Stanley J. Horwart
Stanley J. Horwart, 57, of Bella Vista, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Feb. 12, 1946, in McCook, Neb., to Merle and Cecelia Fleming Horwart.
He was raised and educated in Nebraska. He graduated from Stamford High School.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1967 to 1971. He married Sharon Frakes on Aug. 10, 1968, in Lincoln, Neb.
After his discharge from the military, he owned and operated Husker Heating and Cooling. He moved to Bella Vista in 1995 from Lincoln.
He owned and operated Home Team Inspections. He enjoyed golf and motorcycling.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Merle Horwart; and a brother, Norman Horwart.
Services will be held at a later date in Stamford, Neb. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Richard William Johnson
Richard William Johnson, 91, of Bella Vista, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born Sept. 19, 1912, in Wakita, Okla., to Morris Marion and Permelia Jane Elliott Johnson.
He was raised in Wakita, attended Wakita schools and received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma A&M College.
He married Doris Loretta Palmer on June 3, 1936, in Stillwater, Okla. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1986.
She preceded him in death on Mother's Day in May 1987. He married Margaret Hambrick in 1988, and she preceded him in death in January 2000.
He served in the United States Army Corp. of Military Police from Jan. 18, 1941, to Dec. 23, 1945. He received a Bronze Star Medal, EAME Service Medal and Unit Citation for his service during World War II in the European Theater. He continued to serve as a reserve officer, and retired as a colonel in May 1966.
His main occupation was as a farmer and stockman from 1940 to 1968, north and east of Caldwell, Kan. The Johnsons were honored by American Royal as the Kansas Farm Family of the Year in Kansas City in 1957.
He was an avid golfer, bowler, and member of the Bella Vista FlyTyers Club. He was a private pilot, horseman, oil painter and stained glass artist, and a member of the Ozark 102nd Infantry Division Association.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Bryan Johnson; and two sisters, Myrle Swanson and Nedra Lucille Johnson.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Morris A. and Marion Johnson of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judith Roxann and Jerome Niebaum of Lawrence, Kan., and Jennifer Jeane and William Mears of Austin, Texas; a brother, Dean Johnson of Wakita; a sister, Alice Johnson of Enid, Okla.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a special friend and caregiver, Vera Jondle of Bella Vista.
A memorial service will be held in November in Bella Vista. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.
Grover S. Kirk
Grover Stanford Kirk, 82, of Rogers, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, at his home. He was born June 9, 1921, in Madison, to Tom and Annie Webb Kirk.
He was a longtime resident of the area. He owned and operated Kirk's Plumbing for more than 40 years.
He was a Baptist and a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Artie Kirk, in 1997; and all of his siblings.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Stanford Kirk of Pea Ridge; two daughters and sons-in-law, Letamae and Danny White of Blue Springs, and Peggy Darlene and Harold Smith of Avoca; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Harold Smith, Grover Mills, Billy Russell, Wayne Kirk Jr., Terry Martin and Gary Hones. Honorary pallbearers were Danny White, Jimmy Dejarnatt and Jimmy Smith.

Elizabeth M. Nelson
Elizabeth "Liz" M. Nelson of Bella Vista died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at her home.

Viola Luella Reiling
Viola Luella Reiling, 80, of Bella Vista, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at her home. She was born Oct. 20, 1922, in Gresham, Neb., to Otto and Martha Fischer Neujahr.
She married Clifford Reiling on March 7, 1943.
She had been employed at the Star Hamburger Cafe, at Vahl Drug, and in department management for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in Bentonville for 24 years.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Candyce and Les Krenk of Maui, Hawaii; a daughter-in-law, Donna Reiling of Austin, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Neujahr of St. James City, Fla., Gordon and Charlene Neujahr of Markeson, Wis.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Adela and Elmer Schmidt of Hampton, Neb., and Velma Reed of Omaha, Neb.; a sister-in-law, Alice Neujahr of Schuyler, Neb.; and three grandchildren, Jason Shaw, Jennifer Nall and Corry Reiling.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Volzke Mortuary in Seward, Neb., with family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A second visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at St. John Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Cutler officiating. Burial was at Seward Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Corry Reiling, Jason Shaw, Kenneth Neujahr, Darrell Schmidt, Galen Dohrmann and Todd Neujahr. Honorary pallbearers were Jennifer Shaw, Sandy Peterson, Kris Johnk, Brenda Meinberg, Rhonda Hill and Linda Graf.
Local arrangements were by Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.
