Annie P. Cook, of Dothan, died Sunday, April 6, 2003 at her residence following an extended illness. She was 91.
Complete arrangements and a list of survivors will be announced later by Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home, Dothan, 334-792-4194.

Eula Mae Addison, a resident of Extendicare Hospice Facility died there Sunday, April 06, 2003 following an extended illness. She was 89.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Bluff Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Homer Davis and Rev. Barry Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Addison will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Mr. Mack Brown Barker of Geneva died Sunday, April 6, 2003, in Wiregrass Medical Center after an extended illness. He was 59. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Liberty Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs. Donnie Earles and Raymond Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Edward "Steve" Carnley of Enterprise, died Monday, April 7, 2003, at his home in Enterprise. He was 61. The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2003, in the Searcy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ted Satterfield officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Jesse R. Cheatham Sr., a resident of Dothan, Alabama, died Thursday, April 3, 2003. He was 83. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. today at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lawson Bryan officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Wiregrass Heritage Chapter National Railway Historical Society, c/o Danny Lewis, 1217 Petty St. Dothan, Ala. 36301.

Mrs. Annie Pearl Cook of Bruner Road in Dothan, died Sunday morning, April 6, 2003, at home following a short illness. She was 91. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at Selma Baptist Church with Rev. Thaxton Whiddon and Elder Odell Deese officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Belinda Faye Day of Watson Bridge Road in Kinsey died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at her residence following an extended illness. She was 58. The funeral will be 3 p.m. EDT Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely, Ga. The Revs. Ralph Sigler and Kerry Kizer will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Lawn Gardens in Blakely, Ga. Visitation will be from 7 until 9 p.m. EDT today at the funeral home.

Mr. Gary Lee Johnson of Newton died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Oakview Manor in Ozark. He was 55. The graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at Claybank Cemetery. Chaplain Randall Johnson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson was a member of Newton Baptist Church.

Mrs. Johnnie Mae Jones, a resident of Ozark, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at her residence. She was 69. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Trawick Funeral Home of Ozark.

Tsurue Toni Maughan, a Daleville resident, died late Wednesday night, April 2, 2003 at her residence following an extended illness. She was 72. The body was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later time. Southern Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory will announce service arrangements.

Mrs. Mattie Lee Mitchell of State Highway 27 in Newville, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. She was 63. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at First Missionary Baptist Church of Columbia with Rev. Floyd Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Levite Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be today at the funeral home parlor B. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.

Lula Mae Nelson of Dothan died Saturday, April 5, 2003 at her residence following a short illness. She was 70. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Peter Baptist Church in Abbeville, with the Rev. James B. Smith officiating. The body will be placed in the church an hour before the service, and Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mr. James "Hugh" Summerlin of Ashford died Monday, April 7, 2003 at his residence following an extended illness. He was 88. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at Dothan City Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home in Ashford from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Officiating will be Minister Tim Smith of Enon Church of Christ.

Mrs. Ann Nell Williams Thompson of Millbrook died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery following an extended illness. She was 62. The funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. The Rev. Randy Adams will officiate. Burial will follow in Universal Cemetery in Ariton.

Naomi Beasley Williams of County Road 549, Newton, near Pinckard, died Sunday night, April 6, 2003, at her home, surrounded by her family, after an extended illness. She was 82. The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bobby Skipper and Dr. Harvey Luke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Holman-Headland Mortuary directing. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 tonight at the mortuary in Headland.

Mrs. Nellie Ruth Austin of Dogwood Drive, Hartford, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Flowers Hospital after a brief illness. She was 85. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3 at First United Methodist Church in Hartford with the Rev. Billy D. Gaither and the Rev. Kevin Krist officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church in Hartford.

Harry Howell of Mexico Beach, formerly of Marianna, Fla., died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, in Marianna. He was 76. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 3 at First United Methodist Church in Marianna with the Revs. Ted Lovelace and Fred Zeigler officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Mexico Beach Building Fund or a charity of choice.

Jules F. "Buzz" Mier Jr., a native of Rayne, La., was killed Thursday, March 27, 2003, in a helicopter crash while aiding NASA in the search and recovery of wreckage of the space shuttle Columbia in Angelina National Forrest near Lufkin, Texas. He was 56. Memorial services will be Saturday, April 5 Canyon side.

Ms. Willie Merle Parrish of Coffee Springs died Sunday morning, March 30, 2003, in Jackson County Convalescent Center, Graceville, Fla., after an extended illness. She was 76. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 at Fairview Baptist Church, Highway 87 North, with the Rev. Hubert McWaters and the Rev. James Preachers officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Baptist Church cemetery. The body will be placed into the church one hour before service time.

Connie Appleyard Powell of Tuscaloosa died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Dale Medical Center in Ozark. She was 88. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 3 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with the Rev. Jerry Croft officiating.

Hoyt W. (Bill) Raffield Jr. of Enterprise died early Monday morning, March 31, 2003, at Hartford Health Care following a short illness. He was 64. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2 at Searcy Funeral Home Chapel in Enterprise with the Rev. Marcus Ramer officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Clayhatchee. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Searcy Funeral Home Chapel in Enterprise.

Mrs. Vera Mae (Susi) Spadaro of Plaza Drive, Daleville, died Sunday morning, March 30, 2003, at the family residence after an extended illness. She was 74. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 3 at Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Wiregrass Hospice Chaplain Talmadge Butler officiating.

Billie E. Thompson of Dothan died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness. He was 76. Funeral services will be announced by Byrd Funeral Home of Dothan, 334-793-3003.

Carlous Ludene Barfield, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, in Tuscaloosa, following a brief illness. She was 59. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. today at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Van Gauthe officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Byrd Funeral Home directing.

Grace Woodham Clenney, a resident of Southdale Apartments in Abbeville, died early Sunday morning, March 30, 2003, at her home after a short illness. She was 84. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Adams Chapel United Methodist Church, north of Edwin, with the Rev. Woody Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Holman-Abbeville Mortuary directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the services. Mr. Thomas Leroy Cline Sr. of Zebulon Drive in Conover, N.C., passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2003, at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was 65. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel in Newton, N.C. The Revs. Billy Hamlet and Bo Caulder will officiate. James Joseph "Chipper" Janasky, of Westbrook Assisted Living and Retirement Community, died Monday, March 31, 2003, after a sudden illness. He was 57. Graveside services will be a 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, in Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dean Allerheiligen officiating, and Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.

Mr. Johnny Lee Johnson of S. Bay St., Samson, died Sunday morning, March 30, 2003, in Flowers Hospital after a brief illness. She was 89. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today from the chapel of Sorrrells Funeral Home in Geneva with the Revs. Donnie Earles and Dale Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church cemetery at Coffee Springs. Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva, 334-684-9999, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Peggy Capps King, of Louisville Street in Clio, died Sunday, March 30, 2003 at her home. She was 62. Funeral services for Mrs. King will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, from the chapel of Keahey Funeral Home in Clio. Burial will follow in the Sykes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home of Clio directing. The Rev. Tommy Fortune will be officiating the service.

Mr. Johnny L. McAlister of Daleville died March 30, 2003, at his home following a long illness. He was 72. Visitation will be at Holman Funeral Home from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003, with the family receiving friends during this time.
