Enos E. ‘Ozzie’ Davis

Enos E. "Ozzie" Davis, 71, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rogers. He was born Aug. 19, 1933, in Stanford, Mont., to Enos E. Davis and Beryl Arletha Gates Davis.

He held an associate’s degree from the University of Washington. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a Marine steamfitter. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Lewistown, Mont., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of San Diego, Calif.

Survivors include his wife, Paula G. Davis; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey S. Davis and Terri Davis of Imperial Beach, Calif., and Tracy S. Davis and Charlene Davis of Key Largo, Fla.; a daughter, Melissa S. Davis of Port Hadlock, Wash.; five stepchildren, Merry Rebholz and her husband Steven Rebholz of Peoria, Ill., Dorothy DeMay of Normal, Ill., Paul DeMay and his wife Jennifer DeMay of Farmington, Ark., and Louise Quirk, and Mildred "Pud" Galarneau and her husband Robert Galarneau, all of Bothell, Wash.; and 13 grandchildren.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., with military honors provided by Bella Vista VFW Post 9063.

Arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, in care of Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., Rogers, AR 72756.

The Carl Edward Hohlt obituary is being republished to correct his mother’s name and to add pallbearers.

Carl Edward Hohlt

Carl Edward Hohlt, 90, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at a local nursing home. He was born Nov. 22, 1914, in Marion County, Ind., to Harry Hohlt and Rosina Lawall Hohlt.

He was a Ben Davis High School graduate. He worked for many years on the south side of Indianapolis, Ind., as a truck gardener, selling to the public and to local grocery stores. He was later employed by Berkheimer in Indianapolis. He worked at the 6-12 Mart in Rogers for more than 10 years. He was known by many as "Curly." He enjoyed fishing and bowling.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Margaret Hohlt, whom he marriage on May 31, 1963, in Indianapolis; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lawrence Hohlt and Barbara Hohlt of New York and James Hohlt of Texas; a stepson, Richard McDonald and his wife Cheryl McDonald of Greenfield, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Nancy Heitz and her husband Richard Heitz of Rogers; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers with Pastor Erik Boye.

Burial will be at the Rogers Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Heitz, Kyle Heitz, Richard Mc-Donald, Scott McDonald, Tracy McDonald and Richard Heitz.

Memorials may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund, 805 W. Oak St., Rogers, AR 72756.

Alvie Lee Cato Sr.

Alvie Lee Cato Sr., 75, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Beverly Health Care in Rogers. He was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Archer City, Texas, to George H. Cato and Olie May Whorton Cato.

He was a general laborer and a member of the Pentecostal Church. He served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard.

Survivors include a son, Alvie Cato Jr. of Kingsport, Tenn.; two daughters, Debra Going and Pam Johnson, both of Rogers; a brother, Richard Wayne Cato of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Francis Dale of Bridgeport, Texas; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., with military honors provided by Bella Vista Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9063.

Arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.

Wiloma Edens

Wiloma Edens, 67, of Garfield, Ark., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at her home. She was born Aug. 18, 1937, in Strawberry, Ark., to Edward Doyle and Ollie Huskey Doyle.

She worked at Alpha Childcare in Rogers, Ark.; ACEC childcare in Centerton, Ark.; and on her farm. She was a member of the Freedom Freewill Baptist Church in Garfield, where she played piano for 30 years. She enjoyed cooking, reading and vegetable gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clint Edens, on March 19, 1988; a brother, Duane Doyle; and two grandsons, Jeffrey James and Adam Howell.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie Edens and Connie Edens, and Alan Edens and Luella Edens, all of Garfield; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna Howell of Decatur, Ark., and Norma James and Randall James of Garfield; a brother and sister-in-law, Ellis Doyle and Donna Doyle of Garfield; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Doyle of Bella Vista, Ark., and Virginia Reddick of Dennison, Texas; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge, Ark. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at the Freedom Freewill Baptist Church in Garfield with the Rev. Arthur Lee Galloway, the Rev. Jeremy Howell and the Rev. Craig Villines. Burial will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Avoca, Ark.

Ruth Janet Letteer Mellor

Ruth Janet Letteer Mellor, 93, of Lafayette, La., formerly of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, in Lafayette. She was born Nov. 10, 1911, in Neuchatel, Kan., to Guy A. Letteer and Charlotte Anne Westlake Letteer. She graduated from Helena (Okla.) High School and from Hill’s Business College in Oklahoma City. She moved to Rogers in 1955 from Oklahoma City. She worked for Ralston Purina, the Farmers Co-op, and retired from Jim’s IGA store in 1978. She was an active member of the Central United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and Altrusa. She was a tutor, teaching many people to read and write. She moved to Lafayette in 1980 from Rogers. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening and flowers.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter I. Letteer.

Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul A. Letteer and Ann Letteer of Lafayette, and Gene A. Letteer and Margaret Letteer of Rogers, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

Graveside funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at the Rogers Cemetery in Rogers, Ark., with the Rev. Jaimie Alexander.

Arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International, P. O. Box 1034, Rogers, AR 72757-1304.

Jerry Melvin Colley

Jerry Melvin Colley, 63, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at his home. He was born Jan. 4, 1942, in Avoca, Ark., to Carl Colley and Margie Cochran Colley.

He joined the U.S. Navy after high school. He was a self-employed construction worker. He was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Colley; a son, Shane Colley; a brother, Lonnie Henry; and his stepfather, S. O. Henry.

Survivors include his mother, Margie Henry of Rogers; four daughters and two sonsin-law, Melanie Jones of Santo, Texas, Debi Ratliff and Sam Ratliff of Claremore, Okla., Angela Colley of Dallas, Texas, and Tish McNaney and Clem Mc-Naney of Windsor, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Tracy Little of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Mark Henry and Shelia Henry of Oologah, Okla.; and a sister and brotherin-law, Connie Ellis and Larry Ellis of Rogers.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers.

Burial will be at the Tuck’s Chapel Cemetery, north of Rogers, with military honors provided by American Legion Post 100 of Rogers.

David Winston Gates

David Winston Gates, 86, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rogers. He was born Jan. 7, 1919, in Plymouth, Mich., to Harmon Gates and Martha Gates.

He attended Eastern Michigan University. After a brief tour of duty in the military, he marriage Audrienne Wright in 1942. He was a teacher and baseball coach at Cooley High School in Detroit, Mich. He was later employed by Daisy Manufacturing Co., working in marketing and on consumer education programs, and moved with the company to Rogers in 1958. He served in leadership roles with the Rogers School Board, the Community School Recreation Association, the Rogers Chamber of Commerce, the Arkansas School Board Association, St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation, the Rogers Library Foundation and the Northwest Arkansas Therapy Institute. He also led efforts to build the Rogers High School stadium that bears his name.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rogers, serving as an elder for five terms and helping to organize the First Presbyterian Church Foundation.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Gates.

Survivors include his wife, Audrienne Gates; two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha Ann Jones and Robert Jones, and Mary Ellen Wilensky and Steve Wilensky; four granddaughters, Jennifer Williams, Jessica Zebley, Sara Wilensky and Laura Wilensky; and a great-grandson, Ethan Williams.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the First Presbyterian Church in Rogers with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Rice. Interment will be at the church’s Columbarium Memorial Garden following the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Beatty, Bob Cowan, Dick Daniel, John Ford, Oren Ribar and Jim Welch.

Local arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Foundation, to the Rogers Public Library, to the Rogers School Foundation, to St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Margarita Mejia

Margarita Mejia, 40, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rogers. She was born Oct. 17, 1964, in Cocula, Jalisco, Mexico, to Pedro Sanchez and Rosa Aguila. She was employed by Tyson Foods Inc. in Rogers. She attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. Survivors include her husband, Hector Mejia; a son, Hector Mejia of the home; a daughter, Beatriz Mejia of the home; four brothers; and 11 sisters. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, and Friday, Feb. 4, at Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. Burial will be at the St. Vincent Cemetery in Rogers.

Eulee L. ‘E. L.’ Lynch

Eulee L. "E. L." Lynch, 83, of Shell Knob, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at the Red Rose Inn in Cassville, Mo. He was born Aug. 8, 1921, in Alley Springs, Mo., to Elmer Lynch and Dorthea Chilton Lynch.

As a young boy, he moved with his family to Wichita, Kan. He graduated from Wichita North High School. He marriage Dorothy Brownlee on April 16, 1944, in Wichita. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a foreman for Beech Aircraft. He was a Christian. He was a member of the Masonic Temple and the Scottish Rite Temple in Wichita, and a member of the Elks in Liberal, Kan. He retired, and he and his family moved to Shell Knob 33 years ago. He enjoyed yard work, boating, skiing, paddle-boat rides and golf.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen and Maxine.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lynch; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sheryl Campbell of Shell Knob, and Colleen Dickinson and Gary Dickinson of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Keith Campbell, Lori Clark, Jeremy Zogelmann and Jamie Dickinson; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Fohn Funeral Home, the Williamson Chapel, in Shell Knob, Mo. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at Fohn Funeral Home, the Williamson Chapel, with the Rev. Denzel Nonhof. Burial with military honors will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at the Summersville Cemetery in Summersville, Mo. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice, in care of Williamson Funeral Home, P. O. Box 544, Cassville, MO 65625-0544.
