be in Bluff Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Ashford. Other than scheduled visitation times, the family will receive friends at Mr. Windsor's daughter's house, Dorothy Long, 69 Wood St. in Cottonwood. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund in Cottonwood.

Gladys Little Adams, of 4466 County Road 83, Newville, died Monday morning, February 3, 2003, at her home. She was 67. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2003, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Robert E. Price and Rev. Hugh D. Kirkland, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Deltona Memorial Gardens, Orange City, Florida. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary chapel in Headland.

Betty A. Davis of Pensacola, formerly of the Dothan area, passed away Monday, Feb.3, 2003, at her residence. She was 78. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, Pensacola, with Dr. Gordon Godfrey and Brother Ron Foster officiating. Interment will be in Dothan City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
