Patricia Ellen Myers

Patricia Ellen Myers, 69, of Lowell, Ark., died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at her home. She was born Aug. 15, 1935, in McDonald, Kan., to Jessie James Yankey and Dorothy Ellen Minor Yankey.

She was a retired restaurant worker and a Methodist.

Survivors include two sons, Linas Yankey and Lionel Lee Myers, both of Lowell.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements were by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home and Crematory of Fayetteville, Ark.

Hugh Thomas "Tom" Platt IV, 69, of Springdale, Ark., died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at his home following complications from Alzheimer's disease. He was born Sept. 30, 1935, in Little Rock, Ark., to Hugh Thomas "Bud" Platt III and Emmy Kretschmar Platt.

He moved with his parents from Fort Smith, Ark., to Springdale in 1952, at which time the family purchased Jumbo Motor Supply in downtown Springdale. He graduated from Springdale High School in 1953 and from St. John's College in Winfield, Kan., in 1955.

He marriage Roberta Eidson on Aug. 14, 1959. He received a bachelor of science in business administration degree in marketing from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1961. After completing his education, he continued as owner of Jumbo Motor Supply until his retirement in 1999.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. He served on the board of directors of the American Savings and Loan Association, and was a board member of the Automotive Service Industry Association and the Arkansas Wholesalers Association. He was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale, where he served as a choir member and in many elected and voluntary leadership positions.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, April 5, at Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale with Pastor Mark Louderback. Private family burial will be held at a later date at the Zion Cemetery in Springdale. Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.

Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 610 E. Emma Ave., Springdale, AR 72764; or to the Salem Lutheran School Scholarship Fund, 1800 W. Emma Ave., Springdale, AR 72764.

Dwight Ridenour

Dwight Ridenour, 62, of Springdale, Ark., died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in Springdale. He was born Oct. 29, 1942, in Joplin, Mo., to Ray Ridenour and Lorraine Hanks Ridenour.

He was an electrician and worked as a security supervisor at Securitas Security Services.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 9, at the First Baptist Church in Lowell, Ark., with Pastor Gary Thomas. Burial was at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, Ark. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale.

Pallbearers were Phillip Wilson, Bill Bowerman, Kenneth Smith, Tim Smith, Jim Thompson, Brad Pruitt, Gary Clark and Robert Cousins.

Alma M. Roberts

Alma M. Roberts, 96, of Rogers, Ark., died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Innisfree Nursing Center in Rogers. She was born Oct. 26, 1908, in Providence, R.I., to Fromhardt Jurgens and Mary Dolezal Jurgens.

She retired as an administrator for Aetna Insurance Co.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Walter Roberts.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 8, at the Callison-Lough Chapel in Rogers with Dr. Jacob Adler. Burial was at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 320 N. Greenwood Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Victor Earl Shields

Victor Earl Shields, 88, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Saturday, April 9, 2005, in Siloam Springs. He was born on April 8, 1917, in Highfill, Ark., to Arthur C. Shields and Lela Rea Summers Shields.

He lived most of his life in Fairmount Community near Siloam Springs. He marriage Opal Burden on Oct. 31, 1938. He was a dairy farmer and an agent and board member for Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. in Gentry, Ark. He was a member of the East Kenwood Missionary Baptist Church and was a longtime caretaker of Fairmount Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Shields; and a daughter, Linda Shields.

Survivors includes his wife, Opal Shields; a son and daughter-in-law, Lyle Shields and Cynthia Shields of Rogers, Ark.; and a daughter and son-in-law, Faye Roberts and Parker Roberts of Gentry.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 12, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs with the Rev. Ronnie Bradshaw and the Rev. Marvin Loyd. Burial was at Fairmount Cemetery.

Matthew Alan Sprunger

Matthew Alan Sprunger, 35, of Lowell, Ark., died Friday, April 8, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale, Ark. He was born Sept. 27, 1969, in Indiana to Milton Dewey and Jane Shipley Sprunger.

Survivors include his wife, Nettie Hall Sprunger; his parents, Dewey and Jane Sprunger of Monticello, Ind.; a brother, Andy Sprunger of Indianapolis, Ind.; and two sisters, Beth Swartz of Millbury, Ohio, and Sharon Sprunger of Houston, Texas.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, April 13, at the First Christian Church in Rogers, Ark., with Pastor Chris Pulliam. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery in Lafayette, Ind. Arrangements were by Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers.

Ronald 'Ron' Lee Veneigh

Ronald "Ron" Lee Veneigh, 55, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born Oct. 15, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Leroy J. Veneigh and Thelma Burnett Veneigh.

He was employed by Wal-Mart, where he was a construction manager. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on April 30, 1974. He was an avid gardener and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara K. Griffith Veneigh; his father, Leroy J. Veneigh; and a sister.

A memorial service was held Thursday, April 7, at Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers, with military honors provided by the Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard of Rogers. Cremation arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 100, 711 W. Persimmon St., Rogers, AR 72756.

Mary P. Holland Welborn

Mary P. Holland Welborn, 86, of Farmington, Ark., died Saturday, April 2, 2005, in Rogers, Ark. She was born Dec. 2, 1918, in Fayetteville, Ark., to William Newton Holland and Helen Cox Holland.

She was a lifetime member of the Farmington Baptist Church. She retired from Campbell Soup after 25 years. She enjoyed music, reading and crocheting.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 7, at the Farmington Baptist Church with Pastor Preston Beeks. Burial was at the Farmington Cemetery. Arrangements were by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Ark.

Margaret Ann Wells

Margaret Ann Wells, 80, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. She was born July 14, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., to John Regan and Margaret Ann Claus Regan.

She marriage Earl E. Wells on Feb. 13, 1944, in Chicago, Ill. She worked as a teller in the banking industry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl E. Wells; and two grandchildren, Michael and Kristofer.

Survivors include three sons, James Wells of Texas, Daniel Wells of Oklahoma and Michael Wells of California; a daughter, Patricia Hobbs of Rogers; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in southern California. Burial was at the Veterans National Cemetery in Los Angeles. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Rogers.

Thomas Morgan Beeman Jr.

Thomas Morgan "T.M." Beeman Jr., 84, of Lowell, Ark., died Monday, April 18, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers, Ark. He was born Dec. 19, 1920, in Collinsville, Miss., to Thomas Morgan Beeman Sr. and Adelia Ann Gressett Beeman.

He was a graduate of Collinsville High School and attended Scooba Junior College. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He retired as a firefighter with the Naval Air Station in Meridian, Miss. He was a member of American Legion Post 21, the Department of Mississippi, for more than 50 years, and was a Mason.

He marriage Hellon Jane Chisolm in December 1941. He had lived in Meridian, Miss., where he was a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church for more than 58 years. He moved to Lowell two years ago and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lowell.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 22, at Barham Funeral Home of Meridian, Miss., with the Rev. James Snowden. Burial was at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Brian Keith Dale

Brian Keith Dale, 34, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born June 3, 1970, in Gravette, Ark., to Wayne Loy Dale and Kathryn Ann Luedecke Dale.

He was an automobile service technician and a member of the Church of Christ in Springtown, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Loy Dale.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Kathy Honson and Richard Honson of Siloam Springs; a brother, Gregory Wayne Dale of the home; his maternal grandmother, Thelma Luedecke of Siloam Springs; a special nephew, Anthony Wayne Dale of Rogers, Ark.; and special friends, Randy Foreman and Lisa Foreman, and Robbie Powell and Shawna Powell, all of Gentry, Ark.
