Joe King

Joe Wick King, 82, of Seattle, Wash., formerly of Carlisle died Dec. 7, 2007.

He was born Oct. 21, 1925, at Lafayette, Tenn., to Jessie and Pearlie Smalling King.

He retired as chief petty officer after serving 24 years with the Navy.

He was a veteran of the Second World War, Korea and Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Reuter King of Seattle; two sons, David King of Edmonds, Wash., and Michael King of Woodinville, Wash.; one daughter, Vickie King of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one brother, Eddie King of Carlisle; two sisters, Mary Gruenke of Carlisle and Dixie Wynne of Escondido, Calif.; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rev. Tommy King and J.A. King.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at New Hope Church in Carlisle with burial in New Hope cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe.

Memorials may be made to New Hope cemetery, c/o Pat White, 3980 Hwy 236 E., Carlisle, Ark. 72024.

Osmond Schwiesow

Osmond 'Bob' Schwiesow, 83, died Dec. 10, 2007.

He was born in Chamberlain, S.D., Nov. 16, 1924 to the late John and Ida Schwiesow.

He is survived by his loving wife, Fay Schwiesow of Jacksonville; five sons, Mike and wife Chris Rogers of Arizona, Larry and wife Gail Schwiesow of Gold River, Calif., David and wife Phyllis Schwiesow of Loyalton, Calif.; Bob Schwiesow of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Dan Schwiesow, of Oakley, Calif.; and a daughter, Karen Dallen of Red Bluff, Calif.; sister, Eula Smith; and brother, Chuck Schwiesow �both of Portland, Ore.; as well as 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Jacksonville with Rev. Kevin Conger officiating.

Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.

There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service at the church.

Jackie Miller

Jackie Lee Miller, 55, of Cabot died Dec. 11, 2007.

He was born May 9, 1952 in Kankakee, Ill., to the late Emmitt and Dorothy Miller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Parks.

He was a mechanic for Cabot Schools and was a NASCAR and Arkansas Razorbacks fan.

He is survived by his son, John Miller and wife Kellye; two granddaughters, Kaylee Christene and Ashlee Marie; grandson, Hunter Wayne; three brothers, Steven Parks and wife Dianne, and Jerry and Ronnie Miller; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Dec. 14 at Cabot Funeral Home.

Don Cutlip

Don Harold Cutlip, 75, of Jacksonville passed away Dec. 8, 2007.

He was born in Jumbo, W. Va. Virginia to the late Alexander and Vona Cutlip.

He served in the Air Force for 29 years, serving in Korea and Vietnam.

After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at Ft. Roots as a Veteran's Case Worker working for benefits for other veterans.

He was a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, a loving husband and father to his four children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lahoma Whitman Cutlip; and four siblings, Vera Anderson, Norma Orth, Oris Toothman, and Holt Cutlip.

He is survived by three siblings, Harry Cutlip, Jetta Alderman and Cal Cutlip, all of Ohio; four children, Don H. Cutlip, Jr. and Roger D. Cutlip of Jacksonville, Teresa L. Curry of McGehee and Sabrina J. Matthews of Ward; and by a grandson, Grayson Shane Matthews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 in the Chapel of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Air Force Aide Society.

Ida Sinyard

Ida Mae Sinyard, 74, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Dec. 6, 2007 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital from pneumonia complications.

A native of Indianapolis, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Raymond J. and Katherine Mae Pointer Henderson.

She had lived in Elizabethton, Tenn., for four years.

She was a member of Marshall Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville and had worked as executive housekeeper of lodging for the Little Rock Air Force Base.

She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 520, Order of the Amaranth Chapter 10 and Daughters of the Nile Chapter 136.

She was also a member of Arkansas Home Extension.

Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Jean and husband Louis Castro of Fort Worth, Texas and DeeAnn and husband Freddie Bradshaw of Elizabethton, Tenn.; a son, Walter Jack and wife Rebecca Sinyard of Magnolia, Texas; four grandchildren, Kevin Ray Castro, Danilla Jean Castro, MeShell Ann Bradshaw and Bryan Arthur Bradshaw; a sister, Rita Marie Horn; a half sister, Teresa Buhr; and a half brother, Thomas F. Buhr Jr.; several nieces and nephews also survive her.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 in the chapel of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Those who prefer to give memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Shriners Hospital for Children/Burn Unit, 815 Market St., Galveston, Texas 77550 (409-770-6600).

Consuela Cook

Consuela DaNane Cook, 35, of Jacksonville died Dec. 6, 2007.

She was preceded in death by her son, Seth Mattocks and her grandparents.

She leaves to cherish her memory, parents, Carolyn and George Daniels of Jacksonville and Larry and Mary Cook of North Little Rock; her longtime companion, Kevin Nutt of Jacksonville; son, Sebastian Nutt of Jacksonville; one sister, Catina Green and husband Chris; two brothers, James Cook and Marc Daniels and wife Terra; and her special niece, Emily Green, along with many friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 in the chapel of Moore’s Funeral Home with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the funeral home.

Jessie Cloud

Jessie Donna Satchfield Cloud, 91, of Lonoke, widow of Joe Gaines Cloud, died Dec. 8, 2007.

She was a member of Lonoke First United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and of AARP.

She is survived by three sons, Carroll Doyne Cloud of Lonoke, James Wilson Cloud of Boise, Idaho and Lloyd Curtis Cloud of Harrison; one daughter, Carolyn Cloud Stanley of Crossville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and her sister Ruth Black of Ashdown.

Her parents, James and Trudie Satchfield; husband, Joe; brother, James Madison Satchfield, III and sisters, Una Rucks Forcht and Kathryn Dodd preceded her in death.

Funeral services were Dec. 11 at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke. Burial was in Bonners Chapel cemetery in Tichnor.

John Stout

John Paul 'JP' Stout, 18, of Beebe died Dec. 7, 2007.

He was an athlete, honor student and an avid hunter who loved his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Henry Stout.

He is survived by his parents, Rodney Stout of Osceola and Vickey and Brian Johnson of Beebe; sister, Nora Stout; step-sisters April and Amy Stafford; grandparents, Nora and Bud Corley, Chuck and Theresa Dillard, all of El Paso, Betty and Sid Johnson of Beebe, Tiny and Beatrice Kirkland of Greenbrier; uncle Charles Leslie Dillard of El Paso; aunt Sheila Ann White of Florida and uncles Larry and Rodney Johnson.

Funeral was Dec. 10 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.

Mary Shook

Mary Anna Holaway Shook, of McRae, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, left this earth to be with the Lord Dec. 9, 2007.

Born Jan. 30, 1936 in Tucson, Ariz., she grew up and lived her childhood years in Arizona.

In 1958, she married Stanley Shook from McRae and shortly thereafter relocated to Arkansas with her new husband.

The couple shared many happy years together and were approaching their 50th wedding anniversary in January.

Shook was a devout Christian and Baptist and an active member of First Baptist Church of McRae for over 40 years.

As a registered nurse for 42 years, she was well known for her genuine care for other people and her nursing expertise.

She graduated from the St. Mary School of Nursing and devoted many years to an occupation she loved.

After moving to Arkansas, she worked at the Old Rogers Hospital in Searcy, prior to taking a position at White County Health Department, from which she retired in 1999.

Through her work in nursing, she made many friends who often sought her advice and knowledge about health and life.

Those who knew her would agree that she was quick to respond to those in need when called upon for help.

The greatest love of her life was her family.

Just the mention of any of her children or grandchildren would spark a twinkle in her eyes.

She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved to learn new things.

She was an avid reader and traveler, always anxious to share information with others or take a trip to a place she had never traveled.

She is survived by her spouse, Stanley Shook of McRae; mother-in-law, Margaret Shook of McRae; sons, Mike and wife Cheryl Shook of Stuttgart, Larry and wife Belinda Shook of McRae; daughter, Deanna and husband Bryan Fancher of Huntsville, Ala.; siblings, Norma Rose of Boron, Calif., Roy and wife Joan Holaway of Chandler, Ariz.; and sister-in-law, Laverne Holaway of Mesa, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Martie Shook of Beebe, Matt Shook of McRae, Steven and Clay Shook of Stuttgart, Sarah and Emily Barnett of Stuttgart, and Dylan and Dalton Fancher of Huntsville, Ala. and one great-grandson, Brody Shook of Beebe.

Along with these family members, she leaves behind a large number of other relatives and friends who are thankful to have been blessed by being a part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents Francis Owen and Anna Hynding Holaway; a brother, Robert Holaway; and two sisters, Evelyn Corron and Betty Brown.

Funeral services were yesterday at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of McRae Building Fund at 701 East Second Street, McRae, Ark. 72102.
