Bobby Ray Stone
April 22, 2007
Bobby Ray Stone, 55, of Nashville, died Sunday April 22, 2007, at a North Little Rock hospital. He was born April 20, 1952, at Nashville, AR, the son of Willie Mae Allen Stone and the late Robert Vaughn Stone.
He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church. He was employed by Deltic Timber.
Mr. Stone is survived by one daughter, Heather Stone of Magnolia, AR; his mother, Willie Mae Stone of Nashville, AR; one brother, Billy N. Stone and wife, Jerlyn, of Nashville, AR; one sister, Pat Elders and husband, Jim, of North Little Rock, AR; one niece, Pam Culwell of North Little Rock, AR; one great-niece, Grace Culwell of North Little Rock, AR; and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 25, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Charles M. Barnes officiating, burial in Corinth Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, April 24, from 6:00 -8:00 P.M.

Ernest Arnold
April 20, 2007
Ernest Herman Arnold, 99, was born December 29, 1907 in Hope, Arkansas to C.M. and Rosie Arnold. He left this earth for his heavenly home of Friday, April 20, 2007. He was a farmer for the Reese family of Nashville and log cutter for the Joe D. Scott Lumber Company. Also, while working for the H.M. Anthony Lumber Co. in one day, Ernest and his log cutting partner worked 8 hours cut 401 saw logs, a total of 7,752 feet, which meant the felling of 175 trees. They were given the honor of being the champions of this area of Arkansas. After leaving the Nashville area, he worked for Don Herrington Realtor and Builder of Tulsa for 21 years before retiring in 1976. Ernest became a believer and joined Unity Baptist Church of Nashville, Arkansas in 1928 and after moving to Tulsa was a member of the Ranch Acres Baptist Church Telephone Sunday School Sunday Class.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Willie Belle, daughters Doris Arnold Grosse and husband Herman of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Virginia Arnold Clark of Kellyville, Oklahoma, four grandsons, Tim Grosse of Houston, Texas, David Grosse and Pam of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Carl Clark, M.D. of Denver, Colorado and Mark Clark and Julie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, one sister Dorothy Herrin, Texarkana, Texas.
Ernest was a man who knew the value of hard work, had incredible stamina and strength and always took care of his family.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 24, at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery. Under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be6:00-8:00 Monday, April 23 at Latimer Funeral Home.

Richard McKinney
April 17, 2007
Richard McKinney, 62, of Saratoga, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at a Texarkana hospital. He was born January 16, 1945, in Overton, TX, the son of the late Preston Benjamin and Elizabeth Bolding McKinney.
He was a retired warehouse foreman for the Eads Company of Dallas, TX. He was Church of Christ; a navy veteran.
Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, William Preston, Roy Carol and Thad McKinney.
He is survived by two daughters, Susan Priest of Hot Springs, AR and Rhonda Pratt of Nashville, AR; four sisters, Linda Webb of Bossier City, LA, Hazel Anderson of White Oak, TX, Jean Cunninghan of Phoenix, AZ and Dora Harriet of San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren, Cannon James Ray, Cattlin James Ray and Maxwell Walker Pratt; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 20, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with Gary Shaver officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, April 19, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Oliver Blackwood
April 13, 2007
Oliver Blackwood, age 88, of Nashville, died on Friday, April 13, 2007 at Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville. He was born on September 7, 1918 in Columbus, Arkansas, the son of the late Allen Thurman and Lottie (Ford) Blackwood. Mr. Blackwood was an Inspector with the U.S. Government and a WWII Air Force Veteran.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Blackwood was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one brother, Dale and wife, Kay Blackwood of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Oma and husband, Bill Johnston of Redondo Beach, California, and Charlotte and husband Rich Grantham of San Marino, California; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 16, 2007 at Liberty Cemetery in Minenral Springs with Bro. David Blasé officiating under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville. .

Frank Pokornik
April 8, 2007
Frank Pokornik, 76, of Mineral Springs, went home to be with his Lord Easter Sunday, April 8th 2007; He was diagnosed with cancer in April 2003. Even as he courageously fought the progression of this disease, he continued to share his vast knowledge and wisdom with family & friends.
He was born Oct. 29, 1930 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Frank and Marie Pokornik.
Command Sgt. Major Pokornik was an army veteran who proudly served his country for 42 years in Germany, Korea, Panama, Egypt and stateside. He received numerous awards including Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service, Army Commendation, Army Good Conduct, Army Achievement, WWII Occupation, National Defense Service, Humanitarian Service, Oak Leaf Clusters (2) and Chicago Tribune Outstanding Soldier of the Year.
He was a tree farmer and a retired A T & T employee. He was an asst. scout leader, volunteer fireman, and a member of the VFW. He volunteered as a leader and teacher at Cedar Lake Bible Camp and served on the board there for several years.
Frank loved his Lord and served as a deacon at the First Baptist Church, Nashville.
Frank (Grandpa Fuzzy) is survived by his wife of 55 years, LaVerne; three sons, John & wife Maxine of Elizbeth, IL, Joseph & wife Barbara of Casey, IL, David and wife Tracy of Plainfield, I; and daughter, Diane Powers & Husband Dennis of Normal, IL; ten grandchildren – Christina, Susan, Robert, MaryBeth, Laura, Karen, Matthew, Andrew, Seth, and Ethan; and six great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Kaytlenn, Scott, Nathaniel, Nancy & Victor.
Frank loved his family dearly. He enjoyed cooking and baking for them and spending times with them. The love this military man had for his family knew no conditions; his heart knew no boundaries. His wisdom and love will be missed not only by family but also by his many friends.
Visitation will be at Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville, Wednesday, April 11th from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church in Nashville 10 A.M. Thursday, with the Reverend David Blasé officiating, following by military honors service graveside at Bluff Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church Family Activity Center or Arkansas Baptist Children’s Center.

Dale F. Gathright
April 7, 2007
Dale F. Gathright, Sr., 82, of Saratoga, died Saturday, April 7, 2007 in Pike County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Gathright was born July 16, 1924, in Saratoga to Tom and Ether Gathright. He was the co- owner of Dales Grocery and was retired from Nekoosa/Georgia Pacific Papermill in Ashdown and was a welder. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church of Okay, AR, the International Paperworkers Union and the Saratoga School Wall of Honor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vivian Newton Gathright. His brother, Frank Gathright of Fayetteville, AR; his daughter, Pam Sortuche of California; three sons, Dale Gathright, Jr. of Saratoga, AR; Tommy Gathright of Ashdown, AR and Tracy Gathright of Nashville, AR; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one special nephew, Travis Hughes of Nashville, AR and many other nephews, nieces and other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 11, at Saratoga Cemetery, with Bro. Harless Oglesby officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, April 10, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Memorial may be made to the Pike County Hospital.

Alton Terrell
April 2, 2007
Alton Terrell, 93, of Murfreesboro, died as he lived surrounded by his loving family, April 2, 2007, at a Murfreesboro hospital. He was born February 9, 1914, at Murfreesboro, AR the son of the late A.P. and Rosena Terrell.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Murfreesboro; A retired business owner from Alton’s Auto Supply which he founded, and a partner in Terrell Farms in Murfreesboro.
Mr. Terrell was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Pauline Mauney Terrell, two brothers, Robert and A.P. Terrell, Jr., and two sisters, Daphne Cook and Helen Dillard.
He is survived by one son, Al Terrell and wife, Jane, of Murfreesboro, AR; one daughter, Rosemary Mounts and husband, Randy, of Murfreesboro, AR; grandchildren, John and Christy Terrell, Chris and Karen Terrell, Jamie and Ann Terrell, Jason and Ashley Mounts, and Alison and Seth Hollenbach; one great-grandson, Clay Terrell and two great-granddaughters, Cassidy and Reagan Terrell and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 3, at First United Methodist Church, Murfreesboro, with Keith Dodson, Freeman Henderson and Al Terrell officiating, burial in Murfreesboro Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.
Memorials may be made to Pike County Hospital, Murfreesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, April 2, from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M.
