LUCILLE RHODES

Funeral services for Lucille "L.C." Rhodes, 84, of Marianna will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Marianna. The Rev. Shelly Harmon will officiate. Burial will be at Jerusalem cemetery in Marianna.

Rhodes, born Oct. 15, 1919 in Brickeys, to the late Nancy and Buck Qualls, died Aug. 18, 2004. She united in marriage with Tobe Rhodes on Sept. 5, 1950.

Visitation will be from 7:30 until 9 p.m. this evening at Jackson and Highley Funeral Home and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Marianna.

Three sons Johnny Hampton, Ed Hampton and Warner Hampton preceded her in death.

Before moving to Flower Mound, Texas to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Lucille worshiped her Lord and Savior at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Marianna. She later joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Lewisville Texas.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Tobe; nine children, Jesse and Carol Hampton, Robert Hampton, Chester Hampton, Arnetta Malone, Betty Randell, Stevie Rhodes, Calvin Rhodes of Denver, Col., Sylvester and Judy Rhodes of Omaha, Neb., Shirley and Marcus Owens of Flower Mound, Texas; 26 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; her cherished cousin V.T. Harmon of Chicago, Ill., and a son-in-law, Sam Malone of Kansas City, Kansas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Jackson and Highley Funeral Home will direct services.

WALTER SMITH

Funeral services for Walter Smith Sr., 74, of West Helena who died Aug. 15, 2004 will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004 at the Phillips, Lee, Monroe and Desha District Center at Helena Crossing. Minister Richard Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah cemetery in Marvell.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today at the New Zion Church.

Brown's Home for Funerals will direct services.

FREDDIE WOODY

Funeral services for Freddie Fraction "Big Mama" Woody, 49, of Cleveland, Ohio formerly of Helena will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday Aug. 21, 2004 at the Beautiful Zion Baptist Church in Helena. The Rev. Danny Robinson will officiate. Burial will be at Magnolia cemetery in Helena.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. this evening at Brown's Home for Funerals.

AMBROSE WEBSTER SR.

Graveside services for Ambrose Gaines Webster Sr., 74, of Helena will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Maple Hill cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.

Webster, born Feb. 1, 1930 at Connells Point, died Aug. 22, 2004 at his home in Helena. He owned and operated Webster Electric Company for 47 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Helena, member and former Commander of American Legion Post 41 in Helena and one of the Founders of the Park Farms Gun Club.

He leaves three daughters, Mary Jane Brannon of Brunswick, Ga., Nancy L. Young of Rogers and Rose Kaye Dearin of Jonesboro; a son, Ambrose Webster III of Cleveland, Miss., three brothers, Jack Webster of West Helena, Clifton Webster of Cash and Jesse Dunlap of Maddox Bay.

His wife Dorothy Webster and a sister Lillie Mae Hopper preceded him in death.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Helena or American Legion Post 41.

Roller-Citizens Funeral Home will direct services.

MEMORY DINAN HARDEN

Funeral services for Memory Dinan Harden, 32, of Marianna will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004 at the West Helena Baptist Church. The Rev. Dusty Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Barton.

Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.

Harden, born Feb. 8, 1972 in Helena, died Aug. 20, 2004 at her home in Marianna.

She leaves her husband Johnny Harden of Marianna; a daughter Hannah Dawn Harden and a son Johnny Slade Harden of Marianna; her parents Gus Robbins III and Dawn Robbins of Helena; two brothers Robbie Robbins of Helena and Mark Robbins of Walls, Miss., and a sister Mia Robbins of West Helena.

Her maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Mauldin and paternal Mr. and Mrs. Gus Robbins II and her mother Dinan Mauldin Tucker preceded her in death.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Robbins, Mark Robbins, Gerald Harden, Larry Harden, Jason Kilpatrick and Teddy Harden.

Roller-Citizens Funeral Home will direct services.

JULIA G. MCKINNEY

Funeral services for Julia G. McKinney, 87, of West Helena will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004 at the chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. The Rev. Al Majors will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Barton.

Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.

McKinney, born Jan. 30, 1917 in Elaine, died Aug. 28, 2004 in Hot Springs.

She was a homemaker and a member of West Helena Baptist Church.

She leaves two sons Julian C. McKinney of Bismark and Donald R. McKinney of Huntsville, Ala., a brother, Glenn Gregory of Cabot; a sister Mable Chambers of West Helena; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Her husband W.H. "Willy" McKinney and a son W.H. "Butch" McKinney Jr., preceded her in death.

Roller-Citizens Funeral Home will direct services.

JAMES A. CRAIG

Funeral services for James Arlin Craig Sr., 91, of Little Rock were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2004 at Ashby Funeral Home chapel in Benton, followed by entombment at Pinecrest Mausoleum.

Craig, born June 18, 1913 in Benton, Ark., to the late Willard and Viola Craig, died Aug. 27, 2004 at his home. He was a retail liquor dealer and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

He leaves a son and daughter-in-law Jim and Druetta Craig of Little Rock, a daughter Janet Craig Juengel of West Helena; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Ashby Funeral Home directed services.

LEROY HARRISON

Funeral services for Leroy Harrison 55, of Marvell will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004 at the New Zion Baptist Church in Marvell. The Rev. Calvin Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in the Postelle cemetery.

Harrison was born Jan. 13, 1949 in Aubrey to the late Mary and Pete Harrison.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a special friend, Florence Runnion; a daughter, Loiraine Harrison; two brothers William Harrison of Poplar Grove and Iunious Harrison and wife Thelma of Pontiac, Mich., three sisters Wilma Morris and Mary Thompson of Marvell and Lucille Paige of Peoria, Ill; 11 grandchildren and three God children Janet Walker of Memphis, Sharon Thomas of Marvell and Walter and Cassandra of Southaven, Miss.

Progressive Funeral Parlor in Marvell will direct services.

JAMES FARMER

Funeral arrangements for James Farmer, 79, of Marvell are incomplete and will be announced later by Bob Neal and Sons-Brickell Funeral Home in Marvell.

Farmer died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004 at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro.

LEATRICE BREWER

Funeral services for Leatrice Brewer, 59, of Helena will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug 14 at the Phillips, Lee, Monroe and Desha District Center at Helena Crossing. The Rev. Julious McGruder will officiate. Burial will be at Jackson Memorial cemetery in the Southland Community.

Brewer, born Sept. 18, 1944 in Lexa and raised by his grandmother Agnes Williams, died Aug. 6, 2004 at the Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 25 years Lula Brewer of Helena; five daughters, Louise and Walter Jackson, Aretha Gatlin of Helena, Lisa and Andre Brown of Jackson, Miss., Loraine Brewer Killion, and Karen Brewer Allen of West Memphis; three sons, Jessie and Sherelle Gatlin of Helena, Tyrone and Nikka Banks of Memphis, and Richard and Tameka Deisch of Kissimee, Fla., four sisters, Carolyn Brewer of Racine, Wis., Lisa Brewer of Chicago, Ill., Gail and Hubert Mitchell of Helena and Brenda and Kenneth Ackward of Kansas City, Ks., two aunts, Helena Fears of Detroit, Mi., and Maple Fears of California; 18 grandchildren, one great grandson, his father in-law Floyd Foster of West Helena; four sisters-in-law, Ola and Gene Collins, Floyd and John Henry Carruth and Rosie Foster all of West Helena Dorothy Jean Foster of Gary, Ind., four brothers-in-law, Terry Foster of Helena, Lee Foster of Texas, Kenneth and Katherine Foster of Indiana, Troy and Bobbie Foster of Starkville, Miss., and a special son-in-law Steve Bell of Helena and a host of other relatives and friends.

A son Henry Gatlin, a brother in law Will Shelly, his father Robert Brewer, and a sister in law Ollie Franklin preceded him in death.

VIRGINIA D. TRUEMPER

Graveside services for Virginia D. "Ginny" Truemper, 72, of Wilmington, Del. will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004 at St. Mary's Catholic cemetery in Helena.

Truemper, born Dec. 1, 1931 in Water Valley, Miss., to Carl Bedford Finch and Christine Finch, died Aug. 4, 2004 in Wilmington.

Her husband of 43 years, Joseph T. Truemper, passed away in 1996. Her brother, Clifford Finch and her parents also predeceased her.

She leaves a brother James "Saint" Finch; her sister Margaret; her son Edward T. Truemper and his wife, Mary Jane of Omaha, Neb., her son Timothy C. Truemper and his wife Janice of Salisbury, N.C.; her daughter Connie Truemper of Garwood, N.J. her son, Charles M. Truemper, her son Jon H. Truemper and his wife Antonette of Landsdale, PA., her son James H. Truemper, her son Roger L. Truemper and his wife Stacey of Wilmington, Del., her son, James H. Truemper of Baltimore, MD., her beloved grandchildren, Sarah, Eileen, Kyle, Mathew, Ryan, Madison and Alexa, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends.

Memorials may be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis National Society, Delaware Chapter, Two Mill Road, Suite 106, Wilmington, DE 19806.

JACK CRAWFORD

Graveside services for Jack Crawford, 71, of Marvell will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004 at Sunset Memorial Park. The Rev. Rodger Hooker will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.

Crawford, born June 3, 1933 in Marvell, died Aug. 10. 2004 at his home. He was a farmer.

He leaves two sons Freddie Jack Crawford and Nathan Vaughn Crawford; two daughters, Connie Joe Crawford and Carol Ann Crawford; two sisters Joy Crawford Jones of Memphis, Tenn., and Mary Bradshaw of Oklahoma and a brother Bobby Crawford of Lambert, Miss.
