Max Scott Wilson

NORTHPORT - Max Scott Wilson, age 36, of 4406 Revere Way, died April 19, 2002, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Valley View Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by mother, Martha Lou Wilson and grandparents, A. L. and Zora Belle Sherrill.

Survivors include his wife, Sheri Brasher Wilson; daughters, Alexandria Lee "Allie" Wilson and Kelsi Louise Wilson; step-son, Jeremy Michael Dismukes; brothers, Jeff (Kathy) Wilson, and John (Lynn) Wilson; father, Max C. Wilson; grandparents, W. W. and Ouida Wilson; four nephews and one niece.

He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army, an Eagle Scout in Troop 10, and a member of Valley View Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be J. R. Stacey, Tim Ingram, Tim Taylor, Lee Hannah, Dr. Guy May, Dr. David Fernandez, Doug Duke, Brad Nail, Ian Wilson and Alfred Dauser.

Honorary pallbearers are John Buckentein, West End Christian School Class of 1984, Ray Hubbard Bible Study Class and nurses on 1st Floor DCH ICU.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Valley View Baptist Building Fund or the American Cancer Society of Alabama.

Juanita Bailey

TUSCALOOSA - Juanita Bailey, age 45, died April 4, 2002, at her residence. Services will be 1 p.m. today, Chapel of Wills' Funeral Service with Rev. Joe C. Wills officiating. Burial will follow in West Highland Memorial Gardens with Wills' Funeral Service directing.

Judy Kay Beasley

NORTHPORT - Judy Kay Beasley, age 48, of 3210 34th Avenue, died April 12, 2002, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, Chapel of Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by father, Paul Lanier Jones.

Survivors include her husband, Toby Beasley, Northport; daughter, Tracie Beasley Turner, Tuscaloosa; son, Michael Lance Beasley, Coker; sister, Diane Johnson, Tuscaloosa and Charlotte Watson, Foster s; brother, Johnny Jones, Akron; mother, Dorothy Stafford, step-father, Charles Stafford, Northport.

Pallbearers will be Dale Johnson, Jim Watson, Billy Johnson, Derek Colburn, Todd Colburn, Tony Beasley, Ronald Binion and Cody Binion.

Honorary pallbearers are Tuscaloosa County Board of Education Transportation Dept. employees.

Theo Frances Cunningham

TUSCALOOSA - Theo Frances Cunningham, age 93, died April 11, 2002, at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Chapel of Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home directing. Visitation is tonight from 7-9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cunningham was born on April 10, 1909 and went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2002. She was a lady with a great legacy. She is survived by 12 children; five boys and seven girls; sons, Perry Cunningham, Jr., Rev. Frank Cunningham, Calvin Cunningham, of Tuscaloosa, Shamblin Cunningham of Bessemer, Rev. Vaughn Cunningham of Wahaha, Fla.; daughters, Christine Sullivan, Tuscaloosa, Ruth McHarrey, Bessemer, Janice Cunningham, Clanton, Betty Kent, Teresa Boyd and Bevaline Booth all of Northport; brother, Freeman Smalley of Holt. She had 51 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews which she loved and they loved in return.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Douglas and Myrtie Smalley; husband, Rev. Perry Cunningham, Sr.,; sister, Ms. Myrtle Porter; brothers, Doc, Clyde and Buary Smalley; one grandson, Dallas Moreland and one granddaughter, Melissa Ledlow.

Pallbearers will be Allen Cunningham, Oviatt Cunningham, Larry Sullivan, Scotty Booth, Skipper Booth, David Cunningham, Roger Ledlow and Tony Cunningham.

Honorary pallbearers are Staff of Forest Manor and Park Manor Nursing Homes, Larry Sexton, Nickki Strickland, Northport Church of God, Circlewood Baptist Church, Yellow Creek Community, Rev. and Mrs. Tony Pope, Dr. Brian Wilhite, Audrey Smalley and her many friends.

Eddie Kenny

TUSCALOOSA - Eddie Kenny, age 73, died April 11, 2002, at his residence. Arrangements will be announced later by Wills' Funeral Service.

Joe (Joey) Wood, Jr.

TUSCALOOSA - Joe (Joey) Wood, Jr., age 42, of 124 Juanita Drive. A memorial service will be held in conjunction with his mother, Dessie Plowman Wood, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Chapel of Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Shawn Odell officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.

He is survived by his father, Joe Wood, Sr.

Kenneth H. Bostick

TUSCALOOSA - Kenneth H. Bostick, died April 21, 2002 at his residence. A memorial services will be held Thursday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Heritage Chapel Funeral Home is handling arrangements locally.

Alma C. Williams

CEDAR BLUFF, MS - Alma C. Williams, age 92, died Saturday, April 20, 2002 at Fondren’s Personal Care Home in Pheba, MS. Services will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in West Point Memorial Garden Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Calvert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

James Patton

TUSCALOOSA - Mr. James Patton, age 42, died April 18, 2002 at his residence. Complete arrangements will be announced later by Wills' Funeral Service, Inc.

Danny Lester Box

COTTONDALE - Danny Lester Box of 10985 Country Haven, Cottondale, Alabama, passed from this life on April 19 at UAB Hospital. Visitation will be Sunday, April 21, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the East Pointe Church of Christ where Danny served as a faithful gospel preacher for almost 14 years.

Burial will be at Memory Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Oliver, Jon Hamilton, Bradley Howton, Roth Feltman, Bill Webb, Richard Rice, Ken Dean, Gary Box, Carl Porter, John Fitzpatrick, and Greg Dixon.

Honorary pallbearers are Bro. Paul Murphy, Dr. Larry Skelton, Jason Tidwell, Roger Koehler, Steve Taylor, Jim Smallwood, Bruce Bailey, Mike Middleton, Michael Boggs, Phil Buchanan, Douglas Farmer, Kevin Feltman, LeWayne Goodwin, Dave Akers, Matt Bailey, Employees of Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Officiating will be Bro. Andy Cates, Bro. Michael Hatcher, Bro. Ronnie Hayes, Bro. Dale Hubbert, Bro. Keith Mozier, Bro. Lynn Parker, and Bro. Joel Wheeler.

Having attended Freed Hardeman College in Tennessee, Danny was a graduate of the DCH School of Nursing, and worked at Bryce Hospital, DCH, West Alabama Hospital and for the last 27 years at the Veterans Administration Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Howton Box, Cottondale; daughter, Annie Elizabeth Box, son, Joseph Daniel Box, parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Box "Teebie" of Fayette, brother, Tom Box (Jeanette), Witchita Falls, TX; sister, Kathy Rutkowski (Rolland), Gardendale, AL; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Anne Howton, Cottondale, AL; brother-in-law, Bradley Howton, Tuscaloosa, AL; nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends.

Danny was known and loved by many as a kind fun loving, and outstanding individual in so many areas of his life. To his wife, he was a Heaven sent Christian mate who always wanted to insure the happiness and well being of the family. To his children, the most wonderful father, protector, preacher and friend. To all those who knew him he was a beacon of God’s love and salvation illuminating the true path to eternal life and leading the way with his Christ like example. Lamentations 3: 21-26.

Kenneth Wayne Dean

TUSCALOOSA - Kenneth Wayne Dean, 51 of 2947 Green Grove Drive, died April 18, 2002 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at Memory Hill Garden Mausoleum Chapel with Tom Stricklin officiating. Heritage Chapel Funeral Home is directing.

Robbie Lee Perry

WINFIELD - Robbie Lee Perry, age 86, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002. Services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. from Harmony Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Harmony Grove Cemetery. Visitation is tonight from 6–8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state Friday at the church from 1–2 p.m. Miles Funeral Home of Winfield directing.

Edith Lynch Hallman

NORTHPORT - Edith Lynch Hallman, age 62, of 17800 Hallman Road, died May 1, 2002, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 2 p.m. today, Mt. Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Montgomery and Rev. Paul Osborn officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Kirk and father, Robert Lynch Sr.; grandmother, Susie Pearl Etheridge and brother, Robert Lynch, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, James Bruce Hallman, Sr.; daughters, Tina Watkins and Tammy Hallman Trawick (Bill); son, Bruce Hallman, Jr. (Christy); sister, Mary Haney (Willie); grandchildren, Kristin, Kim, Adam, Emiley and Matthew.

She was called home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 1, 2002. Edith was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. Edith was a woman full of life and loved by everyone she knew. She was greatly loved and appreciated by her family and will be truly missed.

Edith loved her husband, children and grandchildren more than life itself. She was so proud of her family. She loved watching football, Little League baseball, softball and her granddaughters in dance and majorette line.

Active pallbearers will be Russell Haney, Jimmy West, Jr., Scott Mason, Brooks Spruiell, Brad Spruiell, David Hallman, Bobby Hallman and Jimmy McDaniel.

Honorary pallbearers are Faculty and students of Walker Elementary and Northside High School; friends of the Brownville and Samantha area; Linda Rice, Lynette Weaver, Pat Booth and families; Jimmy and Patsy Speake and family; Ronald (Ponnie) and Kay Pool and family; Bill and Francis Pool and family; William and Hilda Watts and family; Paula Gray; members of Northwood Hills Baptist and Orgeonia Baptist Church; Carol Morris; Jewell Crowell; Dr. Craig Buettner; Dr. James Robinson; Dr. Cathy Gresham; Dr. George Nunn and Dr. William Hill; GI Associates of West Alabama; Neurology Consultants of Tuscaloosa; Dr. Daniel Potts, MD; DCH 5 South Staff, Gaines Lunceford and family, DCH MICU and TSICU and DCH ER Staff.
