NORTHPORT - Nota Jane Rogers, age unavailable, died May 20, 2001, at Northport Medical Center. Services will be Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Magnolia Chapel (North) with the Rev. Jerry Montgomery and Rev. Harold Donald officiating. Burial will follow in Phillips Chapel FWB Church Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home (North) directing. The body will lie in state 1 hour in the Chapel.

She is preceded in death by her hyusband, James Clayton Rogers, two sons, Reynolds Rogers and Bobby Rogers.

Survivors include 6 daughters, Doris (Ray) Drummonds, of Eutaw, JoAnn (Norman) Bailey, of Taylorville, Polly Phillips, of Belmont, Molly Rogers, of Northport, Merrill (Harold) Donald, of Pelham and Shirley Reach, of Foster s, three sons, Billy Ralph Rogers, Northport, Terrill Rogers, Northport and James Edmond Rogers, Northport, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her love for and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ sustained her throughout her life. She found much fulfillment in serving as Sunday School Teach at Mt. Olive Baptist in previous years. Her children "arise up and call her blessed."

Active pallbearers will be, Jeff Donald, Gary Newman, Shane Bailey, Shannon Bailey, John Driver, Jerry Brown, Wayne Kelley, James Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers, Dr. Stephen Browne, Dr. Debra Davis, Staff of DCH Northport, Friends of the Mt. Olive Community, Friends of Englewood Baptist Church, Friends of Dunnavant Baptist Church, Friends of Phillips Chapel Church and Community, Friends of Beulah Baptist Church, Friends of Coker Methodist Church, Friends of Belmont Community, Employees of Seton Home Health Care, many other friends and relatives, Buddy Wheeler.

Thomas Patrick Smith

GORDO - Thomas "Tommy" Patrick Smith, 22, of 13942 Benevola Road, died Jan. 5, 2001, at his residence. Services will be at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel today at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in West Alabama Memorial Gardens.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harold Smith Sr.

Survivors include his mother, Diann Corr of Gordo; father, Harold Smith Jr. of Panama City Beach, Fla.; grandparents, Blanton and Barbara Corr, Gordo, and June Horner of Springdale, Ark.; aunts and uncles: Sherry and Jim Skelton of Tuscaloosa, Dale and Vicki Corr of Savannah, Ga., Tim Corr of Birmingham, Kay and Bayless Rowe of El Dorado, Ark. and Donna Marchin of Springdale, Ark.; cousins: Jeremy and Julia Corr of Savannah, Ga., Adam and Andrew Skelton of Tuscaloosa, Steven and Casandra Corr of Indian Springs, Nev., Michael and Benjamin Rowe of El Dorado, Ark., and Gina and Drew Lonigro of Springdale, Ark.

Tommy was a gifted musician and friend to many. He leaves a void in all of our hearts and lives that will never be filled.

Pallbearers will be Josh Cargile, Jared Comerford, Jordi Cuervo, Brad Elmore, Wes Goode, Zack Howard, Shane Koon and Dave Lillich.

Honorary pallbearers are Gordo High School graduating class of 1997, special friends Nan Pritchett, Chris Harcrow, Dina Holley, Mark Holley, Kelly Manning, Lance Cooper and all of his Kappa Sigma Brothers and friends at Rhodes College, in Memphis, Tenn.

Barbara Jean Webb

CARROLLTON - Barbara Jean Webb, 36, 100 Sandpiper Road, Apt. 1 D, died May 15, 2001 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at 11 a.m., at Lavender Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Adams Cemetery. Lavender Funeral Service directing.

Ruby P. Robuck

EUTAW - Ruby P. Robuck, 95, of Finch Ferry Road, died Jan. 7, 2001, at Heritage Health Care Center. Services will be at Eutaw Baptist Church today at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George Henley officiating. Burial will follow in Mesopotamia Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Sunset Funeral Home is directing.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William J. Robuck, and grandson, Brian Robuck.

Survivors include her daughters, Dean Dillard (Ed) of Eutaw, and Aileen Sanders of Eutaw; sister, Mamie Wilson of Russelville, Ala.; brother, John Robuck (Jeanette) of Birmingham; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers are Station #1 and employees of Heritage Health Services.

Willie I McKinstry

GORDO - Willie I. McKinstry, died May 19, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at 1 p.m., at Lavender Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sandhill Cemetery. Lavender Funeral Service directing.

Wallace Thurber Pierson

WEST BLOCTON - Wallace Thurber Pierson, age 66, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, in West Blocton. Services will be Monday, May 21, at 11 a.m. from Rockco Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. W. Kornegay officiating. Burial will follow in Johntown Cemetery with Rocko Funeral Home of Centreville directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6-8.

Survivors include sons, Rodney Pierson and wife Daphne and Rusty Pierson and wife Theresa all of West Blocton; daughters Rose Cook and husband Roy from Vance and Debbie Mullis and husband Easton of Tuscaloosa; brothers, Prude Pierson, Vance, Grady Pierson, Lake Wells Fla., and Thomas Pierson, Tuscaloosa; sister, Faye Shelby of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Rebekah, Chris, Jennifer, Darris, Krystal, Jeremy, and wife Leslie; and great granddaughter, Hailey. Several nieces and nephews, and special friend Mamie Blackmon

Pallbearers will be David Smitherman, Binky Carver, Roger Stewart, Harold Lucas, Wayne Reach and John Cole.

Honorary pallbearers are friends of Lasses Community.

Delilah Martha Ann Howell

BROOKWOOD - Delilah Martha Ann Howell, 90, 13850 Howell Camp Road, died May 20, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Memory Chapel with Lewis Cooley officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., tonight at the funeral home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Howell.

Survivors included two daughters, Mildred Barger (L.V.), of Brookwood, Elvie Sellers of Peterson; one son, Roy Sellers of Brookwood, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.

Pallbearers will be, Dennis Sellers, Randy, Sellers, Gayland Barger, Sidney Barger, Joe Barger, Travis Barger, Ken Swindle and Doug Barger.

Honorary pallbearers are, Friends and Family, DCH ED Staff, DCH 5th Floor Nurses, 6th Floor South Nurses, and members of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.

Bennie McCain Sr.

NORTHPORT - Mr. Bennie McCain Sr., died Jan. 8, 2001, at Glenn Haven Nursing Home. Complete arrangements will be announced at a later tine by Wills' Funeral Service, Inc.

Mildred Medders Hayes

TUSCALOOSA - Mildred Medders Hayes, 90, died May 20, 2001 at LaRocca Nursing Home. Graveside services will be May 22, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park, with the Rev John Vaughan officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Memory Hills Funeral Home directing.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lanthus Hayes; parents, Mr. & Mrs. Mack Medders; brother, Carlton Medders; sister, Etoile Wedgeworth.

Survivors include sisters, Alice M. James, Kathleen James, Audrey Foster , Eva Allen, nieces and nephews, Betty Reece, James E. Allen Jr., Richard Allen, Judy Foster , Bill Foster , Glenda Merrill, Carolyn Avery, Carl Medders, Alice Palmer.

Mrs. Hayes was a member of First Wesleyan Church. She was retired from Druid City Hospital.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Robert Ed Homan

GORDO - Robert Ed Homan, 82, of 2094 Hwy 159, died Jan. 6, 2001, at his residence. Services will be at Gordo First Baptist Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Marc Howard, the Rev. Scott McQueen and the Rev. Adam Homan officiating. Burial will follow in West Alabama Memorial Gardens. Visitation is tonight at the funeral home from 6-8 at the funeral home. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform is directing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Jesse and Mammie Bell Homan; sisters, Iva Lou Peek, Willodene Holk and Merlene Walker; brothers, John Homan and Charles Homan.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma C. Homan, Gordo, Ala.; daughter, Barbara Sanders and husband, Jack, Guin, Ala.; sons, Dan Homan, and wife, Sylvia, Demopolis, Ala., and Don Homan, Camden, Ala.; sisters, Mary Nell Bobbitt, Columbus, Miss., Levi Bosch, Tuscaloosa, Annie Ruth Anderson and husband, Don, Brookwood, and Betty Sue Sanders and husband, Mack, Butler, Ala.; brothers, Jonas Homan and wife, Martha, Gordo, Ala., Raybon Homan and wife, Joyce, Tuscaloosa, and Gerald Homan and wife, Ellen, Gordo, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Donna Smithwick and husband, Wes, Broken Arrow, Okla., Steve Sanders and wife, Tammy, Guin, Ala., Danna Homan, Atlanta, Ga., Melanie Homan, Jacksonville, Fla., Matt Homan, Demopolis, Ala., Lana Dyer and husband, Bo, Gordo, Ala., and Shelly Gray and husband, Andy, Gordo; and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Homan was a lifelong resident of West Alabama. He was born in Lamar County and lived with his wife Thelma in Gordo for the past 53 years. He was employed at Central Foundry in Tuscaloosa for 27 years and later worked at Weyerhaeuser for 10 years. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Gordo where he was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class.

Pallbearers will be Gene Powell, James McDaniel, Bo Dyer, Andy Gray, Steve Sanders, Marlin Homan, Matt Homan and Wes Smithwick.

Robert Lee Henderson

EUTAW - Robert Lee Henderson, 91, died Jan. 8, 2001, at the IHS Briarcliff facility in Alabaster, Ala. One of 13 children born to James Edmond and Nancy Lamb Henderson, he is survived by the children of his marriage to Annie Mary Henderson (pre-deceased): R. Melvin Henderson, Leawood, Kan.; Merte H. Williamson, Waycross, Ga., Mary H. Hudson, Birmingham, Ala., and Martha H. Kirkland, Brentwood, Tenn.; sister, Trixie H. Roebuck, Tuscaloosa; 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

A longtime resident of Eutaw, Ala., Henderson, a retired carpenter, was active in the Eutaw Baptist Church, serving for decades as Sunday School Superintendent, as Deacon, and as chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee.

Memorial Services at the Eutaw Baptist church will be on Wednesday; visitation with family and friends at noon and worship service at 1 p.m. Visitation with family and friends will also be available at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home tonight from 6-7. Burial will follow at the Mesopotamia Cemetery in Eutaw. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations may be contributed to the Annie Mary and Robert Lee Henderson Scholarship at the Eutaw Baptist Church; a scholarship for Eutaw Baptist Church members at Samford University.

The active and honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren.

Heritage Chapel Funeral Home of Tuscaloosa is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Arcaster Kimbrell

FAYETTE - Arcaster Kimbrell, 88, 313 3rd St., N.E., died May 20, 2001, at his residence of his daughter in Talledega. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m., at Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fayette City Cemetery. Nelson Funeral Home directing.

David J. Edwards

LEESBURG, Fla. - David J. Edwards, 19, of Leesburg, Fla., died May 17, 2001 in Demopolis, as the result of an accidental drowning. The remains will be cremated. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 26, 2001 in Leesburg, Fla. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Ala., directing.
