Mr. Sidney Lamar Branch Sr.of Agutha Drive, Dothan, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at his residence. He was 54. Funeral services are incomplete at this time and will be announced by Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Dothan, 334-793-1117.

Roy (Whittie) Eugene Gosset of Dothan died Saturday, March 8, 2003, at Flowers Hospital. He was 79. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at The First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Mark Berry officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory. Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to The First Church of the Nazarene, 1081 Honeysuckle Road, Dothan, Ala. 36305.

Mr. Eceal Ham of Helen Street, Cowarts, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Flowers Hospital following an extended illness. He was 73. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 13 at Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Cemetery with James Floyd officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 12 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Victory, 363 Victory Circle, Samson, Ala. 36477 or to the Gideons.

Mr. Mun Hwangbo of Daleville died Monday, March 11, 2003, at the Ozark Nursing Facility. He was 65. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise, 334-347-9598.

Ethel Mae Kines of Sanitary Dairy Road, Ashford, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center after an extended illness. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced at a later date along with a complete list of survivors by Varner Memorial Funeral Home of Dothan, 334-671-1455.

Mr. Ronnie Lamar Lashley of Moss Street, Cowarts, died Monday, March 10, 2003, at his residence following a brief illness. He was 51. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 12 at Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Winston officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

George Laster, a former resident of Ozark, died Saturday, March 8, 2003, at Crown Health Care Nursing Facility in Eufaula. He was 89. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12 at Believers In Christ Church on Hull Street in Ozark with Pastor Bishop Kenneth Beckwith officiating. Burial will be at Westside Cemetery.

Patsy R. Nichols of Chancellor, Ala., passed away Monday, March 10, 2003, at Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva. She was 61. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 12 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home Chapel in Geneva with the Rev. Michael German and the Rev. Janet German officiating. Burial will follow at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mattie Norton of Clayton passed Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Washington County Convalescent Center in Chipley, Fla. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13 at Greater Beulah Baptist Church, Dothan, with the Rev. R. Paul Hollman officiating. Burial will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour before service. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 12 at Levite Funeral Home.

Mrs. Glenda Faye Spivey of Clayton died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at her home. She was 49. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 12 at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel in Clio with the Rev. Elbert Ward and the Rev. Ronnie Benefield officiating.

Gerald Walsh of Dothan, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Byrd Funeral Home of Dothan, 334-793-3003.

Beatrice Kirkland Barnes, a former resident of Headland, died Wednesday morning, March 12, 2003, in Cedar Crest Health & Rehabilitation in Montgomery after an extended illness. She was 95. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 14 at Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. James A. Rich officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Baptist Cemetery, near Newville. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the mortuary in Headland. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.

Arnold Phillip "A. P." Fehringer of Ponce De Leon, Fla., died Monday, March 10, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 59. Private services will be held at a later date.

Barbara Catherine Gentle of Ashford died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at her residence. She was 76. Graveside funeral services will be 4 p.m. Thursday, March 13 at Ashford City Cemetery with Sister Brenda Yon and Chaplain Paul Cowley officiating.

Mrs. Annie Mae Hoffman Herring of Irwin Street, Dothan, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at her residence. She was 98. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, March 14 at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Sam Brassell and the Rev. Billy Rich officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 1011 Irwin St., Dothan, Ala.

Mr. Connie Jackson of East Adams Street, Dothan, died at his residence Monday, March 10, 2003. He was 71. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 14 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Ashford with the Rev. Paul Grider officiating. Burial will be at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Ashford. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Horace Williams Mortuary.

Rudolph (Rudy) Thomas Jr. of Green sboro and formerly of Enterprise died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, after a brief illness. He was 49. Funeral arrangements and survivors are incomplete and will be announced later by Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise, 334-347-9598.

Mr. J.T. Bedsole, a resident of Westside Terrace in Dothan and formerly of County Road 49, Slocomb, died Saturday, March 15, 2003 at Westside Terrace after a brief illness. He was 91. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 17 at Malvern Baptist Church with the Rev. Hosea Parker officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb. At all other times the family will be at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, James and Linda Bedsole, County Road # 49, Slocomb. The body will be placed into the church one hour before service time. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Malvern Baptist Church, building fund, P.O. Box 79, Malvern, Ala. 36349

Mr. Lawrence Rudolph Cable of Samson died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Oakview Manor Nursing Home in Ozark after an extended illness. He was 83. Funeral arrangements may be obtained by calling Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, 334-898-7141.

Mr. James D. (Jim) Carter Sr. passed away at his home in Cottonwood Saturday, March 15, 2003, after a lengthy illness. He was 73. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 17 at Cottonwood Baptist Church with the Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cottonwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Don Carter, 1248 Metcalf St., Cottonwood. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Cottonwood Baptist Church.

Albert Dean Crowley Sr., also known to many as "Al" or "Mr. C," of Midland City died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, March 11, 2003. He was 67. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 17 at Parks Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Oliver Allen Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Crowley will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Mrs. Maye S. Doswell of Hartford Health Care and formerly of Samson died Saturday, March 15, 2003. She was 99. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16 at Geneva City Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Thorn officiating. The family requests that flowers be omitted.

Brenda Chandler Johnson of Midland City died Friday evening, March 14, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Hwy. 134, near Napier Field. She was 33. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 17 at Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. T.P. Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Midland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary in Headland. At other times, the family will be at the home of her mother, Jackie Kelly, 115 County Road 545, Headland.

Earnestine Hopkins Johnson, a resident of Westside Terrace, died there Friday, March 14, 2003, following an extended illness. She was 89. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16 at Cedar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Don Creel officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to service time Sunday at Cedar Springs Baptist Church.

Ella J. Lacey, a resident of the Henry County Nursing Home in Abbeville, and a former resident of Headland and Midland City, died early Saturday morning, March 15, 2003, at the nursing some. She was 85. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March at Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Abbeville with the Rev. Matthew Quincey officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time Monday morning. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary in Abbeville. At other times, the family will be at the home of a daughter, Pat Roberts, 119 Knowles St. in Headland. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Ala. 36302.

Mrs. Grace Price , a resident at Ozark Nursing Home, formally of Louisville, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Dale Medical Center. She was 88. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 17 at Pine Level Baptist Church in Louisville with the Rev. Mack A. Wood and the Rev. Jason Nave officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Keahey Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service time at the church Monday.

Mrs. Georgie W. West of North Woodburn Drive, Dothan, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Westside Terrace Nursing Home. She was 92. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, March 17 at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Dothan with the Rev. Henry Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Cottonwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Other than scheduled visitation times, the family will gather at the residence of daughter, June and Larry Austin, 409 Randwick Road, Dothan.

Brian Lee Wilkerson of County Road 83, Midland City, died Friday evening, March 14, 2003, at Flowers Hospital Emergency Room from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Hwy. 134, near Napier Field. He was 28. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 17 at Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. T.P. Martin and the Rev. Willie P. Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery near Echo. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary in Headland. At other times the family will be at the home of his mother, Linda Richards, 5414 County Road 83, Midland City.
