Nancy Parker, age 71, of Town Creek, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2004, at ECM Hospital.

Mrs. Parker was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tennis and Bert Harville.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel in Moulton with Bro. Ronnie Edgil and Bro. Greg Rucker officiating. Interment was in Ferguson Cemetery in Town Creek.

Pallbearers were Rickey Sutton, Ricky Appleton, Ricky Fike, Shane Parker, Hershel Bishop, Terry Landers, and Brandon Borden. Honorary bearers were Jacob Young, Chanse Parker, Dylon Parker, Bronson Parker, Mikey Landers, Tyler Landers and Casey McCutcheon.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband, Melvin Parker; three sons, Phillip Parker and wife Sonja, of Vinemont, Randal Parker and wife Donna, of Trinity, and Tim Parker and wife Denise, of Town Creek; three daughters, Kay Parker of Town Creek, Nell Poston of Town Creek, and Loretta Young and husband Lane, of Mt. Hope; a brother, Andrew Johnson of Moulton; two sisters, Lula Sutton of Town Creek and Melba Maupin of Town Creek; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Ruth Eunice Davis Taylor, age 87, of Haleyville, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2004, at Haleyville Health Care.

Mrs. Taylor was a member of Needmore Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Orial Taylor.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2004, at Pinkard Funeral Home with Gary Patton and Cecil Cox officiating. Interment was in Littleville Cemetery.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by a son, Harold Ray Taylor and wife Dena, of Haleyville; a daughter, LaNell T. Barker and husband Max, of Nauvoo; a sister, Beatrice Gentle of Haleyville; five grandchildren, Rex, Mark and Carey Barker, Tanya Griffen and Darryl Taylor; thirteen great-grandchildren; one niece and eight nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ruth Marene Oswalt, age 77, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2004, at Terrace Manor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Oswalt was a native of Fulton, Mississippi, but lived most of her life in Franklin County. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Oswalt.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2004, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel with Ricky Watt officiating. Interment was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

Mrs. Oswalt is survived by two sons, Larry Oswalt and wife Patsy, of Russellville, and Billy Oswalt and wife Nancy, of Mt. Hope; five grandchildren, Chris Oswalt, Tina Bolton, Lisa Prince, John Oswalt, and Travis Oswalt; and four great-grandchildren, Tyrel Bolton, McKenzie Oswalt, Sierra Prince and Autumn Prince.

Luella Pearl Posey, age 93, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2004, at Burns Nursing Home.

Mrs. Posey was a native of Birmingham but had made her home in Russellville for the past three years. She was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Posey; a still born baby Posey; and Ray Posey.

Graveside funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2004, at Midway Cemetery in Birmingham.

Mrs. Posey is survived by a grandson, Scott Thomas and wife Tammy; and three great-grandchildren, Janna Shirey, Tristin Thomas and Kayla Shae Thomas, all of Russellville.

Nellie Prince, age 79, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2004.

Mrs. Prince was a native of Franklin County. She was a member of Centerview Church of Christ in Russellville and was an active member of the Russellville Senior Ladies Exercise Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.H. and Jessie Brown.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2004, at Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charlie Britnell, Bro. George Hutto, and Bro. Larry Prince officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers were Phillip Prince, Hunter Prince, Tanner Prince, Blake Prince, Brock Prince and Blake Jackson. Honorary bearers were Chuck Britnell, Alan Britnell and Lynn Brown.

Mrs. Prince is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles Edward Prince; three sons, Larry Prince and wife Jennie, Ronald Prince and wife Marqueta, and Anthony Prince and wife Jodi, all of Russellville; a brother, James Brown of Muscle Shoals; eleven grandchildren, Phillip Prince and wife Nikki, of Russellville, Hunter Prince of Naples, Florida, Lynn Ponder and husband Doug, of Gardendale, Erin Lindsey and husband Ken, of Russellville, Tanner Prince of Russellville, Nathalie Crane and husband John, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Blake Prince of Athens, Brock Prince of Russellville, Blake Jackson of Russellville, Megan Jackson of Russellville, and Austin Prince of Russellville; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

J.C. Green , age 72, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at ECM Hospital in Florence.

Mr. Green was a native of Franklin County and a member of West Highland Baptist Church. He was an army veteran of the Korea Conflict and was retired from U.S. Reduction Company after 26 years of service. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Green ; and a brother, Earl Green .

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2004, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel with Jason Green officiating. Interment was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Martha Green ; two sons, Jerry Green of Russellville and Benny Green of Paducah, Kentucky; four brothers, Horace Green , Billy Green , Ted Green , and Terry Green , all of Russellville; two sisters, Mary Woodruff of Hartselle and Jo Ann Williams of Russellville; three grandchildren, Jessie Wayne Green , Anna Cathrine Green , and Candace Jade Woods; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Eula Mae Susie Kalmbach, age 75, of Moulton, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2004.

Mrs. Kalmbach was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Annie Odell King; and a son, Stanley Burt Owens.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2004, at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scott Delashaw and Bro. Tim Graham officiating. Interment will be in East Lawrence Memorial Garden.

Mrs. Kalmbach is survived by her husband, George Kalmbach, Jr.; a son, John Leonard Kalmbach of Russellville; two daughters, Cynthia Blakely of Moulton and Audrey Johnson of Russellville; four brothers, L.C. King of Price ville, Leslie King of Moulton, Felton King of Russellville, and James King of Moulton; five sisters, Margaret Kemper of Georgia, Ruby Frink of Indiana, Dorothy Shere of Hatton, Kitty Kay Parker of East Lawrence, and Bertha Houston of Georgia; fourteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Leo McCulloch, age 73, of Akron, Ohio, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2004, at Antioch Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Russellville. Interment was in Luketown Cemetery.

Mr. McCulloch was formerly of Russellville.

Charles W. Collier, age 55, of Russellville, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Akins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

Flora Rousseau, age 77, of Scottsboro, passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004.

She was born May 17, 1927, in Jackson County, where she lived the remainder of her life. She is the daughter of Jesse Lee Talley and Kitty Nellie Mae Sanders Talley. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and retired from Scottsboro Nursing Home after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Addie Marie Whitehead, and brothers Sanders B. (Pete) Talley and Samuel Talley.

Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Cooper officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Rousseau is survived by her husband of 56 years Archie M. Rousseau; daughter, Paulette Knopps, Scottsboro; two sons, Dr. Morgan Rousseau and wife Pamela of Russellville and Dr. Ryllis Rousseau and wife Rene of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Scott Knopps and wife Stephanie and Stacie Knopps of Scottsboro; Dr. Jason Rousseau and wife Abby of Spartanburg, S.C.; Amanda Rousseau Thomas and husband Chris of Harvest; Erica Rousseau of Russellville; and Tiffany, Rebecca, and Emily Rousseau of San Antonio. She is also survived by a sister, Bobbie Mullican of Scottsboro; and brothers Mose Talley of Columbus, Ga., and Kenneth Ray Talley of North Jackson, and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Dr. Jason Rousseau, Chris Thomas, Bob Mullican, Danny Vandiver, Chris Cooper and Scott Knopps.

Mary Ethel Stout, age 96, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at Hellen Keller Hospital.

She was a native of Franklin County and a member of Waco Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Stout; one son, Charles Stout; one daughter, Annie Lee Horton; parents Nathan and Hattie Green and 12 siblings.

A graveside service was held Thursday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. at Franklin Memory Gardens with T.A. Duke officiating.

Mrs. Stout is survived by one daughter, Sara Spires of Sheffield; seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dewayne Suddith, Mike Horton, Sammy Horton, Thomas Spires and Larry Stout.

Carl Grady Pounders, age 70, of Russellville, passed away Monday, December 13, 2004.

Mr. Pounders was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Revere and Lillie Davis Pounders.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Greg Beasley officiating. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

Mr. Pounders is survived by his wife, Catherine Malone Pounders; two sons, Mike Pounders and wife Georgia, of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Kim Pounders (Cotton) and wife Jean, of Tuscumbia; a daughter, Brenda Ovitt; a sister, Willie Mae Logan of Russellville; five grandchildren, Ashley Pounders, Jonathan Alsbrooks, David Bradley, Deedra Curry, and Dayle Pace; a great-grandchild, Autumn Curry; his aunt, Maxine Dice of Ohio; a niece, Emily Seal; a nephew, Wiley Logan; a great-nephew, Jacob Seal; and a host of cousins.

Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.

James Harold Seal, age 40, of Russellville, passed away Monday, December 13, 2004.

Mr. Seal was preceded in death by his father, Henry Jones Seal.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mark Smith officiating. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

Mr. Seal is survived by his mother, Margie Putnam of Russellville; two sisters, Doris Prince and Judy Britton; two brothers, Loyd Tollison and Johnny Tollison; special friends James and Bertha Elledge; and several nieces and nephews.

Spry Chapel assisted the family.

Buena Cleo Chambers Smith, age 91, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2004, at Douglasville Nursing and Rehab.

Mrs. Smith was formerly of Haleyville. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and a former member of Corinth Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Smith; and her parents, Walter and Pearl Chambers.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 12, 2004, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Dr. T.B. Stringfellow officiating. Interment was in Corinth Heights Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, Donald Smith and wife Thomasine, of Sumter, South Carolina, and Roger Smith and wife Alice, of Douglasville, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Howard, Jr., Sherry, Susan, Lisa, Rebecca, Brian, Benny, Jr., Mark and Christi; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
