Truman “Bud” Earl Eldridge, son of the late Hadley Herbert Eldridge and Twylah Amalee Paxton Eldridge, was born February 18, 1931 in Calhoun, Missouri. He departed this life January 23, 2014 in Benton, Arkansas at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 5 days. In 1953 he was united in marriage to Pearl Schmitz in La Mesa, California. He spent his life as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. He served five years in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he was employed as a computer programer for IBM; retiring after 35 years of employment. After retiring, he went into business for himself; owing and operating Eldridge Programing. He was a member of the Melbourne Community Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Pearl Eldridge of Melbourne; two sons: Steven Eldridge of LaCrosse and Joel Eldridge and wife Patsy of Flippin; two daughters: Colette Crook and husband Jeff of Haskell and Diane Weaver of Weaverville, California; one brother: Herb Eldridge of Murrieta, California; six sisters: Wyonda Handley of Independence, Missouri, Shirley Kephart of Columbia, Missouri, Sondra Hodge of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Sharon Uminn of West Plains, Missouri, Elizabeth Killion of Techumseh, Missouri and Debra Eldridge of Columbia, Missouri; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Russell Eugene Eldridge.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Melbourne Community Church.

Russell Jacob Baker
Russell Jacob Baker of Horseshoe Bend, AR passed away Wed., October 16, 1996 at the age of 78 years and 10 months. He was born in Kenilworth, IL on December 16, 1917, the son of Jacob and margaret (Flynn) Baker. He spent his working years as an engineer, Sears school district of Kenilworth, IL and also served during World War II in the army. He was a member of the American Legion of North Brook, IL. Russell retired and moved to Horseshoe Bend sixteen years ago. He was a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church, Lions Club, and Eagles Club. Russell leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Ethel Louise of the home; one son, Jack D. Baker of Chicago, IL; one daughter Terry A. Keith of Wheeling, IL; three grand children; one sister Dorothy Meiret and one brother, Marvin Baker. A memorial service was held at the Faith Presbyterian Church of Horseshoe Bend at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 18 with Rev. Burle Mattingly officiating. Burial was in the Evening Shadows cemetery of Horseshoe Bend. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that memorial be made to the Faith Presbyterian Church of Horseshoe bend, ar. Services were under the direction of the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel, Horseshoe Bend, AR.
Freida Bernice Wisdom Handley
Freida Bernice Wisdom Handley, 77, of Searcy died October 5, 1999. Born September 29, 1922, in McRae, she was the daughter of Walter E. Wisdom and Clara Hale Wisdom. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and a volunteer nursery worker. She also served on the state mission board of the Women's Missionary Union.

Loreda (Reda) Martindill King, 80, of Searcy died October 5, 1999. Born July 16, 1919, in Searcy, she was the daughter of Elvis and Annie Rice Martindill. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

for 62 years. He was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as song director for many years. He also worked as a carpenter throughout White County, building many homes and retired from Raymond Overstreet Construction as a cabinet-maker.

He was a former president of Griffithville school board, formerly on the board of directors of Riceland Foods Co-op, former board member of Southeast White County Water Association, member and former deacon of First Baptist Church in Griffithville; and a farmer.
