Lorene Austin Page

Lorene Austin Page, 88, of Springdale, Ark., died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale. She was born June 28, 1917, in Elm Springs, Ark., to W. T. Austin and Edna Smith Austin.

She marriage John C. Page on Jan. 3, 1934, in Pineville, Mo. She was a homemaker and a member of the Harmon Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Page, in 1995; and a son, Jack E. Page, in 1977.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Page of Springdale; two granddaughters, Kimberly Smith of Alexandria, Va., and Jennie Petersen of Springdale; and three great-grandchildren, Erika Smith, Daniel Smith and Kaia Petersen.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 7, at the Elm Springs Methodist Church in Elm Springs, Ark., with the Rev. Mark McDonald. Burial will be at the Elm Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arbor Day Foundation, Trees in Memory, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410. Online condolences may be made at www.wassonfuneralhome.com.

Riley J. "Rilen" Voyles

Riley J. "Rilen" Voyles, 76, of Cassville, Mo., died Friday, March 31, 2006, at Red Rose Inn in Cassville. He was born July 27, 1929, in Kansas to William H. Voyles and Hattie Carlyle Voyles.

At a young age, he moved with his family from Kansas to Arkansas, and later to Missouri. He was a longtime resident of Monett, Mo., and Cassville. He lived and worked at various shelter workshops around Missouri. He was an avid knitter.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a brother, August Voyles of Green Forest, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at Fohn Funeral Home of Cassville.

Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at the Lake Park Memorial Gardens in Shell Knob, Mo., with Pastor Doyle Russell.

Doris Jean Holke

Doris Jean Holke of Rogers, AR, died April 2, 2006. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on March 10, 1925.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Holke. Doris and Ken moved to Rogers in 1971. Doris was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rogers, where she served as the church’s treasurer until February 2006.

Doris became very involved in the Benton County Community. She was active in the Republican Party, serving as President of the Arkansas Federation of Republican Women for years. She served on the Benton County Election Commission for two long terms, retiring in December 2005. She was an active member in PEO.

Doris was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

She is survived by her son, David and wife Diane of Oklahoma City; daughter, Cathy Beck and husband Sam of Rogers, AR; grandchildren, Nikki Elliott and husband John, Landon Beck and wife Jennifer, Travis Beck and wife Alicia; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Julia Elliott.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Rogers with the Reverend Jeff Parker officiating. There will be a reception at 10:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service.

Family suggest memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church in Rogers.

Services are under the direction of Callison-Lough, Rogers, Arkansas.

Juanita Mozel Drury

Juanita Mozel Drury, 79, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at Highland Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Bella Vista. She was born March 12, 1926, in Hanna, Okla., to Amos Williams and Mamie Williams. She was self employed having owned a farm and a grocery store. She was a member of the Word of Life Fellowship in Bentonville. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Hepner in 1989; her second husband, William Drury in 2004; two sons, Fred Hepner Jr. and Danny Hepner; and a brother.

Survivors include a daughter, Darleen Spears of Bella Vista; a son, Henry Hepner of Marysville, Calif.; four step-children; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Bentonville, Ark.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at the Centerton Cemetery in Centerton, Ark., with Donald Spears.

Arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Bentonville, Ark.

Minnie Lorene Reed

Minnie Lorene Reed, 83, of Gentry, Ark., died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at her home. She was born Feb. 9, 1922, in Cherokee County, Okla., to Lee Graves and Virgie Sisco Graves. She was a resident of Gentry for the past eight years, but lived most of her life in Kansas, Okla., and Colcord, Okla. She was a homemaker and worked for Plus Poultry for 18 years.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, Haskell Sisson; four brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include four sisters, Marie Barnes and Faye Reynolds, both of Gentry, June Moser of Cave Springs, Ark., and Corene Watkins of Drummond, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Wasson Memorial Chapel of Siloam Springs, Ark.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Wasson Memorial Chapel with Charles Cash.

Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Faye Ann Edmondson

Faye Ann Edmondson, 69, of Maysville, Ark., died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rogers, Ark. She was born Jan. 10, 1936, in Siloam Springs, Ark., to James Turner Jr. and Marguerite Lauderdale Edmondson.

She lived in Sulphur Springs, Ark., most of her life. She was assistant cashier for 25 years at the Bank of Gravett and retired in 2001. She was a Methodist. She enjoyed reading, walking, raising cocker spaniels, fishing, movies and Christmas.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Turner Jr.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, Roy Lee Bryan of Glenpool, Okla., Dale Owen Bryan of Douglas, Ark., and Tobin Hugh Crowly and Lisa Crowly of Sulphur Springs; a daughter and son-in-law, Terry Jan Rogers and Robbin Rogers of Jay, Okla.; her mother, Marguerite Edmondson of Maysville; a brother and sisterin-law, Jim Allen Edmondson and Minerva Edmondson of Maysville; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at the Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Gravette, Ark.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Thompson-Edmondson Cemetery in Maysville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Gravette. North Platte, Neb.

Mildred Ickes

Mildred Ickes, 88, of North Platte, Neb., formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at Centennial Park Retirement Center in North Platte. She was born Feb. 24, 1917, in Dunning, Neb., to Joseph Majer and Millie Kozel Majer.

She grew up in Ravenna, Neb., and graduated from Ravenna High School. She marriage Harry Stacy in 1935. She worked at Henningson Foods and, during World War II, the Cornhusker Ordinance Depot in Grand Island, Neb. In 1943, she moved to North Platte to work on the Union Pacific Railroad as a crew caller. While in North Platte she was active in the women’s bowling league and in the women’s softball program. In 1957, she marriage Miller "Bud" Ickes in Lincoln, Neb. She retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 1975 as an engine dispatcher. In 1982 she moved to Bella Vista where she participated in golf as well as bowling.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, and two sisters.

Survivors include a brother, John "Jack" Majer of Ravenna; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard J. Stacy and Peggy Stacy of Kearney, Neb., and Larry C. Stacy and Ronda Stacy of North Platte; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Neb., with the Rev. Ned Cooper.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams and Swanson Funeral Home of North Platte.

Virgie Thompson

Virgie Thompson, 95, of Springdale, Ark., died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, in Springdale. She was born Aug. 31, 1910, in Bruno, Ark., to W. T. Harris and Sarah Raines Harris.

She marriage J. J. "Jurd" Thompson on Nov. 10, 1927, in Bruno, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Lex Thompson.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Verl Thompson and Sue Thompson of Springdale, Dale Thompson and Becky Thompson of Centerton, Terry Thompson and Linda Thompson of Hot Springs, and Monty Thompson and Janis Thompson of Uberaba, Brazil; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at First Baptist Church in Decatur with the Rev. William "Bill" Canary.

Burial will be at the Decatur Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Philip Thompson, Jerry Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, David Thompson, Mike Thompson and Delton Bush.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Thompson, Travis Thompson and Chris Thompson.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville Missionary Fund or the First Baptist Church of Decatur.
