Mrs. Nora K. Butler of Dothan died Monday, May 19, 2003, at her residence. She was 94. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Dothan with the Rev. Lloyd S. Dillard, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Dothan. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at Levite Funeral Home in parlor B. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Infant Shelby Rae Cox of Goshen died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Edge Regional Medical Center in Troy. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 23 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Minister John Hackett officiating. Survivors include her parents, Brandy and Nikole Cox of Goshen; grandparents, Ricky and Susan Register of Meeksville, Billy and Sharon Cox of Ozark; uncles and aunts, Ryon and Christy Register of Montgomery, Leanne and Howard Dickey Jr. of Springhill, Clay Register of Meeksville; cousins, Will Register and Emma Dickey; great-grandparents, Russell and Lucille Register of Meeksville, Louise Cox of Elba, Fannie Parker of Albany, Ga.

Beulah Eugenia Earnest of Wesley Manor died there Tuesday, May 20, 2003. She was 90. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Bonifay, Fla., with the Rev. Ralph Sigler officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon to service time Saturday at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ethel Beatrice Gilley of Dothan died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, Fla., after an extended illness. She was 90. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24 at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Dothan with the Rev. Vernon Peverill officiating. Burial will follow at Tabernacle Methodist Church Cemetery near Hartford. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tabernacle Methodist Cemetery Fund, Attn. Edith Hicks, 1504 Buena Vista Drive, Dothan, Ala. 36303.

Judy Horsley Landrum of Clayhatchee died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at her home in Clayhatchee. She was 46. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 23 at Searcy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Beasley, the Rev. Michael Turner and the Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.

Ola Brown Lunsford, a resident of Wesley Manor, died May 21, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 97. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Scarbrough officiating. Burial will follow at Malvern Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Martha Jean Mathis Mitchell of Hundley Road, Slocomb, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was 57. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 23 at Westgate Church of Christ with Minister Bryan Dunaway officiating. Burial will follow at Christian Home Church of Christ Cemetery. Mrs. Mitchell will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time today. Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Agape, Wiregrass Office, P.O. Box 311541, Enterprise, Ala. 36331.

Robert Earl Newby of Dothan departed this life Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. He was 51. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at Sweet Bethel Baptist Church in Kinsey with the Rev. Walter H. Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Garden Memory Cemetery in Dothan. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at Levite Funeral Home in Parlor A. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Mrs. Lizzie Mae Rexford of Vera Beach, Fla., and formerly of Geneva, died Monday, May 19, 2003, in Vero Beach after an extended illness. She was 77. Funeral arrangements may be obtained by calling Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, 334-684-2600.

Mary Ellen Smith of Dothan died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Extendicare Hospice Service Facility after an extended illness. She was 82. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Hospice Chaplain Paul Cowley officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. At other times, they will be at the home of her daughter in Dothan.

Mr. Daniel Milton "Biscuit" Starling of Dothan passed Monday in a local hospital. He was 55. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24 at Alabama Avenue Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. W.C. Snell officiating. Burial will follow at City of Dothan. Mr. Starling will be placed in the church one hour prior to service. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at Allen Funeral Home.

Ted Weaver of Enterprise died Tuesday, May 20, 2003. He was 54. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 23 at Meadowlawn Cemetery. Burial will follow.

Mrs. Netta Bell Williams of Malone died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at Courtyard at Millpond in Marianna, Fla. She was 87. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at Antioch Assembly of God Church in Grangerburg with the Revs. Stephen Peacock and Dorman Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. . Friday at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Assembly of God for the cemetery.

Melissa Smith Castaneda, a resident of Abbeville, died early Sunday morning, May 18, 2003, at her residence. She was 29. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary chapel with Mr. Olin Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. At other times, the family will be the home of her mother, Kay Rogers, 1381 County Road 84, Abbeville. Mrs. Laura Belle Drinkwater, a resident of Pansey, Ala., died at her residence Saturday, May 17, 2003, following an extended illness. Ashley Glenn Hubbard died Sunday morning, May 18, 2003, from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. He was 19. Bruce Lingo of Dunn Road died Saturday, May 17, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 39. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. William Alan Smith of Gordon, Ala., died Friday, May 16, 2003, from a boating accident. He was 42. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2003, in the chapel of Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Dothan with the Rev. Curtis Grant officiating. Burial will follow at the First Baptist Church cemetery in Bascom, Fla. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Monday prior to the service. At all other times the family will be at the family residence, 279 Leslie St., Gordon, Ala. Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Dothan, 334-793-1117, is in charge of arrangements.

Thelma "Woodie" Woodall, a resident of Extendicare Nursing Home, died Saturday, May 17, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center after an extended illness. She was 85. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2003, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wallace Russell officiating. Deacon L.A. Bennett of Midland City passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at Flowers Hospital. He was 73. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church in Midland City with Pastor Mark E. Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Mrs. Rubye Helen Brunson of Neal Metcalf Road, Enterprise, died Thursday morning, May 15, 2003, at the family residence after an extended illness. She was 82. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17 at Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Frank Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Henry J. Galloway of East State Highway 52, Hartford (Antioch Baptist Church Community), died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva after a brief illness. He was 82. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Moody Faulk and the Rev. Herb Albertson officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time.

Richard Lewis of Brookside Drive, Headland, died unexpectedly Monday, May 12, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 66. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Newville with Pastor Eddie Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Mr. Terrell McLendon of the Carolina Community died Thursday, May 15, 2003, at Andalusia Hospital. He was 67. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, May 18 at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Caroline Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gertrude P. Schmidt of Darlington, Fla., died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva following a brief illness. She was 91. Funeral arrangements may be obtained by calling Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, 334-684-2600.

Mr. Carl William (Tommy) Thompson of Samson died Thursday, May 15, 2003, at the family residence after a brief illness. He was 72. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Pittman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billie Williams officiating. Burial will follow at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Wiregrass Hospice of New Home Baptist Church, 5384 West County Highway 16, Samson, Ala. 36477.
