Henry M. Matlock
ROGERS -- Henry M. Matlock, 87, of Rogers died March 30, 2003, at his home. Arrangements are pending at Callison-Lough Funeral Service in Rogers.

Opal M. Crawford
ROGERS -- Opal Marie Crawford, 80, of Rogers died March 29, 2003, at her home. She was born Oct. 30, 1922, in Kansas City, Kan., to James Lester and Edith Gertrude Hardwick Dillman. She lived in Garfield most of her life and moved to Rogers in 1993. She was employed by TRW as a toolmaker, retiring after 15 years. She was also a homemaker and a member of Brightwater United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and raising house plants. She wrote poetry and was an avid reader and enjoyed working crossword puzzles and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Virgil Crawford in 1969 and one daughter, Nancy Joann Crawford.
Survivors include one daughter, Kirby Hamby and husband Orvil of Rogers; two sons, Gale Crawford of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Randle Crawford and wife Judy of Bentonville; one brother, Dr. Buddy Leroy Dillman of Lady Lake, Fla.; one sister, Patsy Louise York of Little Flock; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Brightwater United Methodist Church with the Rev. Love Loftis and the Rev. Phil York officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lyda May White
SPRINGDALE -- Lyda May White, 85, of Springdale died March 29, 2003, at Springdale. She was born Sept. 25, 1917, in Fayetteville to Frank and Maude Hunton Eidson. She was a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Springdale and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey White, in 1982.
Survivors include two sons, Don White and wife Dorothy of Springdale and Larry White and wife Kathy of O'Fallon, Mo.; one sister, Imogene Pearson of Siloam Springs; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale with the Rev. Todd Anderson officiating.
Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nathan White, John White, Kenny White, George Edgmon, Russ Salsbury and Richard McGinnis.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John E. Carson
ELKINS -- John E. Carson, 81, of Elkins died March 30, 2003, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born March 14, 1922, in Moundsville, W.Va., to William and Mary Carson. He served in the Air Force and was stationed in Italy during World War II. He was a member of Harris Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two children, Billie Joan Carson and Terry Edward Carson.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Gladys "Bert" Carson of the home; one brother, Joe Carson of Bryan, Texas.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville with the Rev. Lynville Eaton and Dr. John Moore officiating. Burial will be in Drakes Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jonathan M. Owens
HOLIDAY ISLAND -- Jonathan Michael Owens, 31, of Holiday Island died March 29, 2003, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident on March 23 at Holiday Island. He was born in Jonesboro and was a 1990 graduate of Jonesboro High School.
He worked at St. Bernard's Physical Therapy Program for several years before moving to Northwest Arkansas seven years ago. He was employed by the Holiday Island Wastewater Treatment Department and was an avid sportsman and Razorback fan.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Akin Owens of the home; his mother and stepfather, Linda Vaughn and Darroll of Jonesboro; his father and stepmother, Gary Owens and Georgia of Batesville; two sisters, Lora Dixon and Shelia Ivy, both of Jonesboro; one brother, Hadley Owens of Jonesboro; his grandparents, Billie Parish of Jonesboro, Bobby Gene Harrington of Maine and Allie Ray Vaughn of Jonesboro.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Emerson Memorial Funeral Home in Jonesboro with the Rev. James Strait officiating.
Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Kahrl, John Tull, Scott Widner, Brannon Strait, Chris Montgomery and Derek Vance.
Memorials may be made to a trust fund at Union Planters Bank in Jonesboro or the Arvest Banks of Northwest Arkansas.

Anna Marie Poplin
DOVER -- Anna Marie Poplin, 32, of Dover died July 5, 2003. She was born July 5, 1971, in Danville. She was a homemaker and mother. She lived in Springdale for about five years and moved to Dover in 2002.
Survivors include her husband, Frank McDaniel of Farmington; her children, Hali Poplin, Chance Poplin and Taylor Poplin, all of Dover; her father, Jerry Poplin of Heber Springs; her mother and stepfather, Ruth and Bryan Bland of Dardanelle; two sisters, Shawn Solley of Russellville and Kristen Roper of Atkins; two brothers, Bryan Poplin of Blytheville and Eddie Poplin of Beebe; her grandmother, Marie Moore of Dardanelle.
Services were Wednesday at the Assembly of God Church in Pottsville with the Rev. Mike McNeely officiating. Burial was in Lower Spring Creek Cemetery under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle. Pallbearers will be James R. Moore, Timmie W. Tilley, James W. Moore, Kenny J. Moore, Bobby J. Moore and Eddie Tilley.

Goldie Sams
MANNFORD, Okla. -- Goldie Sams, 72, of Mannford, Okla., died July 10, 2003, at her home. She was born March 17, 1931, at Ball Creek to Scott and Jennie Petree Edens. She was a homemaker and attended the New Hope Baptist Church in Mannford. She was preceded in death on June 5, 1995, by Virgil Dewey Sams, to whom she was married May 15, 1948, and two sons, Randy Scott Sams and Jackie Sams.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Sams and his wife Carol of Mannford and Charles Sams and his wife Karen of Berryhill, Okla.; three daughters, Martha Flynt and her husband Monte and Melba Wells and her husband Craig, all of Mannford, and Loretta Varner of Yale, Okla.; four brothers, Luther Edens and wife Thelma of Fredonia, Kan., Jake Edens and wife Pauline of Springdale, Wayne Edens and Jane of Searcy and Wyley Edens and Dottie of Tulsa; four sisters, Bessie Ogden of Huntsville, Eunice Ogden of Mannford, Martha Mitchell and El of the state of Washington, and Geneva Tindall and Tom of Center Ridge; seven grandsons; seven granddaughters; nine great-grandsons; three great-granddaughters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Brashears Funeral Home with Elder Cal Kennedy officiating.
Burial will be in the Ledbetter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Parker, Jason Sams, Danny Sams, M.J. Flynt, Ronnie McCutchen and Michael Randolph. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Sams and William Sams.
