Andrew Lee Bryan Jr. of County Road 15 (Douglas Road), Headland, died early Tuesday morning, June 10, 2003, as a result of injuries sustained in a two vehicle accident which occurred on Alabama Highway 134, between Headland and Columbia. He was 17. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 12 at New Freedom Church in Webb with the Rev. and Mrs. Larry Adams, the Rev. Clint Adams and the Rev. Andy Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at Shorterville Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to New Freedom Children's Educational Building Fund, P.O. Box 119, Webb, Ala. 36376.

Joyce Harper Butler of Dothan and a former resident of Meridian, Miss., died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Flowers Hospital. She was 79. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 12 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Quitman, Miss., with the Rev. Andy Cotton officiating.

Vera Mae Clayton of Ashford went home to be with the Lord Monday night, June 9, 2003, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, following an extended illness. She was 82. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12 at Enterprise Baptist Church, Ashford, with Dr. David Baker and the Rev. Wallace Russell officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Ala. 36302.

Mrs. Gay Faulkner Edwards age 67 of Daleville died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Hartford Health Care in Hartford after an extended illness. She was 67. Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced by Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark, 334-774-4551.

Mrs. Mary Noble Glisson, formerly of Candlewood Drive, Dothan, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Crowne Health Center of Eufaula. She was 78. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, June 13 at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Dothan with the Rev. Lee Singley officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Edward L. Granger of Junaluska Avenue, Dothan, died Monday, June 9, 2003. He was 81. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 12 at Calvary Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Van Gauthe of Calvary Baptist Church of Dothan and Dr. Cecil Sanders of First Baptist Church of Headland, officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Ala. 36302.

Mr. Charles Leroy Jordan of Andalusia died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at his residence. He was 68. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Keahey Funeral Home of Andalusia, 334-222-8440.

Mr. Edgar Lane of Columbia passes away Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. He was 81. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Unity Funeral Home of Dothan, 334-792-5169.

Ronald C. Peters of Dothan died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at his home. He was 64. According to Mr. Peters' wishes, he will be cremated and no public services are to be held.

Dawson Ryan Richardson, infant son of Rick and Tracy Richardson, of Lynn Haven, Fla., passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003, in Biloxi, Miss. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 13 at Emmanuel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Danny Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Eunola Cemetery in Geneva. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. Walter William VanLandingham of Geneva died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Wiregrass Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 73. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, 334-684-2600.

Marvin Walden died Tuesday, June 10, 2003. He was 85. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 13 at Leak-Memory Chapel with Dr. Keith Warden officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Green wood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Angel Marie Whitley, 21-month-old daughter of Glen and Gale Whitley of Enterprise, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Birmingham hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise, 334-347-9598.

Mrs. Cloudy Wymes of Wymes Road, Columbia, died Monday, June 9, 2003, at her residence. She was 85. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14 at Springhill Baptist Church in Columbia with the Rev. S.C. Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Levite Funeral Home in Parlor B. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Floyd Erwin Averill of Dothan died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Flowers Hospital. He was 72. According to Mr. Averill's wishes, he will be cremated and no public services are to be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society, 2345 W. Main St., Suite 3, Dothan, Ala. 36301 or Wiregrass Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave., Dothan, Ala. 36303.

Mr. Leonard R. Bast of Daleville died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Flowers Hospital after an extended illness. He was 76. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at Holman Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with the Rev. Carl Tilley officiating. Interment will follow at Daleville Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main St., Suite 3, Dothan, Ala. 36301.

Mrs. Bonnie Leigh Chesser of Andalusia died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Andalusia Hospital. She was 95. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 22 at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Keahey Funeral Home of Andalusia.

Mr. Torrance Terrell Franklin "Tennchie" of Old Town Road, Midland City, passed away Monday, June 16, 2003.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at Dothan Community Church, 4390 Westgate Parkway, Dothan, with Dr. W. Charles Lewis officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church on hour prior to services. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Unity Funeral Home.

Jerry Hall Jr. of Thomasville, Ga., and formerly of Dothan, died suddenly Tuesday, June 17, 2003, in Miami, Fla. He was 35. Mr. Hall was a graduate of Coffee Springs High School, Class of 1987. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. (EST) Saturday, June 21 at Clark Funeral Home in Cairo, Ga., with Pastor Johnny Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Green wood Cemetery in Cairo, Ga., with Clark Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Col. (retired) H.B. Hatcher of Dothan died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at his home. He was 85. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 20 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Christy officiating. Burial with full Masonic and military honors will follow at Brinson Cemetery in Brinson, Ga. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Box 2127, Dothan, Ala. 36302, the American Cancer Society, 2246 Montgomery Highway, Suite 3, Dothan, Ala. 36303, or The Shriner's Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 31356, Tampa, Fla. 33631-3356.

Morivet Knight of West Newton Street, Dothan, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center after an extended illness. He was 60. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Headland with Chaplain Lt. Col. Kenneth Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 20, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Varner Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Abel J. Lopez of Dothan and a former resident of Port Jervis, N.Y., died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Flowers Hospital. He was 68. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, June 20 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Clifford C. McIntyre of Dothan and formerly of Montgomery, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 85. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at First United Methodist Church in Millbrook with the Rev. Garner Clark officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church Saturday. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

Mr. John R.Meints of Jerome Court, Dothan, died Monday morning, June 16, 2003, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was 76. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 23 at Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel of Slocomb with the Rev. John Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. At all other times, the family will be at the residence in Dothan.

Surrounded by his loving family, Walter Cona Morris, of North Iroquois Drive, Dothan, passed away Wednesday morning, June 18, 2003, at Flowers Hospital. He was 86. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 20 at First United Methodist Church with Dr. R. Lawson Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. Mr. Morris will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time. The family will be at 603 N. Iroquois Ave. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions in Mr. Morris's name may be made to First United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 1380 W. Main St., Dothan, Ala. 36303.
