Herbert Leigh Keller

Herbert Leigh Keller, age 92, of Bella Vista, passed away on March 11, 2008, in Bentonville. He was born on Aug. 5, 1915, in Kansas City, Kan. He was a reprographics draftsman for Burns and McDonald for many years. He was a member of the Christian Community Church in Bella Vista and The Jelly Belly’s Golf Club, also of Bella Vista.

He is survived by his wife Vamo Jo Keller, of Bella Vista; son Stuart L. Keller of Kansas City, Mo.; daughters, Diane Lowe of Belton, Mo., Kathy Ahern of Williamsburg, Va., Karen Lister of New Jersey; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held March 24 at The Community Church of Bella Vista, with the Rev. Richard Lindman officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville.

Angelia C. Lyons

Angelia C. “Angie” Lyons, formerly of Bella Vista, peacefully slipped away from the bonds of earth on Feb. 18, 2008, and was received into the arms of our Lord.

Metastic lung cancer, Stage IV, had been diagnosed on Jan. 19, 2008, and Angie was receiving treatment at the Cleveland Clinc, Ohio.

Angie Lyons was the fourth child born to Dr. Dave and Lucille Lyons, on June 12, 1939, in Seminole, Okla.

At the end of World War II, Dr. Lyons relocated to Pittsburg, Kan.

Angelia C. Lyons held a masters degree in special education. After teaching 30 years in the Wyandotte County school system in Kansas City, Kan., Angie relocated to Bella Vista, where she was a receptionist at Riordan Hall, a member of the Sophisticated Ladies, VFW Post 9063 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Angie did substitute teaching in Benton County schools, was a loving, jovial friend and neighbor, enjoyed playing cards, and doting on her Shih-Tzu dogs, ‘C. C.’ and ‘Cinnamon’.

Angelia C. Lyons is survived and mourned by four brothers, Michael (Doris) Lyons, Restson, Va., Mark (Gale) Lyons, Powder Springs, Ga., Malcolm Lyons, Bella Visa, Daniel (Christine) Lyons, Arlington, Va., and four grieving sisters, Bridget (Art) VanHouten, Bella Vista, Kathleen (Doug) Henderson, Rocky River, Ohio, Elizabeth (Gary) Bartz, Joplin, Mo., and Ellen Lyons, Barling. Angie is also deeply mourned by her adoring eight nieces, seven nephews, eleven great-nieces and seven great-nephews.

Angelia was preceded in death by infant twin sisters, Margaret and Winifred, her parents, Dr. Dave and Lucille Lyons, and both of her beloved Shih-Tzu’s.

Following Angie’s wishes her eyes were donated to the National Eye Bank of America and her body was cremated.

A memorial service will be held in St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Scammon, Kan., on June 12, 2008. Graveside services will follow at St. Bridget’s cemetery.

Family and friends attending Angie’s services were welcome to a luncheon provided by the St. Bridget’s Ladies Altar Society in St. Bridget’s Hall.

Angie’s family requests that any donations and memorials be directed to charities of your choice in the name of Angelia C. Lyons.

The Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburgh, Kan. is conducting the arrangements.

Horace E. Ringbloom

Horace “Gene” E. Ringbloom 88, of Bellevue, Neb., died March 20, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his wife Frances, parents Henry and Gertrude Ringbloom, daughter Diane, son H. Eugene, and brothers James and Albert.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Joseph Snook, of Bellevue; grandchildren Perry Snook and wife Michelle, of Columbus, Ohio and Kelly Snook, of Bellevue; and sister Mary Louise Wipf, of Wagner, South Dakota.

A memorial service was held March 24 at the Thanksgiving Lutheran Church in Bellevue.

Inurnment was private.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Bellevue, Neb.

Richard Leo Schweitzer

Richard “Dick” Leo Schweitzer, 70, of Bella Vista, died Monday, March 17, 2008 at Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale. He was born on July 10, 1937, in Ellsworth, Minn., to Norbert W. Schweitzer and Roberta A. Sadler Schweitzer.

He was a Spc. 4 in the U. S. Army, 1955-1958, serving 16 months in Korea. He was forman at General Motors, Grand Rapids, Mich., and plant manager / troubleshooter at G & T Industries, Grand Rapids.

He marriage Janet Koobs-Hanson on Aug. 11, 1977, in Sioux Falls, S. D.

He was owner operator of Dick’s East Tenth Street Vacuum Sales and Service from 1979–1999 in Sioux Falls. He retired in July 1999. He moved to Bella Vista in 2000 from Sioux Falls. He was a life member of the V. F. W., the Jelly Belly Golfers and AA group from Bella Vista Community Church. He was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leslie Schweitzer.

He is survived by his wife, Janet (Jan) Schweitzer of Bella Vista; two sons, Bob Schweitzer and special friend Carri Niles of Morley, Mich., Tony Schweitzer and wife, Laura of Comstock Park, Mich.; four daughters, LuAnn Carlson and husband, Jeff of Grand Rapids, Mich., Dawn Hill–Young and husband Dale Young of Sparta, Mich., Sherry Hess and husband, Mike of Grand Rapids, Laura Pokora and husband, Scott of Comstock Park; two step-sons, Brian Hanson of Sioux Falls, Brad Hanson of Sioux Falls; three brothers, Jim Schweitzer and wife, Fran of Ada, Mich., Art Schweitzer and wife, Sandy of Ellsworth, Minn.; Wayne Schweitzer and wife, Diane of Ellsworth, Minn.; five sisters, Jan Stoll of Ellsworth, Minn., Beth Duwenhoegger and husband, Robert of Adrian, Minn., Elaine Klinganberg and husband, Dennis of Adrian, Minn., Linda Klinganberg and husband, Darius of Adrian, Minn., Laura Boltjes and husband, Larry of Ellsworth, Minn.; 12 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a. m. on Friday, March 28, 2008, at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 East Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, with the Rev. Richard Lindman officiating. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bella Vista Community Church Building Fund or music department, 75 East Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. 72714 or to the Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Ark. 72762.

Mary Ada Zoltner

Mary Ada Zoltner, 88, of Rogers, died Monday, March 17, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born on Feb. 26, 1920 in Lorain, Ohio, to Ernest George Braun and Jennie Martin Braun.

She was raised and educated in Lorain, Ohio.

She marriage Calvin Frederick Zoltner on Feb. 21, 1941, in Lorain, Ohio.

They moved to Oklahoma City in 1953 and to Bella Vista in 1985.

She was an avid bird watcher, and volunteer at the Bella Vista Community Television Channel 16.

She enjoyed socializing and traveling with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin F. Zoltner on Jan. 14, 2008; three sisters, Agnes, Irma, Rosie and brother, Arthur.

She is survived by one son, David Zoltner of Denton, Texas; one daughter, Mary Beth Blanks and husband, Donnie of Ijamsville, Md.; one sister, Nina Wright of Sherman, Texas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held March 22, 2008, at the United Lutheran Church, Bella Vista, with Pastor Fred Nelson and Mr. Fred Schaap officiating.

Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.

Robert Lee Hall

Robert Lee Hall, 92, of Bella Vista, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009 at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. He was born on Dec. 11, 1916, in Kearney, Mo., to Jesse Franklin Hall and Allene Groom Hall.

He was raised and educated in Liberty, Mo. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. Robert marriage Dorothy Casebolt on Oct. 26, 1948, in Liberty.

Bob worked for Trans World Airlines as a store clerk for 19 years. He retired in 1978.

They moved to Bella Vista in 1980 from Kansas City, Kan.

He was a member of the Bella Vista Baptist Church and was a deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 12 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Casebolt Hall of Bella Vista; two sons, Judson Lee Hall of St. Louis, Robert Dean Hall and wife, Cathy of Kansas City, Kan.; one brother, Price Hall of Liberty; one sister, Eleanor Willett of Liberty; three grandchildren, Robert D. Hall Jr., Jessica Allen, and Matthew Hall; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Allen and Jordan Allen.

A funeral service was held Feb. 5 at the Bella Vista Baptist Church, with the Rev. Michael McCauley officiating.

Burial was in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.

Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bella Vista Baptist Church, 50 East Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715, or to the Mildred Cooper Memorial Chapel, 504 Memorial Drive, Bella Vista, AR 72714.

Joseph "Joe" Edward Kelly

Joseph "Joe" Edward Kelly, 92, of Bella Vista, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville. He was born April 13, 1916 in Chicago to Joseph A. Kelly and Ida Allen Kelly.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He marriage Berenice N. Mueller on Feb. 3, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois. He was employed as personnel manager at Wilson Foods for 45 years. They moved to Bella Vista in 1987 from Overland Park, Kan.

He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and Men's Club. He also was a member of the Top Twenty Golf Group.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Berly Kelly.

Survivors include his wife Berenice N. Mueller Kelly of Bella Vista; one son, Keith J. Kelly and wife, Carol of Olathe, Kan.; three grandsons, Tom Kelly and wife Stephanie, Mike Kelly and wife, Linda, Rob Kelly and wife, Loree; and six great grandchildren.

A Rosary was held Feb. 9, with a Mass of the Resurrection, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, with Father Andrew Smith officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.
