Velma Cooper Crabtree
Velma Cooper Crabtree, 90, of Anderson, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at Medicalodge in Neosho, Mo., She was born May 20, 1914, in Hiwasse, Ark. to Christopher Columbus Cooper and Georgia Anis Pendergraft Cooper.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law, Don and Betty Crabtree of Anderson, Mo., and Dennis and Norma Jean Crabtree of Joplin, Mo; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Visitation was Nov. 23 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Nov. 23 at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with burial in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse.
Arrangements were by Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers.

Philip Haynes Beckmann
Philip Haynes Beckmann, 84, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Jan. 7, 2005, at his home. He was born Nov. 28, 1920, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Karl Beckmann and Martha Ruth Haynes Beckmann.
He was raised and educated in Philadelphia. He was a disabled veteran who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed by Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, for more than 40 years, retiring in 1987. He was an adult Scout leader for more than 20 years. He moved to Bella Vista in 1991 from Lamoni. He enjoyed fishing and Bible study.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine Beckmann; a son, Philip Beckmann Jr.; a brother, Arthur Beckmann; and a sister, Ruth.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Beckmann; three sons and a daughter-in-law, David Beckmann of Rogers, Ark., Karl Beckmann of Medford, Ore., and Randy Beckmann and Kristi Beckmann of Van Wert, Iowa; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia Beckmann of Westchester, Pa., LoAnne Garrett and Robert Garrett of Independence, Mo., and Debra Blair and Clyde Blair of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, David Beckmann of Lamoni, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
No services are planned.
Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Kurt James Green
Kurt James Green , 47, of Bentonville, Ark., died Jan. 2, 2005, in Springdale, Ark. He was born Jan. 17, 1957, in Dodge Center, Minn., to Roger W. Green and Angela DeVriendt Green .
He was preceded in death by his mother, Angela Green .
Survivors include his father, Roger W. Green Sr. of Bella Vista, Ark.; two brothers, Roger W. Green Jr. of St. Charles, Minn., and Clayton E. Green of Tucson, Ariz.; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Laura R. Green of Rogers, Ark., Cecelia E. Schermerhorn and Steve Schermerhorn of Rochester, Minn., Lisa L. Sweetow and Scott Sweetow of Washington, D.C., and Kari J. Shaw and Michael Shaw of Bella Vista; two nieces; and three nephews.
A memorial service was held Jan. 7 at Callison-Lough Funeral Home.
Cremation arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Literacy Council of Benton County, P.O. Box 372, Bentonville, Ark. 72712.

Arthur R. Huber
Arthur R. Huber, 81, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Jan. 5, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born June 9, 1923, in St. Louis, Mo., to Arthur W. Huber and Marcella B. Huber.
He was a U.S. Navy pilot and veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. He graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1947. He retired in 1989 as vice president of Peerless Products Inc. in Kansas City, Kan. He enjoyed golf, tennis and performing in community theater. His favorite role was as Elwood P. Dowd in "Harvey" with the Village Players.
A celebration of life was held Jan. 8 at the United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista.
Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Lutheran Church Building Fund, 100 Cooper Road, Bella Vista, Ark. 72715; or to support Parkinson's disease research at www.parkinson.org

Mary Kenney
Mary Kenney, 87, of Columbus, Ohio, died Jan. 1, 2005, at Hospice's Kobacker House. She was born April 25, 1917, in Iberia, Mo., to Charles Welsh and Emma Woody Welsh.
She married John William Kenney on Nov. 25, 1937, in St. Louis. The couple moved to Bella Vista, Ark., from Columbus in 1976. Mary returned to Columbus in May 2003.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Christina Lyn; her parents; two brothers, Fred and Ed Welsh; and two sisters, Edith Byassee and Marcella Roberts.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ray Brown of Columbus; a son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Janet Kenney of Boxborough, Mass.; three grandchildren, Tyler Brown of Chicago, and Nicole Kenney and Courtney Irving of Boxborough, Mass.; and two sisters, Lula Freund of St. Louis and Mae Harlow of Bella Vista, Ark.
A memorial service was held Jan. 5 at the First Community Village Retirement Center Chapel, Burkhart Center in Columbus.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice's Kobacker House, 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43214. Condolences can be left at www.newcomerfamily.com

Elaine Fasnacht Miles
Elaine Fasnacht Miles, 66, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Jan. 7, 2005, in Bentonville, Ark.
She was an elementary school teacher in Pomona, Calif., and Overland Park, Kan. She shared a passion for baseball with her husband, Jerry, and was an administrative assistant for two national baseball coaches associations. USA Baseball named her National Amateur Baseball Woman of the Year in 2000.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Jerry Miles; a son, Craig Miles of California; and a sister, Glenda Jimmink of California.
As per her wishes, there will be no funeral services. Friends and relatives are asked to have a moment of silence to recognize her life.
Cremation arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an animal rescue organization.

Clarence Edgar Stamper
Clarence Edgar Stamper, 88, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Jan. 7, 2005, at his home. He was born July 30, 1916, in Baltimore, Md., to Clarence Edgar Stamper Sr. and Charlotte Mossholder Stamper.
He was a retired electrical engineer and a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and reading.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Stamper; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Teri Baldwin of Missouri, Lisa Campbell and Eric Campbell, and Heidi Blanchar and Philip Blanchar, all of California, and Debie McSweeney and Tim McSweeney of Massachusetts; three grandsons; and a granddaughter.
Cremation arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers, Ark.
