Lois King Gilley was born in Guntersville, Al in Marshall County, January 31, 1949; the daughter of William A. King and Marzell Thomas King. She was a Life Long Resident of Guntersville. Mrs. Gilley served for many years as a Treatment Aide at Cedar Lodge, here in Guntersville.
Lois is survived by her Husband: Wayne Gillley of Guntersville; Son: Bill Gilley of Chelsea, Al; Brother: Billy King of Tuscumbia; and Sister: Sandra Blankenship and her husband, Wayne, of Pell City, Al. Lois was preceded in death by her parents: William and Marzell King.

Eddleman, Lauren - Miss Lauren Eddleman, age 17 of Grant, died Sunday, February 3, 2008 from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Lauren's visitation will be Tuesday, February 5, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Grant First Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, at the Grant First Baptist Church. The service conducted by Bro. Tim Verhine will begin at 2:00 p.m. Inerment in Freehome Cemetery will follow the service. Grant Memorial Chapel directing.
Lauren is survived by her parents, Rod (Janice) Eddleman of Grant and Alisha (Harold) Fennimore of Grant; brothers, Riley Eddleman, Jacob Fennimore; a sister, Grace Fennimore; grandparents, Jimmy (Deboray) McAllister of Athens and Sandra (Jim) Riggs of Scottsboro; uncles Patrick (Rhonda) McAllister and Jerry Bevel; and, aunts Susan and Nellie Eddleman.
The family requests donations to the DAR High School Lauren Nichole Eddleman Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Bartlett, Frances Lucille - Mrs. Frances Lucille Bartlett of Grant passed away Tuesday, January 29, at the Highland Medical Center in Scottsboro. Mrs. Bartlett was 79 years of age. A Memorial Service was held at the Grant Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 30, at 7:00 p.m. with Bro. Anthony Barnes officiating.
Mrs. Bartlett was survived by a son, Alan (Robin) Bartlett of Grant, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a sister, Marlene Denny of Grant. Two sons, Joseph Lee Bartlett and Thomas Daniel Jones, preceded Mrs. Bartlett in death.

Mrs. Lettie Lee (Tookie) Adkison - passed away at Sheperd's Cove Hospice on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the age of 65. She is Survived by her Husband: Wayne Adkison of Vestavia Hills, Al, Son: Daniel Adkison (Heather) of Guntersville, 2 Daughters: Mary Adkison Burton (Brad) and Kate Adkison Ardoin (Chad), 2 Sisters: Dr. Lucille Dekle Brawn of FL and Florrie Dekle Grizzard of Maine and 5 Grandchildren: Savannah Lee Burton, Anna Kate Yancy, Ansley Grace Ardoin, Mary Grace Adkison, and Cole Ingram Adkison.
Visitation will be held at Guntersville Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 4pm until 6pm with a Memorial Service following at 6pm. Rev. Robin Scott will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donation are to be made to Hospice of Marshall Co. or St. Jude's Children Hospital.

Mrs. Carol Joy Huggins - passed away at her residence on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the age of 76. She is survived by 2 Brothers: Harold Huggins of Guntersville and Donnie (Hope) Huggins Jr. of Arab and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Guntersville Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 19, 2008 from 6pm until 8pm. The Funeral arrangements is a Graveside Service at the Warrenton Cemetery on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 1pm followed with burial their after. Bro. Galeon Campbell will be officiating.

James Edward (Ed) Davis - Age 78 of Sharon Circle, Albertville, died Monday, June 9, 2008 in St. Vincents Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Service for Mr. Davis was conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Carr's Chapel-in-the-Pines with Bro. Bill Murry officiating, Carr Funeral Home Directing. Visitation for Mr. Davis was Wednesday evening, June 11, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Pallbearers were Matt Holloway, Eddie White, Jerry King, LaMont Lindsey, Richard Lewis, and Ed Cornelius.
Honorary Pallbearers were Michael LeMaster and Terry Childress.
Ed Davis was born in Marshall County, Alabama, December 15, 1929; the Son of Robert Derrick and Gertrude Davis. He spent his career as a commercial truck driver.
Ed is survived by 5 Sons: Ricky Davis of Albertville, Lanny Davis of Albertville, Junior Davis of Guntersville, Bryon Young of Morgan City, and Kenny Edwards of Georgia; 5 Daighters: Dinah LeCroy of Guntersville, Charlotte LeMaster of Albertville, Peggy Phillips of Grant, Kathy Davis of Grant, and Debbie Young of Arab; 2 Step-Daughtters: Wanda Carroll of Tennessee and Carol Murry of Tennessee; a Special Friend: Glennette Madden of Guntersville; 22 Grandchildren and 24 Great-Grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his Wife: Wilma Mae Stapler Davis and a Daughter: Patricia Davis.

Service for Ms. Watkins was conducted at 5 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Carr's Chapel-in-the-Pines, with Rev. Jr. Plunkett officiating, Carr Funeral Home Directing. Visitation for Ms. Watkins was Wednesday Evening, June 11, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Pallbearers were B. J. Watkins, Jacob Watkins, Bruce Hawkins, Tommy Mason, Marty Bearden, Robert Fortenberry, and Trey Watkins.
Martha Carolyn Watkins was born in Tennessee, June 30, 1932; the Daughter of Floyd H. Burnett and Redella Steele Burnett. She spent her life as a homemaker and stay-home Mom.

Interment will be in the New Prospect Cemetery in Swearengin. Active Pallbearers are Ricky Byrum, Scott Dean, Richie Cothren, Sherman Lackey, Winfred Lackey and Victor Wayne Walls. Survivors: Mr. Walls is survived by four daughters; Joan McCanless, Julia Darmer, Tersa James and Alicia Ikard; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Joe Lackey; and four brothers, Wheeler, Earl, Robert and Kenny Walls.

Visitation for Mrs. Pickett was from 1-2 pm on Sunday, September 1, 2008 at Carr Funeral Home.
Joyce Faye Pickett was born in the State of Tennessee, July 1, 1948; the Daughter of Herbert Cambron and Vinnie Bridges Cambron. She spent her life as a Mother, Grandmother, and Homemaker in her own home.
Joyce is survived by: her Husband James (Jim) Pickett of Arab; her Mother: Vinnie Cambron of Arab; two Sons: William Edward (Billy) Pickett and Heith Pickett, both of Arab; one Daughter: Heather Pickett of Arab; 3 Grandchildren: Jenifer Stanley, Justin Parsons, and R. K. Pickett; and one Great-Grandson: Noah Hadden.

Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 from 6 pm to 9 pm at Guntersville Memorial chapel and the Funeral arrangements are Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 at 4pm at the Guntersville Church of Christ with James Dudley and Phillip Bradley officiating. Burial will be held at the Crestview Cemetery following the funeral service.
Pallbearers include Lloyd Darnell, Frank Wood, John Wright, Jim Brazelton, Ted Looney, and Bart Chandler.

Dimple Hunkapiller was born in Marshall County, Alabama, April 10, 1916; the Daughter of William Jefferson Collins and Cora Lee Bright. She spent her life as a homemaker.
Dimple is survived by 2 Sons: Beaul Hunkapiller and his Wife: Colleen of Guntersville and Alton Hunkapiller and his Wife: Rachel of Lineville; 2 Daughters: Wanda Wheeler of Chalkville and Juletta Settle and her Husband: Gary of Huntsville; 12 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren.
Dimple was preceded in death by her Husband: Olen B.
