Mary Sue Whitehead died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at her residence. She was 56.Services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Christine Gasset will officiate. Burial will be held at Starling Cemetery in Troy. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home will direct. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home, 774-4551, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Victor Wilson, of 6768 W. Highway 52, Samson, in the Marl Community, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at his residence. He was 78. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at New Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Straton Colonna officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, 898-7141, is in charge of arrangement

Charles Neal Barrett of Lynn Haven, Fla., passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2003, after an extended illness. He was 67. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel in Lynn Haven with the Rev. Jean Spikes of Mobile officiating. Interment will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

James Walter Byrd, a native of Laurel, Miss., passed away at a local hospital Wednesday night, April 23, 2003. He was 72. Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Friday, April 25 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Bristow, the Rev. Tim Willis and the Rev. Orrin Barrett officiating. The family will receive friends following the services Friday night in the chapel. At other times the family will be at the home of Karen and the Rev. Tim Bristow, 3701 Apache Drive, Dothan. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at Mill Creek Church of God in Laurel, Miss. with the Rev. Tim Bristow officiating. Burial will follow at Mill Creek Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery with Jones Funeral Home directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time Sunday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville, Miss. Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Alabama, P.O. Box 12505, Birmingham, Ala. 35202.

Mrs. Patricia M. Gibson of Pinehurst Drive, Enterprise, died Wednesday morning, April 23, 2003, at the family residence after an extended illness. She was 67. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26 at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Mrs. Gibson's son-in-law, Kevin Callaway, giving the eulogy. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Enterprise Public Library, 101 E. Grubbs Ave., Enterprise, Ala. 36330 or American Lung Association, 3125 Independence Drive, Suite 325, Birmingham, Ala. 35209.

Gwendolyn Creel Graham of East Church Street, Headland, died early Thursday morning, April 24, 2003, in the emergency room of a Dothan hospital. She was 62. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26 at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, between Headland and Columbia, with Dr. Richard L. Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Holman-Headland Mortuary in Headland. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, c/o Jerry Knowles, 5373 East County Road 22, Headland, Ala. 36345.

Thelma Hall of Smiths Station died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Ga. She was 84. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. (CST) Saturday, April 26 at Burns Assembly of God Church Cemetery in Slocomb with the Rev. Stephen Etheridge officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. (EST) Friday at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.

Mr. Clayton Hobdy of Plum Street, Ozark, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2003, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. He was 40. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at First Missionary Baptist Church, East Andrews Avenue, Ozark. Burial will be at Ozark City Cemetery with Dr. S.C. Jackson officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at Ozark Memorial Chapel.

Mr. M.C. Hollis Jr. of Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, Fla. He was 85. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 25 at Pittman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sammy Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.

Joy Wynn Mathison of Abbeville died Thursday afternoon, April 24, 2003, in a Eufaula hospital. She was 75. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Holman-Abbeville Mortuary of Abbeville, 334-585-5261.

Tony Bruce Voyles, formerly of Geneva, died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La. He was 43. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 25 at Friendship Baptist Church, State Highway 27 north of Geneva, with the Rev. R.H. Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery.

Ricky R. Ward was born Dec. 12, 1964, in Houston County in Cottonwood, Ala., to the late Chester and Mary Ward. He graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1984. He joined Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He was a very lovable person. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Cottonwood with the Rev. O.W. Waddell, pastor, and the Rev. Jimmy Coachman officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Cottonwood. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at Levite Funeral Home Parlor B. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Mrs. Lula Grace Woodham of Helen Street, Dothan, died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. She was 81. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A full military honors memorial service for former WWII POW Quenton T. Jackson, 82, will be 4 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at Daleville Memorial Gardens, Highway 84, just east of the VFW. All are welcome to attend. Survivors include Marianne Jackson of Daleville; stepsons, Hugh Gatlin of Wetumpka and Charles Gatlin of Tampa, Fla.

Mrs. Della Kitchens Mione of Ozark died Thursday, April 24, 2003, in a Dothan hospital following an extended illness. She was 86. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at Campground Baptist Church with the Rev. Al Sonanstine and the Rev. Harry Circle officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to service time Sunday at Campground Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Campground Baptist Church Building Fund, 3898 East Andrews Ave., Ozark, Ala. 36360.

Mrs. Pearl Willoughby Ragan of Ozark died Friday morning, April 25, 2003, in Dothan following an extended illness. She was 79. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. William Hart and the Rev. Isom Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Holman Funeral Home, 995 South Union Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Tommy Walker of South Park Avenue, Dothan, died late Thursday night, April 24, 2003, in the emergency room of a Dothan hospital. He was 61. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Riley Enfinger officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in the Bertha community of Dale County. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary in Headland.

Mrs. Lula Grace Woodham of Helen Street, Dothan, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. She was 81. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Baxter and the Rev. John Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Johnny Baxley of Marianna died early Friday morning, April 25, 2003, at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, Fla. He was 65. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 28 at New Salem Baptist Church on Kynesville Highway with Pastors Damon Fountain and Donnie Hussey officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Levite Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Cathryn Kelly Johnson of Prattville, formerly of Dothan, died Friday, April 25, 2003, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. She was 77. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 28 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the residence of Pete Kelly, 584 Blackman Road, Dothan.
