Alex Harrison Crotwell

TUSCALOOSA - Alex Harrison Crotwell, 24, 3630 55th St. E., died Aug. 13, 2000. Services will be at Memory Chapel today at 11 a.m. with Dr. Charlie Durham officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Bessemer, Ala., at 1 p.m. Memory Chapel Funeral Home is directing.

Alex was a devoted son of Bill and Lynette Crotwell. A loving brother to his sister, Ashley Crotwell, and his twin brother, William Alan Crotwell and the grandson of Jewell Crotwell and Flossie Peeks. He is also survived by a close extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Alex graduated from the University of Alabama, December 1998, with a BS in Civil Engineering maintaining a high GPA consistently making the President's and Dean's list. He led a full life professionally as an engineer, academically at the university and spiritually as a member of First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa. As a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity he served as Rush Chairman, Steward and Historian. An avid athlete, Alex spent five years on the University of Alabama Soccer team, serving as team captain in 1998. He also worked to gain practical experience while in school, taking positions with Apodaco Engineering as a draftsman during summers and with Tuscaloosa Acoustical Systems in construction August through December 1997. Alex's entrepreneurial spirit and hard work was evidenced through his work with his brother, Alan, as an independent subcontractor.

After college graduation, Alex moved to Birmingham, Ala., to pursue a career in Civil Engineering with the Howell Group, Inc. where he found mentors and close friends whose kindness and support will always be remembered. In Birmingham, he played on an indoor soccer team and made many good friends at Soccer Blast. He had recently moved home to Tuscaloosa to work with Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc. and to soon begin MBA courses.

Pallbearers will be John Pfaudler, Willie Wareham, John Day, Matt McNeese, Tom Borton, Tim Braswell, Clint Brown, Cooper Johnson, Dan Webber and Chris Isbell.

Honorary pallbearers are Aaron Vold, Herschel Hamner, Sean Monte, Sean Shinick and all his Pi Kappa Phi fraternity brothers.

Alex was a special person and he touched the lives of all his family and friends. He is loved and missed by all who knew him and his spirit will live in us forever.

James Howard Darden

HUNTSVILLE - James Howard Darden, 69, died Aug. 14, 2000, at a local hospital. Services will be at Laughlin Chapel on Aug. 17, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. William Cowley and Bob Mayberry officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill, Inc. Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Darden was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Edwards Darden.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from NASA, a past Boy Scout leader and past elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include his wife, Dean Darden of Huntsville; two sons, James Howard Darden II of Pelham, Ala. and John Michael Darden of Huntsville; one daughter, Kathy Luttrell of Huntsville; one sister, Dorothy Murphree of Daphne, Ala.; six grandchildren.

Visitation is tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Monte Sano Baptist Church.

Markiesha Wilder Dawson

TUSCALOOSA - Infant, Markiesha Wilder Dawson, two weeks and three days, 3311 36th St. Lot # 4, died Aug. 15, 2000, at Children's Hospital in Birmingham. Wills' Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Lillie Mae Pelt-Edward

MOBILE - Lillie Mae Pelt-Edward, 43, formerly of Boligee, died Aug. 10, 2000, at USA Medical Center in Mobile, Ala. Services will be at Cannon Shore P.B. Church in Boligee on Aug. 17, at noon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Gandy Funeral Home of Eutaw is directing.

Donna Morgan Green

COKER - Donna Morgan Green , 37, 15302 Hillview Road, died Aug. 15, 2000, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Sunset Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Iris Lovett Kemp

HARTFORD, CONN. - Ms. Iris Lovett Kemp, 41, died Aug. 15, 2000. Wills' Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Geraldine P. McGee

GORDO - Geraldine P. McGee, 71, 1085 County Road 16, died Aug. 14, 2000, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel on Aug. 17, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Cotton Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery. Visitation is tonight from 6-8 at the funeral home. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform is directing.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene D. McGee, Gordo, Ala.; two sons, Dudley E. McGee and wife, Lottie, Gordo, Ala., and Mike McGee and wife, Sam, Gordo, Ala.; a sister, Frances Kilburn, Athens, Ala.; a brother, Victor Pate, Northport, Ala.; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. McGee was a Jehovah's Witness, a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Pallbearers will be Troy McGee, Albert McGee Jr., Larry McGee, Berry McGee, Bill Cooper and James Pate.

Marion Janeice Mullianx

HUNTSVILLE - Marion Janeice Mullianx, 66, 13910 Creely Dr. S.W., died Aug. 14, 2000, at her residence. Services will be at Magnolia Chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home is directing.

Mary Virginia McCafferty Stephens

REFORM - Mary Virginia McCafferty Stephens, 88, 441 New Providence Road, died Aug. 12, 2000, at her daughter's home. Services were at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel Aug. 14, at 3 p.m. The Rev. James Posey and the Rev. Dan Turman officiated. Burial followed in Magnolia Memorial Gardens in Aliceville. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Vernon Stephens; a son, Charles Virgil Stephens; a grandson, Brandt Stephens.

Survivors include three daughters, Pat Bain, Reform, Ala., Allene Clemmons, Reform, Ala. and Kate Stephens, Scottsboro, Ala.; a son, Henry Stephens and wife, Linda, Coker, Ala.; a sister, Annie Jones, Northport, Ala.; a brother, Robert McCafferty and wife, Doris, Aliceville, Ala.; 11 grandchildren, Charlene Moorehead (Allen), Michele Snyder (Jeff), Trina Lambert (George), Chuck Ryland, Wayne Marlowe (Carol), Aubrey Marlowe, Kenny Marlowe (Rita), Deedera Rhodes, Gwen Jones, Jay Bain and Hank Stephens (Dana); 27 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren, a special niece, Diane Findley and numerous other nieces and nephews and friends that she loved.

Mrs. Stephens was a Christian and lifelong member of Garden Baptist Church of Aliceville. She was retired from Huyck Felt in Aliceville and also worked at the Aliceville Cotton Mill for may years. She was a wonderfully devoted mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Pallbearers will be Jay Bain, Allen Marlowe, Joseph Marlowe, Kenny Marlowe, Stephen Moorehead, Chuck Ryland and Hank Stephens.

Honorary pallbearers are Aubrey Marlowe, Wayne Marlowe, Allen Moorehead, Jeff Snyder, Dr. Lee Richardson, Dr. John Mantle, Nurses and Staff of Pickens County Home Health Care and many friends whom she loved so dearly throughout her life.

Levert Banks

WOODSTOCK - Levert "Sonny" Banks, 76, of 10884 Mt. Moriah Road, died Sept. 6, 2000, at his residence. Services are Sept. 23 at 1 p.m. at Mount Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Visitation is all day Friday and again one hour prior to the service. Druid Funeral Service is directing.

Euncie Junkin Bobo

GORDO - Eunice Junkin Bobo, 78, of 463 Clear Creek Road, died Sept. 19, 2000, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eugene Junkin and the Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation is 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Randall Bobo.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin L. Bobo, Gordo; two sons, Gene Bobo and Lewis Bobo, both of Gordo; two sisters, Bernice Connell and Faye Connell, both of Gordo; one brother, Lee Junkin, Gordo; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bobo was born in Gordo to George and Giller Junkin. She was a homemaker and a well-known member of the Gordo and Fairview Communities.

Honorary pallbearers are friends of Fairview Community.

Frances McCracken Cannon

TUSCALOOSA - Frances McCracken Cannon, 84, of 1517 7th St., died Sept. 19, 2000, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services are today at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. S.J. McCracken Jr., the Rev. Scott Livingston and the Rev. Bruce Chesser will officiate. Heritage Chapel Funeral Home is directing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Compton and Effie McCracken, and her husband, Pugh Cannon.

Survivors include brother, Walter McCracken and wife Flora, of Tuscaloosa; niece and nephews, Kenneth McCracken, of Meridian, Miss., Cindy Wagner, of Tuscaloosa, Karen Dawsey, of Ft. Walton, Fla., and Neal McCracken, of Montgomery; and great-nieces and nephews.

Frances Cannon was a dedicated employee of Gulf States Paper Corporation. She retired in 1985 after 43 years of service.

Pallbearers are Michael Wagner, Ken McCracken, Matt Wagner, Martin Wagner, Zack Dawsey, Compton McCracken, David Mote and Tommy Wagner.

Honorary pallbearers are employees of Gulf States Paper Corp., Carolyn McKanstry and employees of Heritage Health Care Center and Seventh Street neighbors.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Hospice of West Alabama or the American Cancer Society.

Mary Anne Dill

ETHELSVILLE - Mary Anne Dill, 70, of Route 1, died Sept. 20, 2000, at Glen Haven Nursing Home. Arrangements will be announced later by Skelton Funeral Home of Reform.
