Mrs. Doris Elaine Baker, of Jimmie Lane in Dothan, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Arrangements and a list of survivors will be announced later by Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home, 334-792-4194.

Mr. John Willis Bass a resident of South Appletree Street, Dothan, died Sunday May 11, 2003, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an extended illness. He was 83. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 14, 2003, at the Ward Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Steve Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home directing. Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 334-792-4194, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lucille Boyette, a resident at Hartford Healthcare, died Sunday, May 11, 2003. She was 90. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home directing. Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home, 334-792-4194, is in charge of arrangements.

Sheldon Noyes "Butch" Carroll, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 75. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Albert J. Rowell, United Methodist Minister of Panama City, Florida, officiating. Burial will be held 11 a.m. EST Thursday, May 15, 2003, in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixon, Tennessee, with Byrd Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the International Rett Syndrome Association, 9121 Piscataway Road, Suite 2-B, Clinton, Md., 20735. Byrd Funeral Home, 334-793-3003, is in charge of arrangements.

Millie Maxine Pert Crutchfield of Geneva went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2003. She passed away at Mariner Health of Bonifay, Fla., after an extended illness. She was 90 years old. Visitation will be from 7 until 9 p.m. at Bottoms Garden Chapel in Geneva. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Devco Baptist Church in Geneva with the Revs. Talmadge Butler and Ronnie Baine officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Edith Wymes Daniels departed from this life on May 9, 2003 at the home of her son. She was 83. The funeral service will be Thursday, May 15, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Springhill Baptist Church, Columbia, Ala., with Rev. Howard Valentine officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery in Columbia, Ala., with Levite Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be today, May 14, 2003, from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home in parlor B. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service. Levite Funeral Home, 334-794-5036, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lubert Hughes of W. Palafox Street, Samson, died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at his residence in Samson. He was 78. Mr. Hughes was cremated. Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva will announce a memorial service later. Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva, 334-684-9999, is in charge of arrangements.

Dustin Robert Kanis of Hartford passed away May 11, 2003 in Hartford. He was 13. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Hartford Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Cox officiating, with Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Michigan. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2003, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home of Hartford, 334-588-3250, is in charge of arrangements.

Samuel H. "Sam" King, a Dothan resident, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at Mariner Health in Bonifay, Fla. He was 61 years of age. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, 334-702-1712.

Mrs. Eloise Kirkland, a resident of Dothan, passed May 12, 2003, in Montgomery. Funeral services are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Unity Funeral Home, 334-792-5169.

Mrs. Mary Ellen Moore of Graceville died Monday, May 12, 2003, at her residence following an extended illness. She was 65. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2003, at Noma Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Cone and Rev. Scott Wyatt officiating. Burial will be follow in Brown-Bush-Tindel Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Flowers will be accepted or those wishing may make memorials to Noma Baptist Church, P.O. Box 34, Noma, Florida 32452 or Covenant Hospice, 4349 Lafayette St., Bldg. 2, Marianna, Fla. 32446. James & Lipford Funeral Home, 850-263-3238, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Millard C. Spivey of Skipperville died at his home Sunday, May 11, 2003, following a brief illness. He was 75. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Asbury United Methodist Church, Dale County, Alabama, with the Reverend Dave Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time on Wednesday. Ralph W. Stokes of Hartford died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at Hartford Health Care in Hartford. He was 86. Graveside Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Rev. Wendell Stokes officiating. Burial will follow with Searcy Funeral Home directing. The retired U.S. Army Colonel George G. Tillery of Navarre, Fla., died Tuesday, May 13, 2003 in Pensacola, FL. He was 83. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2003, in the Chapel of Wings at Fort Rucker with Chaplain Marvin Vickers officiating and Searcy Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time, Saturday, May 17, 2003, at the Chapel of Wings, Fort Rucker. Barbara Joyce Watford, a resident of Dothan, died early Monday morning, May 12, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 58. Mr. Donald Ray Wilson, of Goose Hollow Road, Geneva, died Monday, May 5, 2003, from injuries sustained in an airplane accident on John's Mountain near Calhoun, (Gordon County) Ga. He was 57. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003, from the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Geneva with Rev. Farrell Kyser and Rev. Tracy Hobbs officiating. George Lamar Beck was born to Grover Richard and Eliza Anne Ray Beck on January 15, 1918. He resided on the land settled by his great-grandfather, William Warren Beck. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Geneva, on Tuesday, May 13, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First Baptist Church Benevolent Fund or the City of Geneva Pride Committee of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce.

Cova Rea Nevitt Davis, a resident of McDonald, N.C., and formerly of Dothan, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at St. Eugene Medical Center in Dillon, South Carolina. She was 75. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at Memory Hill Cemetery with Pastor Paul Estes officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends today following the graveside services.

Mr. Wilton Dyck, a resident of Tuscaloosa, and formerly of Ozark, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, in the Elmore Community Hospital in Wetumpka. He was 50. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at 1 p.m. in the Greater Sardis Missionary Baptist Church on Reynolds Street in Ozark with the pastor, the Rev. S.C. Hudson, officiating. Mr. Orsay Everette of Hilton, Ga., passed Wednesday, May 7, 2003. He was 92. The funeral was held Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Hilton, Ga., at 1 p.m. EST. The Rev. John H. Davis officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Unity Funeral Home directed.

Billy Joe Franklin of Geneva passed away Sunday, May 11, 2003, at his home in Geneva. He was 41.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at 11 a.m. in Bottoms Garden Chapel in Geneva with the Rev. James Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Wentersville Cemetery in Bonifay, Fla., with Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home of Geneva directing. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. in Bottoms Garden Chapel.

Funeral services for Mr. Douglas Allen Gothard of Clayton were held Monday, May 12, 2003, at 3 p.m. from the Rocky Mount Methodist Church, Bakerhill, Ala. He was 61. The Rev. Roy Rogers officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery with Kent Funeral Home of Clayton directing.
