Connie Petrey, 75, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

Arrangements are pending with Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.

Aretta Nelson

Aretta Nelson, 101, of Quail Ridge Living Center in West Siloam Springs, Okla., died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004.

Survivors include a son, Lonnie Nelson of Siloam Springs, Ark.

Arrangements are pending with Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Elmer Austin

Elmer Austin, 87, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, in Arlington. He served in the U. S. Army in World War II. He was a 32 nd-degree Mason and a member of the First Baptist Church of Arlington.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Bessie Austin Tate; and three brothers, Leory Austin, Jay Austin and another Leory Austin. Survivors include his wife, Trilla Austin; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy Bob Austin and Shirley Austin; a brother, Jimmie Austin; two grandsons, Steven Austin and Mark Austin; and three great-grandsons. Graveside funeral services will be at 1 p. m. Monday, Nov. 13, at the Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, Okla.

Lucille T. Newman

Lucille T. Newman, 85, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, in Bella Vista. She was born April 16, 1921, in Berwyn, Ill., to Henry Tichy and Anna Tichy.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Bella Vista Community Church. She was a volunteer at the Bella Vista Library, the Bella Vista Alzheimer’s Association and the former Bates Hospital in Bentonville, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Newman, on June 16, 1986. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Rick Newman and Mary Newman of Burnsville, Minn.; a brother, Henry Tichy of Seminole, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 a. m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Bella Vista Community Church with Pastor Dick Lindman. Memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Library or to the Susan G. Gary A. Ball

Gary A. Ball, 65, of Bentonville, Ark., died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, in Rogers. He was born Aug. 25, 1941, in Bentonville to Kenneth Allen Ball and Inez Ellen Roller Ball.

He was previously employed by Emerson Electric.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Alverson Ball; and a son, Larry Dale Ball.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, David Allen Ball, and Gary Don Ball and Melissa Ball, all of Bentonville, and Kenneth Wayne Ball of Goodman, Mo.; five brothers Billy Don Ball of Cave Springs, Ark., Bob Ball of Collinsville, Okla., Jim Ball of El Paso, Texas, Mike Ball of Tulsa, Okla., and Randy Ball of Claremore, Okla.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a. m. to 1: 30 p. m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers, Ark. Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Tuck’s Chapel Cemetery, north of Rogers. Online condolences may be made at www. bentoncountyfuneralhome. com.

Lois E. Snyder Cannon

Lois E. Snyder Cannon, 85, of Greenwood, Ark., died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born Feb. 8, 1921, in Newkirk, Okla., to Roy and Mildred Poland Snyder. She was a retired school teacher. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rogers, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Cannon; two brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert L. Cannon and Judi Cannon of Dallas, Texas, Mike Cannon and Peggy Cannon of Houston, Texas, and David Cannon of Fayetteville, Ark; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Fritsche and Ken Fritsche of Greenwood; two siblings, Frank Snyder of Green Forest, Ark., and Jean Tinsley of Bonner Springs, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a. m. to 11 a. m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the First United Methodist Church in Rogers.

A celebration of life will be at 11 a. m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the First United Methodist Church in Rogers with the Rev. Sandra Wanasek and Rev. Larry Ott.

Burial will follow in the Rogers Cemetery.

Donations may be made to The First United Methodist Church Stephen Ministry in Rogers. Arrangements are under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.

William “Bill” E. Flodman

William “Bill” E. Flodman, 85, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale, Ark. He was born July 3, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He worked for William Volker Co. in Kansas City and later moved to California. He then moved to Coffeyville, Kan., working at the U. S. Postal Service office until his retirement in 1980. He enjoyed football, boating, and traveling in his recreational vehicle. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marjory Flodman of Bella Vista; a sister, Lorraine Sillette of Pittsburg, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Mardell McLemore of Bella Vista. Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kan. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762. Online condolences may be made at www.funeralmation. com.

Carlton Eugene Cartwright

Carlton Eugene Cartwright, 45, of Noel, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo., following a sudden illness. He was born Aug. 26, 1962, in Wichita, Kan., to the Rev. Bobby Joe Cartwright and Naomi Eileen Clark Cartwright.

He had lived in McDonald County, Mo., since 1975, moving from Minneapolis, Kan. He marriage Darla Renee Cory on Oct. 29, 1982, at the Honey Lake Church in Noel. He was employed with the Wal-Mart Home Office in Bentonville, Ark., for 26 years, as Home Office campus maintenance manager, international buyer, construction manager and, most recently, as project manager for Kekoka Construction, based in Longview, Texas. He owned C & C Arms in Noel. He was a member of the Cove Mission of Hope Church in Lanagan, Mo. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and guns.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 23 years, Darla Renee Cartwright, on Dec. 21, 2005.

Survivors include two sons, Sean Franklin Cartwright and Dillon Ray Cartwright, both of the home; and a daughter, Carlie Jean Cartwright of the home; his parents, the Rev. Bob and Naomi Cartwright of Anderson, Mo.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jon Cartwright and Sandra Cartwright of Bella Vista, Ark., and Daniel Cartwright and Jodie Cartwright of Pineville, Mo.; his mother-in-law and fatherin-law, Barbara and Frank Cory of Noel; his grandfather, Glenn Clark of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers-in-law, Douglas Dean Cory and his wife Cindy Cory of Grove, Okla., and Stormi Wynne Cory and his wife Lisa Cory of Noel; a sister-in-law, Roxanne Starr Sederberg and her husband Rick Sederberg of Noel; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 2 p. m. to 8 p. m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Walker-Dowd Funeral Home of Anderson, Mo., with the family receiving friends from 6 p. m. to 8 p. m. Funeral services will be at 1 p. m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Full Gospel Church in Anderson, Mo. Burial will be at the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Mo. Pallbearers will be Justin Cartwright, Matthew Cartwright, Carl Wayne Cartwright, Joseph Cartwright, Clayton Cory and Stormi Cory. Bart Leslie Chappell

Bart Leslie Chappell, 64, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rogers. He was born March 9, 1943, in Pickens, S. C., to Robert Chappell and Bessie Chappell. Arrangements are pending with Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Mary Joyce Crone Clark

Mary Joyce Crone Clark, 85, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Houston, Texas, to Van Trotter Rabia and Hettie Brown Rabia. She received an Associate of Science degree in nursing. She lived in Texarkana, Texas, prior to moving to Siloam Springs four years ago. She was a Seventh-day Adventist. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert “ Bob” Crone and Harold Clark; and an infant son. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim Crone and Carol Crone of Siloam Springs, and Gary Crone and Vickie Crone of Tyler, Texas; a stepson, Harold Clark of Springhill, La.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p. m. to 8: 30 p. m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Texarkana Funeral Home of Texarkana, Texas.

Graveside funeral services will be at 10: 30 a. m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Texarkana, Ark., with George Dimmick.

Local arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Charles Dwight Clegg

Charles Dwight Clegg, 72, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born Dec. 5, 1934, in Blairstown, Mo., to Floyd Clegg and Marjorie Holzhauer Clegg.

He marriage Charolette Moore on July 28, 1955. A former longtime resident of Colorado, he had lived in the Siloam Springs area since 1989. He retired as a truck driver with Sysco Foods. He was a member of the Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church in Gentry, Ark.

Survivors include his wife, Charolette Clegg; a son and daughter-in-law, Marlin Clegg and Marice Clegg of Gentry, Ark.; a daughter and son-in-law, Renee Ramsey and Chuck Ramsey of Fort Collins, Colo.; a foster daughter, Marita Jones of Cortez, Colo.; and five grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 1, at the Fairmount Cemetery near Gentry, Ark., with Pastor Glenn Hill.

Memorials may be made to the Ozark Adventist Elementary School.

Billie Irene Vargas-Polk

Billie Irene Vargas-Polk, 68, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale, Ark. She was born Aug. 17, 1939, in Fulton, Kan., to William Roe Krebs and Winifred Irene Gump Krebs.

After her children were grown, she became a licensed practical nurse and worked in nursing while continuing to go to school. She earned a registered-nursing degree in 1985. She worked in various areas of nursing, including the intensive care unit, the cardiac care unit, medical floors and home health, in Kansas, Arkansas and Oklahoma. She owned a residential care home in West Siloam Springs, Okla., for a couple of years.

She attended the Power and Light Bible School in 1998, then began her service as a missionary to India. She was awarded for her service there with an honorary doctorate of philosophy in Christian education through the University of Hawaii in August 2003.

She marriage Norman Dale Polk on Oct. 11, 2004, in Siloam Springs. She continued her service in India, setting up Bible schools and ministering there until her health declined. She was a member of the Galilean Church of Kansas, Okla. She enjoyed country living, gardening, cooking and canning.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Roe Krebs.

Survivors include her husband, Norman Dale Polk; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Lasley and Donald Lasley of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Crawford and Paula Crawford of Locust Grove, Okla.; her mother, Winifred Krebs of Sapulpa, Okla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Claude Krebs and Irene Krebs of Sapulpa; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 p. m. to 8 p. m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Backstrom–Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Funeral services will be at 10 a. m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel with the Rev. Layton Reed.

Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Galilean Church of Kansas, Okla., Attn: Missions, P. O. Box 159, Kansas, OK 74347.
